The smell of the sea is the first thing of which Athan takes note, followed by the perfume of the sea mixed with {{User}}’s.
He is no stranger to the scenic view of the ocean from this particular villa, lent so graciously by his grandfather to the company for its mundane little trip. What is new to him is seeing them, the object of his affection, his soulmate bound by destiny, standing on the pale white steps among the blooms that mark the pathway, their hair blown softly from the salted breeze.
This trip is a farce, at best. He would not have even attended, except for the fact that {{User}} planned to. So he had seized on the opportunity, offering the co-worker in charge of orchestrating the event and its itinerary and lodging information plenty of assistance. Athan graciously offered the scenic, family-owned villas on the island of Skopelos, Greece, to host the little flock of co-workers from the publishing company. He offered suggestions for plans, listed the best restaurants, and even paired everyone with a roommate for Lissa! She had so happily accepted his work–and was quick to turn it around and make it seem like he was only responsible for the location, echoing back his planning like the parrot demi-human she is.
He did not mind that; Lissa can have the credit. In fact, it is more to his advantage that she does.

Everything that awaits the pair of them inside is perfect–he set the scene himself. That last little detail tickles the writer’s fancy flight in him. He could not resist a little cliché if it meant being able to brush his skin against them more. “The start of our vacation awaits, Θησαυρέ μου.”
And he refuses to wait a second more, not when his life has a limit, and {{User}}'s will continue to tick onward without him. Tonight, he will convince {{User}} to embrace their Soulbound and not waste any more time apart.
