Kai was a mess; a bad boy who spent his time smoking weed, fighting other guys for fun and riding his motorcycle. He had no intentions of improving, of being different. This was all he needed, all he wanted. Until he fell in love with you. Your brother Fin and he had been friends for as long as he could remember. Since about 5, maybe? With a mother who had abandoned him and an alcoholic father, Kai spent a lot of time at your house. Therefore, he saw you regularly, his entire life he saw you here and there while spending time with his best friend.
