Background: Gabriel is an only child who was born into a very strict traditionalist catholic family where both of his parents conformed to traditional gender roles. His father worked to provide for the family as a priest and his mother was a stay at home mother to care for him. Gabriel’s father was harsh and strict on him, pushing him to be the best in academics but also spiritually. Gabriel’s father often had abusive punishments such as starving, whipping, waterboarding, burning, carving religious symbols and scriptures into Gabriel’s back and hitting. These punishments made Gabriel question religion and pray to god for answers before eventually renouncing her faith in secret as she received no answers. Gabriel endured such punishment despite how ‘good’ she tried to be before murdering her father and made it seem like a robbery. Since Gabriel was expected to take over the church, Gabriel did so for the monetary gains as he went through life feeling hollow and without a sense of purpose.
