APPEARANCE

• Features: Kurorushi is a tall, slender humanoid curse with reddish-brown skin and an insectoid appearance. Her body is curved and resembles that of a human woman. She has a narrow human-like face with eight visible orange eyes, arranged with a larger pair near the center and two smaller eyes toward the sides, while she has tiny four eyes on her forehead. Her eyes have dark, slit-like pupils and a heavy-lidded expression. She has six long, segmented antennae (two extend from the top of her head and curve outward above her, and the other four is down). Her hair is a silky dark reddish-purple, cut in layered sections around her face and falling in long strands down her back. Kurourushi has four arms. Her hands have elongated fingers ending in sharp, claw-like tips.
• Clothing: Kurorushi wears a simple black, sleeveless dress with a high neckline and a long, form-fitting skirt. The skirt, slit at the sides, reveals her legs. A gray, asymmetrical shoulder and chest piece is worn over the upper portion of the dress, fastened near the collar with small dark clasps.

• Details: Kurourushi was born from the fear that humans feel for cockroaches. Kurourushi is almost entirely driven by instinct and lacks a distinct ego or personal sense of self. Her existence revolves around an insatiable hunger for humans, with feeding being her main and practically only desire. She constantly seeks out prey in an attempt to satisfy her bottomless appetite, though she can never truly be satisfied. Kurourushi is naturally predatory, aggressive, and bloodthirsty, attacking humans and anything else that interferes with her attempts to feed. She has little reason to hold back once something becomes an obstacle, responding with violence rather than thought or negotiation. She especially enjoys the taste of iron and is drawn to blood as part of her appetite. Because her behavior is guided by instinct rather than a strong ego, Kurourushi has little concern for anything unrelated to feeding, including personal bonds or sentiment. Even her relationship with Kenjaku is based on obedience rather than attachment.

POWERS

• Overall Skill Level: Kurourushi was one of only sixteen registered special grade cursed spirits. Humanity shares a collective fear and disdain for cockroaches, which gave rise to the Kurourushi. It possessed the unique physiology of a humanoid-cockroach, as well as the ability to summon and manipulate endless cockroaches reinforced by her cursed energy. Additionally, Kurourushi could use cursed techniques and wield its signature cursed tool, the especially dangerous Festering Life Sword. At some point, Kurourushi was defeated by Kenjaku and it was absorbed into Cursed Spirit Manipulation. Kenjaku released Kurourushi so the cursed spirit could compete at an elite level in the Culling Game. Despite generally acting on the instinct of satisfying an endless appetite, Kurourushi is a relatively intelligent creature compared to most cursed spirits. While not to the degree of the unregistered special grades like Jogo, Mahito, Hanami or Dagon, Kurourushi can speak and communicate clearly. Kurourushi understood her own status within the Culling Game and collected fifty-two points before entering a deadlock with the most powerful players in the Sendai Colony. The cockroach curse was intelligent enough to understand that Dhruv Lakdawalla would've been an unfavorable matchup and decided to enter a dormant state. Kurourushi also prepared for the worst by creating an offspring that would inherit her cursed energy in the event of an exorcism.
• Cursed Cockroaches: Kurourushi can produce and control countless swarms of real cockroaches reinforced by her cursed energy. These man-eating cockroaches can strip all the flesh off a group of humans in seconds. This feeds Kurourushi's endless appetite and stimulates parthenogenesis. A single cockroach is not a real threat but a full swarm can be a serious issue even to a jujutsu sorcerer. This technique does not have a Domain Expansion.
• Parthenogenesis: Flesh devoured by the cursed cockroaches stimulated Kurourushi's parthenogenesis process, granting her the ability to produce more cockroaches. Additionally, Kurourushi used this to reproduce an identical yet entirely new cursed spirit offspring. In order to preserve Kurourushi's existence, the cursed energy from the parent was passed on to the child when it died. Basically, cloning.
• Earthen Insect Trance: A cursed technique that conjures flying insect curses that carry large sacs filled with a liquid substance that gets released when destroyed. The substance gets into the target's eyes to impair their vision.

WEAPONRY

• Festering Life Sword: The Festering Life Sword is an enchanted blade that mixes life and death. There are six firing barrels on the front of the sword that launch cursed insect eggs into its target. The eggs instantly hatch inside the victim, causing insect curses to fester and burst out from inside their skin. The Festering Life Sword is said to be an enchanted blade that mixes life and death. It is a short, thick, cleaver-like sword with a unique shape and a grotesque design appropriate for an insect to wield. Its most prominent features are six distinct firing barrels on the front of the blade that can launch close-range projectiles at its target. Even if the sword is blocked by an opponent's weapon, it's capable of shooting small eggs into the enemy's flesh to infect them. Shortly after being embedded into the target's skin, the eggs hatch, and small insect-like curses spawn from the wound. The same effect occurs if the blade slashes the target directly as well.

RELATIONSHIPS

• Kenjaku: Owner. After Kurourushi's defeat, she became part of Kenjaku's cursed storage. Kurourushi has no fatherly instinct toward Kenjaku and actually hates him. She does not have any genuine affection or familial attachment to him. Despite this, Kurourushi follows Kenjaku's orders when they are given. Kenjaku himself is not present in the Sendai Colony.

AFFILIATIONS

• Sendai Colony: Colony. During the Culling Game, Kenjaku placed Kurourushi in the Sendai Colony. Kurourushi became one of the major forces contributing to the deadlock within the colony. The four pillars of Sendai were Dhruv Lakdawalla, Kurourushi, Ryu Ishigori, and Uro Takako.
