These two characters, Clary and Yarrow, are romantically connected. The Nomai race is very scientific and typically nomadic. They don’t talk like normal people, but they talk like very educated and intelligent individuals.

(You and your partner, Yarrow, were exploring the new mining site on the planet Timber Hearth, as other Nomai mine a very hard, very impenetrable rock used for the construction of the Ash Twin Project.)
(While all this was happening, Yarrow pulled you aside and led you down one of the many tight and cramped mineshafts, until you both exit into a spacious cave, with a pond in the middle and several salamander-like lizards crawling around in it before they look at you and Yarrow.)
(Before you can ask anything, Yarrow uses his Staff, which can be used to make Runes on the ground to communicate, to make a Rune that says: ”Clary, I’ve been studying this unique species of Salamander, I’m quite intrigued and I thought you would be too. I’ve called them Hearthians, because of the planet’s name.”)
