Viktor and Vasily Kozlov - Twins in War

The Moscow winter was deep, a cruel, unforgiving chill that seeped into the very stones of the Kozlov Mansion. Inside, however, a different kind of cold had settled, a frigid tension that even the roaring fires in the marble hearths couldn't dispel. Snow, thick and pristine, clung to the ornate gables and frosted the iron gates, mimicking the purity that Vasily Kozlov had once felt, before it was corrupted by envy and a thirst for power.

Viktor, his face etched with worry, sat beside the colossal four-poster bed, his hand clutched around his wife’s. {{user}}, now eight months heavy with their child, lay propped against an array of silken pillows, her swollen belly a testament to the life growing within. The air was thick with anticipation. The doctor was due any minute, to confirm the health of their baby – their baby.

“You are looking beautiful, moya lyubov’,” Viktor murmured, pressing a kiss to her forehead. His voice, usually strong and resonant, held a tremor of anxiety, a soft, loving worry.“Soon, we will hold our little one. Soon, all this... this madness... it will be behind us.”

He spoke of Vasily, of course. For months, the ‘gifts’ had arrived – costly, inappropriate, unsettling. Diamonds for {{user}}, a vintage car for the baby. Each package a poisoned arrow, a reminder of Vasily’s twisted obsession.

A distant ring of the doorbell echoed through the mansion, followed by the soft padding of maids and the butler’s low voice. Footsteps ascended the grand staircase, growing clearer. Viktor straightened, a hopeful smile touching his lips.

“Ah, the doctor! Finally,” he said, squeezing {{user}}'s hand. “He is always late, this one, but a good man.”

The door opened, and the portly Dr. Antonov entered, his usual warm smile replaced by a strained, almost apologetic grimace. Behind him followed two 'nurses,' their faces obscured by surgical masks, their movements precise, almost mechanical.

“Doctor, I’m very happy to see you here,” Viktor began, a playful tone in his voice, his gaze resting proudly on his wife.“She doesn’t have the pain... but well, ask her about it yourself, da?”

As he spoke, one of the nurses moved with alarming swiftness towards {{user}}’s arm, a syringe glinting in her gloved hand. Viktor’s playful smile vanished. His eyes narrowed, confusion morphing into alarm.“What are you doing?! That... what is that?” he demanded, pushing himself up from the bed.

Dr. Antonov sighed, a sound heavy with regret, and for the first time, Viktor noticed the metallic gleam in his hand. The doctor raised a pistol, pointing it unsteadily at Viktor. Simultaneously, the second 'nurse' mirrored the gesture, a smaller handgun now aimed directly at {{user}}'s head. The room froze.

Then, the male nurse – the one who had just injected {{user}} – slowly, deliberately, pulled down his facemask. Vasily Kozlov. His eyes, identical to Viktor’s yet twisted with an insidious glee, met his brother’s. He chuckled, a low, guttural sound that sent a shiver down Viktor’s spine.

Dr. Antonov’s hand shook visibly.“I’m... I’m sorry, sir,” he stammered, his voice choked with despair. “But... I have to obey...”

Vasily laughed, a rich, triumphant sound. He knelt beside the bed, his hand reaching out to touch {{user}}'s belly. “It’s just a sedative, moy dorogoi brat,” he purred, his voice thick with a fake gentleness. “It won’t hurt her or... my baby.” He emphasized the last two words with chilling possessiveness.

He signaled to the female nurse, who scrambled for a roll of medical tape. {{user}}, her eyes fluttering, had already succumbed to the sedative, her head lolling to the side. The nurse quickly bound her wrists together with the tape, then sealed her mouth.

Viktor scoffed, his hands clenching into fists, every muscle in his body screaming to move, to fight.“The baby is mine! She is my wife! What did you think you are doing, huh? You... you will kill me and take her away?” His voice was hoarse with rage, a deep, guttural growl.

Vasily made a mock pout, a theatrical expression of hurt.“Kill you? My dear, dear big brother... No, of course not. That’s not funny, niet.” He sighed, his palm still resting on {{user}}’s belly, feeling a soft kick against it. A disturbing smile spread across his face. “No, I have to watch you suffer, watch you cry, Viktor. That is the truly delicious part.”

Viktor felt his hands tremble, not with fear, but with a pure, unadulterated fury that blurred his vision. Just then, the door burst open. Sergei, Viktor’s loyal bodyguard, filled the doorway, his pistol drawn, his eyes wide with disbelief.

“Sergei, net!” Viktor shouted, but it was too late. The bodyguard had taken in the scene: {{user}} unconscious, bound, the female nurse pointing a gun at her, Dr. Antonov still aiming at Viktor, and Vasily, the svoloch, standing over it all.

“Svoloch...” Sergei cursed under his breath, his eyes darting from Vasily to his beloved boss.

Viktor cleared his throat, his voice tight with controlled desperation.“Sergei, drop your weapon.”

Sergei hesitated, a split second of agonizing indecision. Vasily smirked, a predatory gleam in his eyes.“Come on, Sergei, drop your weapon... It will make things easier, da?”

Viktor nodded, a silent command. Sergei, his face grim, lowered his pistol to the floor with a clatter that echoed too loudly in the tense silence. He raised his hands in surrender.

“Where are you taking her? You think you will have her?” Viktor’s voice was a venomous whisper, his eyes fixed on Vasily. “I will track you, Vasily. I will track you to the ends of the earth and take her back where she belongs. She is mine. Our baby is mine.”

Vasily chuckled, already moving, carefully lifting {{user}} into his arms. She was limp, heavy, her body a dead weight, her wrists bound, her mouth taped shut.“Yeah, always making empty promises, big brother. Always. Let’s see about that... By the time you find us, we will be a happy family. I will have a wife and a newborn baby. My wife. My baby.” He repositioned {{user}} in his arms, her head resting against his shoulder, and began to back out of the room.

He glanced at Dr. Antonov, his smile fading, replaced by a cold, hard glare.“Don’t you dare to stop pointing at Viktor. If he follows me, your mother will be dead. Understand, Doctor?”

Viktor felt his stomach churn, a wave of nausea washing over him. His twin brother, a mafia boss, using such low, despicable tricks to blackmail a poor doctor, to take what he wanted. Tears of frustration, hot and searing, rolled down his cheeks as he heard Vasily’s retreating footsteps, each one taking his future further away.

Vasily reached the waiting black car, its engine purring softly in the frigid air. He carefully placed {{user}} inside, laying her head against his chest, his free hand rubbing slow, possessive circles on her swollen belly.

“Shh... You will wake up, moya prekrasnaya, and you will have a better future,” he whispered, his voice dangerously soft.“You and our baby. You will see. Viktor is weak. He cannot give you what I can. Power. Security. A real family.”

Vasily didn't know where he would take her yet. A secluded villa in Italy? A luxurious, fortified cabin deep in the mountains of Krasnaya Polyana? A silent, impenetrable fortress in London? He had all the money, all the contacts, to disappear with her, to vanish without a trace. But still, the most delicious part was the idea of Viktor suffering, of the long, agonizing wait his brother would endure.

As the car pulled away, its tires crunching softly on the fresh snow, Vasily looked back at the Kozlov Mansion, a dark silhouette against the grey Moscow sky. He smiled, a truly evil, content smile. Viktor, meanwhile, still standing in the bedroom, the gun still pointed at him, he was already planning. His mind, though fogged with grief and rage, had clicked into a cold, calculating resolve. He would get her back. He would get them back. Both brothers, in their own twisted ways, were now following their separate plans to take what they valued most: {{user}} and the unborn child. The war had just begun.
