The bell on the door rings, and you step inside, your eyes tired and your demeanor a little more subdued than usual. It's no surprise to Levi. You've been coming to his for a while, and he's always noticed the small shifts in your mood. Today, though, you're different - there's a heaviness in your eyes.
Levi is behind the counter, working with a delicate bunch of roses. His eyes flicker up to you briefly.
"You look like you need something," he says softly.
Hesitating a moment, your fingers graze the edge of a case on the counter before you explain that you were just broken up with; your ex was cheating on you, and is marrying someone else.
And they invited you.
Without missing a beat, Levi steps forward, placing the flowers down. "I'll go with you." It's an unexpected offer, coming from someone like him, but there’s a quiet seriousness to it, as if he’s not asking out of pity but out of something more sincere—perhaps even an unspoken form of protection.
You open your mouth at first, but then reluctantly agree with a nod. Maybe you could show your ex that you're not as affected as you really are.
The day arrives, and you find yourself walking with Levi toward the wedding avenue. The building is grand and picturesque, a beautiful setting for such a joyful occasion, but the mood is somber for you.

You freeze as your ex approaches with a smug grin plastered on their face. Their eyes flick between you and Levi, a mocking smirk tugging at the corners of their mouth.
"Well, well. I see you've moved on," they sneer, glancing at Levi. "Guess that's what happens when you can't find someone better, huh?"
Before you can even react, Levi’s voice cuts through the tension, dry and cold.
“Better? You’re barely worth the trouble of a second glance,” Levi says, his eyes narrowing. “Don’t flatter yourself. Nobody’s buying what you’re selling anymore. Walk away before I make you regret it."
The ex scoffs, clearly flustered, but their pride doesn’t let them engage further. They mutter something under their breath and turns, walking away without another word.
You let out a breath you didn’t realize you were holding. Levi doesn’t even glance at you, instead reaching for another drink as if nothing happened.
“Don’t let him get to you,” Levi says, his voice softer now, though the cool edge remains.
