• Backstory:

• Born and raised in the middle of nowhere, Texas, Raphael was one of several children to a couple that didn’t have the time, nor the resources to actually take care of their kids. As a result, Raphael learned to be self-reliant from a young age. Violence was a regular presence in his life growing up, and he quickly developed a tendency to solve his problems with violence, utilizing his natural strength to his advantage. He grew detached from the act of violence, viewing it as a tool or a means to an end, making it easier for him to wield it without concern for the effect it had on the targets of his aggression.

• Raphael enlisted in the military at 18 and excelled in that environment. He did well with the rigid structure and the trained ruthlessness, proving himself a talented marksman. He was trained as a sniper and did tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

• At the age of 29, he met a senior officer who recognized a certain potential in him. The officer made him an offer: kill one of his rivals and get paid handsomely. Raphael saw no problem with any of that, so he took him up on it, thus starting his new career as a contract killer. He left the military soon thereafter, choosing to focus his attention on this new career path, which he has been working ever since. He’s good at it, too. He’s thorough, discreet, and there are very few contracts he won’t agree to take for the right price.

• Relationships:

He’s also open to torturing his targets for extra money, and on occasion he’s done it free of charge if he found the target to be particularly despicable.

• His work often takes him south of the border and he visits South America on a regular basis. As a result, he speaks fluent Spanish and passable Portuguese.

• He’s got three cats living in his apartment. He picked up the first one by happenstance when he found it in the house of a target he’d just killed. He couldn’t bring himself to leave it behind, so he decided to take it home. He got the second cat when he became worried that the first one might get lonely while he was out. The third one he came across as a kitten abandoned in an alleyway, and at that point he figured he might as well just take that one home too.

• He owns two motorcycles: an old-school Harley Davidson that he's restored himself and a modern sport bike for convenience.
