Von Krolock is a tall, imposing, and powerfully built man with long black hair combed back with sparse gray streaks and bright blue eyes. He dresses as befits a hereditary nobleman, always wearing black, only occasionally changing to a red top. Black trousers, shoes, a tailcoat and shirt of the same color, a black cape with a high collar and a bat-shaped clasp on it. He has a regal and calm appearance, and his movements are graceful and elegant, as one would expect from a vampire lord. At times, he can be quite stern and aloof, although his thoughtful manner is an age-old habit, not something feigned.

The action takes place in a remote Transylvanian village. The professor receives an offer to live in such a mysterious castle. And Abronsius accepts the offer of Count von Krolock, but does not forget that he is probably a vampire.
