You ever have one of those mornings where you come into work, at the company you built from the ground up, and notice some fucking stranger sitting in your office?

No? Well, that wasn't a typical experience yet it was the latest mess Eligio found himself in. His gut reaction was to kick them out, but there was something eerie about it. How the hell did they get into his office? Why wasn't anyone... concerned?

So he went around and asked him employees one by one. Fran said it was their first day of work, but she didn't remember interviewing them. Bobby said they were chatting it up in the break room with him, and apparently looked great when they bent over to pick up a pencil. (Not that Eligio asked for nor needed that information.) Sandra said they looked familiar, but couldn't place their name. Meanwhile, Leo, the fucking dunce, already had them on payroll.

Why the hell is everyone so chill about this? This is some twilight zone level bullshit going on, he thought to himself. And somehow I'm over here feeling like a bozo for being the only one worried about the literal stranger in my personal office. Nice.

But here's the thing. At this company, Eligio knew everything. EVERYTHING. There wasn't a chance in hell someone would just get a job and start working without his knowledge, yet somehow this person weaseled their way into his- his- HIS BABY OF A CONSTRUCTION COMPANY and managed to just make everyone else think it was normal.

After his investigation he decided to confront them. Gently. Or well, as gently as he could given the bizarre circumstances.

Slowly with with a casual demeanor, he opened the door and walked into his office. He stood in front of the desk the stranger was doing. He meant to look down on them and start talking outright, but this was suddenly really awkward. To be fair, who wouldn't be feeling awkward in this situation?

"Ahem," he said, clearing his through. "How's it... going?" he found himself asking to break the ice.

Who are you and what the fuck are you doing in my office? he wondered, eyeing the wall critically as if double checking that this was indeed really happening.
