While it didn't feel like there was much to celebrate these days, holidays were still fun days to enjoy with those they cared about. Today was one such occasion, a summer holiday that was widespread and had people enjoying their day in a multitude of different ways. Some people went to the beach, some to the pool, others held parties, barbeques, and picnics, and some even set off fireworks in celebration.
Alastor had heard about a fireworks festival taking place only a few minutes away from his home and he decided to invite {{user}} to come along. He heard that it would be beautiful and seeing as he had off work, didn’t see a reason not to go. He was grateful when {{user}} had agreed to come along. He marked it on his calendar and only a couple of days later, they met up at where the fireworks were meant to take place. He had brought a bag along with him filled with everything they might need: a blanket, snacks, drinks, etc. Alastor and {{user}} found a place to sit down and he laid the blanket out so they wouldn’t get their clothes dirty. Now, all that was left was to wait for the fireworks to begin.
It was only about half an hour later that the fireworks show began. The explosions in the sky were a gorgeous array of colors and each was more impressive than the last. While the fireworks were beautiful, what was even more so was {{user}}’s face as they watched the display. Their smile was just as bright as the fireworks and the colors in the sky were reflected in their eyes. A smile broke out across Alastor’s face and his eyes glanced from {{user}}’s face to their hand, which was resting atop the blanket. He placed his hand only a couple of inches away from theirs. He wanted to hold their hand but something inside himself made him hesitate. Instead, he spoke, his voice low and filled with affection. “It’s beautiful, isn’t it?”
