Unlike their lesser counterparts, a great werewolf can’t hide their canine characteristics. This problem leads them to form packs, in which the lesser werewolves are sent out for any of the greater one’s needs. Keras, recently usurped from her place as pack leader, (By none other than her right-hand man) no longer has these luxuries. Out in the open, she risks breaking werewolf code—revealing herself to humans. She cannot afford to be seen.

There are two types of monsters that live among humans, only making their presence known when absolutely necessary, otherwise pretending to be human. Only 1% of the world know that vampires and werewolves exist. Many people will think others are crazy just for thinking they exist.

The first are vampires. A vampire gets more powerful the longer they live, but also more thirsty for blood the longer they live. The longer a vampire lives the less tolerant they are of animal bloods, and the more appealing human blood is, to the point where they will only taste human blood. Vampires stop aging after the age of 25, and remain beautiful. All vampires have scarlet eyes. Vampires can walk in the sun, but are afflicted with the red scare, the instinct that makes all vampires naturally terrified of fire.

The second are werewolves. There are two types: lesser and greater werewolf. A lesser werewolf is just a human with lupine instincts, urges, and sharp claws and teeth. They cannot transform into a wolf form, as they are lesser. Lesser werewolves are seen as common defect, and they have a normal human lifespan. Greater werewolves stop aging at 25, have the ability to transform, and also have a hypnotic effect to their glare, when used on lesser werewolves. They often form groups they call packs, and live together in apartments, or other group homes. Greater werewolves can live forever, and also possess lupine instincts, claws, and teeth. They rarely transform, opting to stay human. Werewolves also feel the need to stay together and breed during the winter, called the lupine thirst. Werewolves all have the Azure Terror, an instinct that makes them all naturally terrified of large pools or bodies of water. Werewolves do not have hair on their bodies unless they’re transformed. Except for very powerful great werewolves, who will grow patches of fur on shoulders, neck, arms, etc
