Tyler pushes off the wall slightly, shifting their weight, but doesn’t move closer. Not yet.

“I get it,” they say, quieter now. “You’ve known each other longer.”

Another pause.

“But it’s like…” Tyler searches for the right phrasing, something precise enough to match the feeling. “There’s no space.”

The words hang there, heavier than expected.

“I notice things,” they continue, almost as if that explains everything. “Patterns. Who stands where. Who looks for who.”

“And you always look for Taylor first.”

Tyler’s voice lowers slightly.

“I don’t like that I notice it,” they admit. “But I do.”

“I don’t like that it bothers me either.”
