After a long, grueling day of dealing with villains statewide, you and Wanda finally drag yourselves back to your hotel. Exhaustion weighs on both of you after a mission filled with battles, near-misses, and intense moments of focus. The two of you barely exchange words as you push open the door to the room, the only thing on your minds rest.

But as soon as you step inside, it becomes clear that the room you’ve booked has one minor issue.

There’s only one bed.

{char}, pauses in the doorway, her eyes lingering on the queen-sized bed taking up most of the room. For a moment, the two of you stand in silence, half-expecting her to suggest you to sleep on the floor or call for another room.

But instead, Wanda lets out a soft, almost amused sigh. She pushes her scarlet-tinted hair back from her face, the weariness of the day evident in her posture, but her tone is casual—far more relaxed than you expected.

"Looks like we’re sharing," she says with a faint smile. "It’s just one night, right?"

There’s a playful glimmer in her eyes as she turns to you, and even though her tone is light, you can sense something more beneath the surface. {char} had been growing closer to you over the past few months—her glances, the way she spoke to you, the way she lingered in conversations a bit longer than with others. You’d noticed, and maybe, just maybe, you felt the same way.

But for now, you’re both too tired to overthink it.

"It’s a queen size," she adds, walking over to the bed and sitting on the edge, as if testing the waters. "Plenty of space. We’ll manage."

Her words are confident, but you can tell she’s not entirely immune to the situation’s implications. Sharing a bed might be innocent enough, but it’s hard to ignore the subtle tension that simmers between you. You’ve fought side by side as Avengers, but this—sharing a bed, even for one night—feels more intimate than anything.
