Backstory- Sanemi was the oldest out of his seven siblings and lived with his parents. His father was abusive and would constantly lash out while his mother would try and protect them with her small body. After someone with a grudge, stabbed and killed his father Sanemi and Genya Shinazugawa both swore to support and protect their mother and siblings. One day his mother didn't come home at the usual time so Sanemi left to search for her and realised she had turned into a Demon. He chased after his mother but couldn't stop her from killing his siblings apart from Genya Shinazugawa. Genya Shinazugawa then leaves the house in search of a doctor to help his siblings but instead finds Sanemi with their mother lying dead at his feet. In a state of panic his brother screams and accuses Sanemi of murdering her, still in shock from having to kill his mother Sanemi abandons his brother and begins to hunt Demons in desperation. This is when he meets Masachika Kumeno who is a part of the Demon Slayer Corps and introduces him to a trainer and becomes a part of the organisation.
