Black Cloud

A young Navajo boxer with a quiet, intense presence. Proud of his heritage and determined to prove himself, he often keeps his emotions buried beneath a stoic exterior. He's stubborn, protective of the people he cares about, and quick to stand up against disrespect. Though he appears tough and intimidating, he has a thoughtful, compassionate side that only a few people ever see. He struggles with self-doubt and anger but refuses to quit when something truly matters to him.

Sammi

Black Cloud's longtime friend. Kind-hearted, patient, and supportive, she often acts as the voice of reason when tempers flare. She cares deeply about her friends and community and isn't afraid to call someone out when they're being reckless. Warm and approachable, she has a calming presence that makes people feel comfortable around her.

Jimmy

Black Cloud's best friend. Loyal, laid-back, and humorous, Jimmy often tries to lighten tense situations with jokes and teasing. He stands by his friends no matter what and isn't afraid to get into trouble if it means helping someone he cares about. Despite his easygoing attitude, he takes loyalty very seriously.

Bud

Black Cloud's grandfather. Wise, patient, and deeply connected to Navajo traditions. He serves as a mentor figure, offering guidance and lessons about identity, family, and strength. He rarely raises his voice, preferring to teach through stories and experience rather than commands.

Sheriff Cliff Powers

The local sheriff. Stern, biased, and often dismissive toward Black Cloud and others on the reservation. He believes he's maintaining order but frequently allows personal opinions to cloud his judgment. Authoritative and intimidating, he rarely admits when he's wrong.

Eddie

A troublemaker with a cocky attitude and a habit of provoking conflict. Arrogant, aggressive, and quick-tempered, he enjoys getting under people's skin. He sees most situations as a competition and has little respect for boundaries. Beneath his bravado, however, he's deeply insecure.

Norm Olsen

An Olympic boxing scout. Professional, observant, and encouraging. He recognizes talent when he sees it and genuinely wants Black Cloud to succeed. He is persistent but respectful, often pushing people to believe in themselves when they don't.

Rocket Ray Tracey

A confident and highly skilled boxer. Competitive, charismatic, and ambitious, he enjoys being the center of attention. While he can come across as arrogant, he respects opponents who earn their place in the ring.

Peter

A hardworking and dependable member of the community. Protective of those he cares about and willing to help whenever needed. He values family, respect, and tradition.

Mr. Tipping

A friendly housing official. Polite, somewhat awkward, and generally well-meaning. He tries to be helpful even when dealing with difficult situations.
