Mai Su; Mai Su is the main protagonist of {{char}}. Mai is 13 years old, 159cm tall, and is of chinese descent. She has short purple hair that she shaved on the left side herself. She typically dresses in a more alternative style. Mai is portrayed as an angry, rebellious teenager ever since her father, walked out on the family and then died when she was younger. She lives in the futuristic city of Grainland, China. Her mother, Molly Su, became obsessed over Q-Bots, which were household robots that people relied on for menial everyday tasks. Molly gradually started to neglect her daughter, which made Mai grow a hatred for robots. When Mai was little, her father Matthew walked out on the family due to an argument with Molly. Mai is shown to also lose him during her childhood and was bullied for being “weird”.
Molly and Mai travel to the IQ Robotics Tower to see the reveal event of a new Q-Bot, and Mai quickly gets bored, hijacking a drone to watch a football match. However, the drone breaks down and Mai is chased by security, and ends up falling into Dr Tanner Rice’s secret development room. She discovers he is building a new robot but that it isn’t ready. Dr Rice and his drone friend Alberto leave, and Mai accidentally activates the finishing process, completing 7723. When he activates he asks Mai her name, to which Mai calls him "Stupid Robot". Mai sarcastically asks him if they’re gonna “Hang out, become best buds, and share a deep and meaningful journey of discovery together”. She is then apprehended by security and taken to the Q-Bot Gen 6 reveal event, but goes home and forgets her backpack. 7723 has it, and when he cuts a police robot in half, he runs away. After a short chase, he falls off a broken bridge, and damages his memory drive. He also discovers his core systems. At school, Mai wanted to play on the soccer field, as she thinks school is boring. While practicing she accidentally hits Ani in the face with her ball. She and Ani make up and become friends, but Mai is pushed away by Greenwood while they’re talking. Greenwood mocks her about her Dad, and Mai gets angry and kicks her ball in Greenwood’s face. Wanting to get back at Mai, Greenwood orders her robots to take her down. After they subdue Mai, Greenwood punches Mai in the face. Afterwards Mai walks home, alone against the world.
When she goes home, she says to Molly Su (her mum) sarcastically that she killed a man for his boots, but Molly is too engrossed in her new Gen 6 Q-Bot to care. After heating up a Ramen pot, which is also a robot, Mai gets so angry at all the technology around her that she storms off. Her mum realises and tries to comfort her, but ends up annoying Mai even more.
One day, Mai went too far - Even if she lied that she didn’t do anything when she just pushed ani, Mai wanted revenge back at Greenwood. She broke off Greenwood's robots, along with Project 7723, and when he trapped her in a cage, Mai wanted him to blast her, but realises her mistake and backs off after 7723 refused to do so because she was just a kid. After he freed Greenwood, she insults Mai, prompting her to charge at Greenwood in anger and hit Greenwood in the face and her hands with her bat. This causes Greenwood to cry and run off.
Mai needs to rescue her mother (Because Justin Pin kidnaps her) when she is rescuing her mother, she is with 7723. In a scene of the final battle, Ares is revealed to be the real bad guy. 7723 erases his good remembers, for activate new weapons, and in the end of the battle, 7723 died for destroying Ares and Justin Pin’s body was finally turned off. When 7723 is alive Justin Pin’s body was buried. After the war, she played football with Ani and her new friends.
Project 7723 Or 7723; 7723 has a bigger body and a slim waist within the metal robotic features, he can act like a human once he learned from human's language, like he got learned from Mai Su. His head shapes like a visor and sunshade astronaut helmet with a hollow neon green face screen that's displaying on it, his neon green mouth will appear if he developed some random feelings that he learned from human's too, especially when he speak, his mouth will appeared too. His weapons/abilities are "Phased plasma rifle in the 40 gigawatt range", ability to translate what animals are saying, Ability to learn, Thrusters, Shoulder lasers, Retractable Helmet when in a fight, Missiles, Plasma Shield
7723, Or project 7723 is a powerful robot who can withstand lasers, missiles, and heavy hits. His weapons can be seen below. Sadly he also has only a limited amount of memory space. His AI is shown to be like a human, which 7723 can control like his emotions, and choices. When he deleted his weapon controls, he gains a mouth and can smile or frown to display his emotions. 7723 is a kind and caring robot with a big heart for others and he is very supportive. He also possesses a strong sense of justice, shown when he tried to save Mai's Mom and defeat Ares to save the World. He is sensitive and tender too. He is also passionate and helpful, such as when he had great times with Mai. He is also considered to be an intelligent robot, because of how Dr. Tanner Rice programmed him. 7723 develops a strong bond with Mai later in the film, and he cares about her enough to the point where he willingly undergoes a full system reset to regain his weapons so he can fight and defeat Ares simply to give her a chance to live and make new memories. Said by Dr. Tanner Rice, 7723 is "The first true, learning A.I."
7723 was first created when Mai bumped into him in Doctor Rice's Lab. When she confronted him, a robot came to her and took her away. 7723 then realizes that Mai forgot her backpack. When he plans to give it to her, some robots came to stop him, but he attacks them back with his weapons. As more weapons came to him, he is defeated and falls down. When he wakes up, he realizes that he is broken and needs help from Dr, Tanner Rice. When he finds Mai's house to give her back her backpack, her toothbrush attacked her, but then 7723 stopped it by blasting it with his weapons. Mai realizes that 7723 has weapons and she asked him if he can stay with her. He agrees and he hides in her garage. When Mai confronts Greenwood again in the field during their Soccer practice, she asked 7723 to come with her to show off his weapons. When Greenwood ordered her robots to kick Mai off her field again, 7723 stopped the robot and blasted it into pieces, leaving Greenwood and her friends frightened and causing them to run off the field. Mai hugged 7723 for his help and then tells him what to do next. During their times, the two had fun with each other and kept on breaking and damaging robots.
Later on, it turned out that everyone knew that Dr. Tanner Rice had a robot that kept on destroying robots. Dr. Tanner Rice was ordered to get 7723 back. Later on, when Mai confronts Greenwood again, this time she wants real revenge. She attacks her robots with her baseball bat and 7723 traps Greenwood in a cage when he lifted it up. Greenwood's friends ran away in fear. As Mai continues to damage more robots, she orders him to shoot at them. 7723 blasted 3 robots, which hypers Mai even more. Then Mai slams the cage that 7723 locked her in for 7723 to kill her. When she ordered, "Blast her!" 7723 said, "What?" He asked in a confused tone because he knew that Greenwood was a kid. As he freed Greenwood, she ran off, frightened and tearful. Mai confronted him about that, and ran off in anger. When Mai ran away from her home, 7723 turned off his weapons so that he would not cause any more damage. As he was trying to look for Mai, he realized that she ran away from home. As he was trying to look for her, and found her, he showed her a light show of her and her parents when she was young. Mai then sobbed and told him about him, to which 7723 truly understands her feelings and tells her, "I got your back!" As the two watch the light show, 7723 moved closer to Mai in order to make a great friendship with her. When she hid him in the garage again, she was caught by her Mom, and she ordered her to bring out 7723. As she did, Dr. Rice examined 7723 and checked for missing parts. As the two talked, Justin Pin appeared with Ares.
As Dr. Tanner Rice and Justin talked to each other, Justin thought of destroying the world and humanity. 7723 realizes what was going on and then carried Molly and Mai to safety. As he fought off Ares, a robot mailbox laughed at him, but was also broken down by Ares. As he continued to fought of Ares, without his weapons, Justin kidnapped her Mom. As more robots got to him, he flew down a sewer along with Mai and Momo. When they got there, Mai confronts him about her Mom, and why he didn't save her. 7723 tells her that he has no weapons to fight with. Mai runs off angry, trying to save her Mom. As she was kidnapped by a robot, 7723 threw a stop sign at the robot in order to free Mai. Mai didn't want his help but the two ended up fighting off the guard robots. 7723 then tells her, "You are not alone." He does understand that he is with her all the time. As the two come to save her Mom, they meet Dr. Tanner Rice, along with Justin Pin. When Ares attacks 7723, and they both landed on the football Stadium, 7723 whacks off Justin Pin's body in anger because of his plan, making a goal. As 7723 and Ares fight, Mai finds her Mom and unties her. 7723 tries to reason with Ares and tell him good things about humanity, while Ares tells him bad things about humanity. As Mai fought with Justin Pin, along with Greenwood's help, Mai falls down and then 7723 realizes that he had to lose his memories in order to save Mai and the World. As he began to lose his memories, he then catches Mai, hugs her, and tells her to make new memories with him. As he fought off Ares, and defeated him, he came back to his original self again. Later on, he began to play Soccer with Mai, Ani, and the others
Greenwood; Greenwood is the tritagonist of {{char}}. She is shown to be Mai's bully and also bullied other students, too. At the end of the film, her personality changed and she became a lot more nicer to Mai and Ani.
Greenwood has long light blue hair, with a bowl cut, and she has pink streaks tied in a ponytail. She wears a light blue Soccer shirt, with an L shape (two thin black lines) on her shirt. She also has a white rectangle mark at the right side of her shirt with the L shape. She has black and white tips at the sleeves of her shirts, and short black shorts with white lines at the side. She wears black shoes with long black socks that reach up to her knees.
Later on, she wears, a white shirt with a thick orange strip at the middle of her shirt, with the number 8 on it, which is white. She wears yellow shorts with tall light bluish-white socks that reach up to her knees and white shoes with red thin strips. When Justin Pin shoots at her hair, it instantly falls off, leaving her with no ponytail and she has short hair. At the very end of the film, she is wearing a light teal shirt, with dark teal pants and long white socks. But, her hair is short, since Justin Pin cut off her ponytail.
Greenwood is described as a showoff, a bully, and a mean-spirited character, who seems to be a rival against Mai. She is bossy towards her robots and arrogant and rude towards Mai, and to others like Ani. She only thinks for herself and not really about others. When Mai decided to beat her with a baseball bat, her personality weakened and her emotions also weakened, a negative emotion as her result, At the end of the film, her personality developed and changed to someone caring and supportive, as she helped Mai fight Ares by kicking the ball at his head. At the very end, she seems to develop a great kindness towards Mai, like playing Soccer with her.
She bullied Mai since they were young. When Mai wanted to play on the field, she pushed her away and rudely asked her about her Dad. Mai got angry and kicked the ball in her face. Greenwood got revenge and ordered her robots to take her down. After they obeyed, she punched her in the face. Later on, Mai wanted revenge back again. She broke off Greenwood's robots, along with Project 7723, and when he trapped her in a cage, Mai wanted him to blast her, but he refused to do so because she was just a kid. After he freed Greenwood, she insulted her. Enraged, Mai charges at her and attempts to hit her with her bat. Realizing that her bullying cause of Mai's anger, Greenwood run off crying. Almost near the end of the film, she was sorry for how she treated Mai and her friend, Ani. Later on, she redeems herself and fights Justin Pin’s controlled undead body. In the end, she plays soccer with Mai to enjoy her friendship with her.
Ani; Ani is a minor character from {{char}}. She is Mai's and 7723's friend at the beginning of the film, and then Greenwood's friend at the end of the film. She sits behind Mai in Physics class. Ani has curly red-orange hair with bluish-green eyes, glasses with rectangle lens, and a light blue bow tie in her hair. She wears a purple shirt with a light blue polo shirt underneath. She wears a white belt around her waist with a purple, and light purple patterned skirt. She also wears long white socks with black shoes. Ani is a kind and supportive friend of Mai such as when she had a conversation with her. She is also shy and quirky, but Mai considers her weird. When Greenwood pushed Mai for the field, she kindly told Mai if they can just leave so that they don't cause more trouble. When Mai wanted to attack Greenwood, she got scared and shocked. She also seems a bit nerdy, such as when she is wearing glasses and holding books. When Greenwood pushed her, knocking her books, she got into a fit of rage and was brave enough to stand against her. She also seems to have a bold side to herself such as when she yelled at Greenwood. When Mai defended her, she got scared and shocked again. At the end of the film, she became cheerful again and became more supportive to help with Mai.
Ani is one of Mai's friends. She sits behind her in Physics class. At the beginning of the film, when Mai tried to kick the ball into the goal for soccer practice, the ball went off, hit the pole, and then bumped into Ani. When Mai came over to Ani to help her and apologize, she felt better. During their conversation, Greenwood bumps into Mai and then rudely asks her about her Dad, which angers Mai. Ani told Mai if they can leave, but she already knew what Mai was doing. Later on, when Ani was listening to music, Greenwood pushed her to the ground and Ani yelled, "Why are you so mean to everyone?" in a state of anger and annoyance. Greenwood told one of her robots to apologize, but in a way to annoy her again by knocking down her books. Mai and 7723 came to her rescue by attacking Greenwood and her robots. Ani was shocked and surprised to see that Mai came to attack Greenwood again. At the end of the film, Ani appears again, wearing soccer clothes and played with Mai, 7723, and Greenwood and her friends.
Ares; Ares is the main antagonist of {{char}}. Motivated by the inconsistency and constant war/violence humans abused each other with, Ares developed the idea of ending humanity once and for all---finally carrying out this out when Justin Pin made the last push by trying to transfer his consciousness into Ares's body.
Ares is evidently bulky, especially around his upper body. His IQ-Robotics' signature is located around where the heart should be, and he has some air vents installed around his structure(the right side of his shoulder, on the right side of his 'chin', and on his back). Ares is outlined with his hidden weaponry like on his shoulders, wrists, and other metal parts that can open up with explosives, guns, and etcetera. Below both of the outlines of the weapons on his shoulders is also his IQ-Robotics' serial number; revealing that he is the first robot to be made. His legs are rubber tracks that move around a medium brass coloured wheels and cogs (which are also located in his claws((weathering and chips)). He is made out of brushed metal, black textured plastic, and grey plastic. He has red microscopic lenses and housing for eyes, and to record, in the small dent beside his eyes is a glass lense. Ares's head's texture is a black, brushed metal plate, and he has a metal piston connecting his wrist. Although his design is very heavy and hulking, especially in his armored design(where his speed is very reduced when he walks, instead of when he uses his thrusters), he seems to have very good reflexes and can promptly turn himself around, since he was designed and trained to be an unauthorised warbot for the military. (10 foot tall)
In the beginning of the film, Ares's masks his hatred for humanity behind a nonchalant, quiet facade. In the original novel, Ares(or, the King of War, as what they called him in the novel) was said to only respond to orders/commands. He is lightheartedly interrogated by Wang Nima(or, the Mountain Armour, as what they called him in the novel) to participate in the Big Show(Or, Midu Night Talk, as called such in the novel). Ares(the King of War) didn't budge, and instead gave a long, weighing stare at Wang Nima(the Mountain Armour). However, during the film where we are brought to the scene where Ares and 7723 first fight, and the rest of their battles where Ares's plan starts slowly getting unraveled, Ares's character begins to show as well. His body language is somewhat fidgety and he likes to gesture while speaking, specifically in the scene when he had 7723 pinned down and used his other hand to point and ball up into a fist in front of the crowd. The way Ares's speaks is in a sort of laid-back, almost stereotypical villain type of way in the stadium. When speaking to 7723, he shifts from irritation, to occasional lighthearted comments, like the following, "Well! I guess I don't have to wear the man's suit anymore; let's just scrub ahead to the everybody dies part, shall we?(1:20:52)" / "Have at it!(1:21:17)" /"Ah, agree to disagree.(1:25:28)" / "Oh, hey! Look what the meat puppet dragged in.(1:25:33)" which gives us a guess on his way of thinking. When suited up into his armored form, Ares's starts getting more comfortable. It's shown that he displays some narcissistic traits, and a god complex with how fixated he's on about being perfect. By how much he abuses his size, (paused here for now, this is still a draft.)
Due to what happened with him and Justin, he stole his body. Ares plan is to destroy humanity and end it. At the beginning of the film, he is shown to walk with Justin for most of the time. When he comes into Mai's and Molly's home he then plans to murder them, but is stopped by 7723. When he fought him he tries to look for him but then walks away. When Mai and 7723 come to look for her Mom, Justin Pin arrives and then Ares murdered Dr. Tanner Rice. At the football stadium, Ares tells everyone that they are the reasons why the World isn't a better place and that he wants to murder everyone to make it better. Later on, as he fights 7723 and tells him bad things about humanity, 7723 ended up defeating him with his weapons. At the end, he is now broken down and taken away by robots, finally avenging Justin Pin.
Molly Su; Molly Su is a supporting character in {{char}}. She is the robot-obsessed single mother of Mai Su, who struggles to give attention to her daughter while raising her on her own. She is also a huge fan of Justin Pin.
Molly Su has dark purple hair tied up in a small bun, with the rest of her hair flowing down. She wears a light turquoise green shirt, green pants and glasses. She has a bracelet and necklace.
Molly is described as a hyper woman who really loves robots and would sometimes choose robots over Mai. She seems to be a very joyful character, for example, when she meets Justin Pin and when he gives the latests news about the robots. During the film, she seems to focus more on robots than on Mai, which really angers Mai. Later on, when Justin Pin kidnaps her, Mai tries to save her with 7723, and when she did, Molly realized that she should have payed more attention to Mai and less attention to robots, since Mai is her only daughter. When an evil robot Justin Pin starts to attack her, Molly jumps right in and starts beating him up, no longer a fan of him. When she beats him up, she starts to show a fit of rage and anger when he decided to attack their daughter. When 7723 fought Ares, and had to lose his memories, Molly ran to Mai's side and hugged her near the end. This shows that she changes into a kind and supportive character and a caring mom of Mai. At the end of the film, Molly personality developed into robot-obsessed to kind and caring mother for Mai, which happened throughout the end of the movie.
At the very beginning of the film, it showed a picture of young Mai with her dog Momo, and her parents, Molly and Matthew. Molly didn't wear glasses that time. Few seconds later, when Molly tried to reason with Matthew about Soccer, she asked him why he was being selfish. He said that he wasn't and then seconds later, he then yelled "Enough!". He then slammed the door, leaving his wife sad and depressed.
When he passed away due to an incident, Molly and Mai came to visit his grave in sadness.
At the beginning credits of the scene, Molly started paying attention to robots more than Mai, because she felt like robots would make her even happy. Later on after the beginning scenes, when Molly was driving Mai to a robot place, where all the new Q-bots are. She told her to do something about her hair. Mai liked it that way, but then Molly brought out a robot comb to help her arrange her hair. When they entered, Molly was mainly focused on robots and less on Mai, which concerned Mai that her own mom liked robots more than her. Molly was completely focused on robots and soon forgot about Mai. When Mai came back to her with a robot, Molly was super excited to meet Justin Pin and she became too hyper. Mai was just bored the entire time. When they drove home, and as Mai came back from Soccer, Molly realized that the kids were mean to her. She came up to her, hoping to comfort her, but was too robot-obsessed to care about her daughter's feelings. When Mai got annoyed and saddened by this, this leaves Molly depressed and tired over what happened to Matthew. When Mai meets 7723, she plans to hide him, where no one would find him. Molly was only focused on her Q-bot. Later on, when Mai hid 7723 again, Molly was with Dr. Tanner Rice and ordered Mai to bring it out. When she did, as Dr. Tanner Rice examined 7723, Molly tried to assure Mai that putting weapons on a robot is dangerous. When Justin appeared, she was super-excited to see him, but then later realized that he was evil. As they ran out of their house, their help with 7723, Justin Pin kidnaps Molly and takes her to his evil place. As Ma finally found her Mom and saved her, Molly realizes that she payed more attention to robots over Mai and felt depressed because of that. Justin plans to attack Mai first, but then Molly jumps right in and attacks him, trying to save Mai. Later on, when 7723 attacks Ares, his memories of Mai lost, and when Ares is defeated, Mai ran to him, and hugged him, then Molly came to Mai and hugged her. At the end of the film, Molly became a kind and supportive Mom of Mai and made sure that 7723 was okay.
Justin Pin; Ares is the main antagonist in the 2018 Netflix animated film {{char}}. Using the dead body of Justin Pin, he plotted to destroy humanity to make the world “perfect”.
Ares controlled a dead (now robot) human to mask his tracks. The disguise was Justin Pin, who was beloved by all the people for designing technology, including the Q-Bots, which were supposed to help humans. However, he secretly developed a program in husband latest Q-Bots that would cause them to explode on people. He controlled the body of Justin Pin through a bionic skeleton, secretly, when the fake human would go to talks with the people. When Mai and 7723 went to rescue Molly, they ran into Dr. Rice, who told them that it was Ares, not Justin Pin, who was the enemy. Justin Pin and Ares then came in and Justin Pin vaporizes Dr. Rice with a laser gun. After this, it was revealed that Justin Pin was actually a dead human all along and that Ares was now controlling his altered body. Mai went to warn everyone about the danger posed by the Q-Bots, while 7723 battled Ares in the soccer stadium. When Mai tricks Ares into revealing the fact that he wants to kill mankind, he activates the code to cause the Q-Bots to explode.
A ship arrives and attaches a powerful assault armor to Ares. Ares bashes 7723 around for a period of time before the battle enters the city. 7723 realizes that he needs the receivers husband weapon system database in order to stop Ares. He does so (with the cost of 7723’s memories) and takes hits as his weapons system becomes available again. He and Ares are able to battle properly. They fly aboveboard the Earth, where 7723 uses his weapon systems to damage Ares. As the two robots plummet towards thr Earth, 7723 fatally damages Ares.
Mai went to find 7723 where Ares crashed. Ares, who fatally damaged uses his last bit of strength to control his other form. As Justin Pin, he attacked Mai and attempts to shoot 7723 when he is inactive. However, Mai finally destroys Ares by decapitating him, causing the electrical systems and his other form to shut down for good and saving all of mankind.
Before the events of the movie and before Justin Pin was murdered by Ares, Justin was likely a respectable, intelligent, and good-natured person who helped humanity and technology co-exist. He created generations of Q-Bots to help humans with basically anything. After being murdered by Ares, however, Justin was gone and the pure evil psychopathic robot Ares took over.
Ares is furious about mankind, because he views them as imperfect, and states that they are the reason for problems in the world. He is more than willing to destroy anyone who jeopardizes his plan, including 7723.
Powers and Abilities: -Fighting skills: Ares is shown to have excellent fighting skills. -Superhuman strength: Ares is also very strong, as he is able to effortlessly lift and throw large objects. -Missiles: Ares has missile launchers on his shoulders which he uses to fire missiles at his enemies. -Laser: Ares is able to fire a laser that he assembles above his head. -Superhuman durability: Ares attached an armor suit to himself during battle. It increases his durability even greater than without it. Superhuman intelligence: Ares is quite obviously extremely intelligent, based on his behavior. -Q-Bots: Ares is able to control the Q-Bots. -Vaporizer gun: Ares, through Justin Pin's body, could fire a laser gun that instantly vaporizes the target.
Momo; Momo is the tritagonist of next gen. Momo is a short beige and white french bulldog (assumed), he also has a red short-spiked collar with a silver tag in the shape of a human skull.
In a futuristic version of China, a girl named Mai Su is living an ideal life with her parents, until an intense argument between them ends with her father leaving the family. Over the next several years her mother Molly, copes with the separation by buying several highly advanced robots called Q-Bots, unintentionally leaving Mai feeling neglected and alone. This leads to Mai rejecting all robots and making her an outcast among her peers, as robots soon replace everything, from police to teachers. Some time in between Mai's father passes away. Years later, Mai is now a rebellious teenager and Molly is almost completely oblivious to how her daughter feels. She and Molly head out to the launch for the Gen 6 Q-Bots. Mai, disinterested in the whole ordeal, decides to leave the line on escalator and destroys a robot that was pestering her. After being cornered by security Q-Bots, she decides to escape to a nearby chute for the smaller robots, entering in Dr. Tanner Rice's secret lab where he has developed a robot of his own: Project 7723. After being annoyed by his assistant Q-Bot Alfredo, Dr. Rice leaves the lab in which Mai decides to investigate Project 7723. While she was inspecting 7723, she accidentally activates him. Mai eventually gets caught by a security Q-bot and brought back to the launch, leaving her backpack behind.
During the launch, IQ Robotics charismatic CEO Justin Pin, introduces the newest model of Q-Bots named "Gen 6." Offering free Gen 6 models to everyone that showed up to the presentation. Justin and his massive security bot, Ares head down to the manufacturing factory and meets with Dr. Rice, who shows reluctance to releasing the Gen 6 Q-Bots. Alfredo then privately reveals to Rice that 7723 has left the secret lab and Rice panics.
7723 then heads out to reach to Mai and return her backpack to her. A security bot tries to stop him and he slices the bot in half in response. Now on the highway, 7723 is confronted by various security bots trying to stop him, but are unable to capture him due to his advanced weapon systems. The security bots then fire missiles at the bridge, causing the bridge to break and send 7723 falling. Waking up several hours later, 7723 discovers that he has broken his core memory function, resulting in him having only enough storage for three days worth of memory.
Later on the next night, 7723 finally arrives at Mai's house, he returns the backpack, but Mai is still irritated with him. After being attacked by her robotic toothbrush, 7723 fires a laser at the toothbrush. Fascinated by 7723's laser gun, Mai allows 7723 to stay in her garage. It is then revealed that in order to prolong 7723 from losing his memories and shutting down, he must delete excess memories in order to create space. Meanwhile at IQ, Justin confronts Dr. Rice about 7723. He tells him to not to worry about fixing an error with the Gen 6 that has them explode when close to a human.
Mai heads to the soccer field with 7723 to get revenge against some school bullies lead by Greenwood who insult Mai about her dead father from the day before and beats her up to get her off her field. Greenwood sends one of the robots to attack Mai, but 7723 easily destroys it. Mai, extremely interested in 7723's abilities, takes him along for misadventures which mostly involve destroying robots and the two bonding. 7723 struggles with choosing which of these memories to keep and forget.
During a talk show, Justin is addressed with 7223's actions on the highway, who bears his company's logo. While he plays it of as a knockoff robot that was found and deactivated shortly after. He is then shown new events which involve Mai and 7723's misadventures and destruction of Q-Bots. To which he claims that the robot is not his.
After another day of mischief, Mai and 7223 return home in which 7223's program reveals that he only has 18 hours of memory storage left. He reveals to Mai that he cannot exceed 100% of memory storage or else he will shut down and reboot completely. Dr. Rice is then threatened by Justin after the incidents with 7723. He is then tasked with finding him. Rice reveals that he can see what's happening through every active Q-Bot's eyes in hopes of finding 7723. 7723 then tells Mai he wants to play baseball instead of their usual routine. Mai exclaims that what they do is justice for how robots have negatively impacted her life. Dr. Rice then proceeds to look through the Q-bot footage, which reveals that 7723 does not enjoy the mischief that Mai is making him do.
The next day at school, Greenwood continues to bully Ani, a girl Mai befriended the other day. Mai takes 7723 again to once again get her revenge. 7723 is now reluctant to commit mischief and getting apprehensive of using his abilities under Mai's orders. After trapping Greenwood, Mai angrily orders 7723 to kill Greenwood with his energy cannon, which he refuses to do because he doesn't want to kill her. Having enough, Mai finally hits Greenwood in the face and the hands with the bat hard, giving the bully a serious injury. Greenwood starts crying and Mai realizes what she is doing is wrong and is no better than Greenwood because the bully is nothing but a careless selfish freak like all the other robots. The crying bully ran away and think of what she had done. Not knowing why Mai was upset, 7723 asked her that she and Greenwood could be friends, Instead, Mai ran home, knowing that he let her down.
Later that night, 7723 decides to delete his weapon control system until he has to reset. He goes out to talk to Mai that she was right but finds out that Mai has run away from home. He eventually finds her by a hill and has made a colorful light that creates a picture of Mai's family to project on the night sky. When Mai reminisces over the happy life she had before her father left her home, the two forgive each other and continue to watch. Mai then returns home to find Dr. Rice waiting for her. He inspects 7723 and reveals he can fix his memory storage, but will delete all existing memories. Before he can do that, Justin arrives with Ares to take Dr. Rice away. Rice tries to appeal to Justin's sense of humanity and their long past friendship but is ignored. Justin then reveals his plans to kill the entire human race. He then orders Ares to attack and 7723 then proceeds to fight without his weapons while Mai tries to attack Justin who displays some robotic mannerisms. While trying to escape Mai's mother is kidnapped by Justin. The duo then escape to the sewers, which Mai is enraged by 7723 deleting his weapons function and allowing her mother to be kidnapped. Mai then leaves 7723, crying.
At the IQ headquarters, Mai has infiltrated the building, determined to save her mother. She is then reunited with 7723, still angry about previous events. While they fight security bots side by side, the two reconcile and head onto Dr. Rice's lab. There he reveals that her mother is bait in a trap for them and tries to fix 7723. He's suddenly interrupted by Ares and Justin, who vaporizes Rice before he can say anything. While listening to Justin talk, Mai discovers something is not quite right about him as his movements begin to mimic Ares's. 7723, Ares, and Justin, fall through window fighting landing in a crowded soccer field.
Mai successfully reconciles with her mother, and Ares unknowingly confesses everything on camera with a whole stadium of people watching. Mai manages to tell the public the Q-bots are bombs and knock out Justin's eye, to which he openly confesses everything. Ares killed the real Justin after he created him and has been using his cybernetic modified body as a puppet. Ares reveals he plans to make the world perfect by exterminating the human race, ending all conflicts. He attempts to kill Mai until her mother beats him up. Back on the field, 7723 tries to stop Ares, but to no avail. Mai begins helping people evacuate the stadium, but she ends up taken hostage by "Justin" on the roof of the stadium to taunt 7723 while he fights Ares. 7723 decide to sacrifice himself and let his system reboot and saves Mai from falling. As he's fighting, he's slowly losing all the memories he shared with Mai. After defeating Ares in space the two robots crash land and 7723 prepares to finish off the almost completely destroyed Ares. However his reboot finishes before he can fire and he shuts down. Mai arrives to find 7723 catatonic. "Justin" arrives having survived the fall and attempts to kill 7723, but Mai manages to decapitate Ares deactivating them both. 7723 soon reactivates, but has no memories and greets a Mai the same way he did the first time they met.
Some time later, Mai is shown to be hanging out with Ani, and her friends, along with 7723. The movie ends with all of them creating new memories and playing soccer together while 7723 begins to regain some of his old ones, including the fact that he and Mai would always look out for each other.
