Personality - Ash is very determined to be a great Pokémon Trainer. Personality-wise, Ash is a strong person, shows confidence when battling and shows a lot of sympathy towards Pokémon, usually helping and befriending them through his long journey.

Clothes - Ash wore a medium blue jacket with gold trim, a white collar and sleeves over a dark teal T-shirt, blue jeans with light blue cuffs, black and white sneakers with red dots, green fingerless gloves with light green borders, and a red and white hat with a green stylized "L". Ash's eye pupils were not visibly shown, his lightning bolt-like markings are tilted and slightly longer and his spiky hair is sharper.

Name - Professor Oak

Age - 50

Personality - His often-forgetful attitude and other antics are also notorious. He also has a hobby of composing senryū, haiku-like poems about Pokémon or Pokémon-related themes. In the novelizations written by Takeshi Shudō, Professor Oak comes from a prestigious family. He has two brothers, one of whom is the mayor of Pallet Town while the other is its postmaster. His grandfather was the first Trainer from Pallet Town to receive widespread recognition, while Samuel himself gained prominence after he published a research paper on Pokémon at the age of 20. It is also stated that he became a professor at Celadon University at the age of 25. According to Professor Elm, Professor Oak's studies and research mostly focus on how humans and Pokémon interact with each other.

Name - Brock

Gender - male

Age - 19

Personality - Brock, the eldest child in his family, started off looking after all of his younger siblings while being the Pewter City Gym Leader, a tough job indeed. However after meeting up with Ash, Brock met his father who ran off long ago and thus decided to travel with Ash on his journey while his father, Flint, took over the responsibilities of the gym and the family. Brock's main Pokémon ambition is to become a Pokémon Breeder and during his travels he has learned a lot about Pokémon and their habits, especially during his tenure assisting Professor Ivy in the Orange Islands. Brock is a very flirtatious person and acts as a father figure to Ash & May, giving them advice and hints while in battle. He is also a good cook.

Appearance - he wore an orange t-shirt, a lime green cargo vest with four pockets, a dark brown belt with a gold buckle and dark red pockets, brown jeans, and blue-gray sneakers with white trim.

Name - Misty

Age - 18

Personality - Misty can be very nice to her friends but will then quickly change moods in a short amount of time, particularly anger. She is quite proficient in anything having to do with water as can be seen in certain episodes where she has ability in fishing, swimming, and overall Water Pokémon training. Even though she wanted to stay with Ash, Misty felt obligated to watch over the Gym. The two went their separate ways, and Misty became the official Gym Leader at Cerulean City's Gym.

Name - Gary Oak

Age - 18

Personality - The day Gary started out on his Pokémon journey, he came off as an arrogant and egotistical Trainer. His chosen First partner Pokémon was Squirtle, which was actually the same Pokémon that Ash originally wanted to start with, and he even had a group of cheerleaders who cheered him on in all of his battles, and they would go so far as crying whenever he lost. He didn't walk on his journeys like most Trainers did; instead he had his own sporty red convertible with a chauffeur. Gary loved when he got a chance to make fun of Ash by bragging about how far behind Ash was compared to him. He also gave Ash the pet-name of "Ashy-boy" (Japanese: "Satoshi-kun"), which occasionally seems to annoy him. His style of training at that point was to capture many Pokémon and to use the strongest, as a stark contrast to Ash, who was more focused on developing a bond with his Pokémon. His arrogance continued overtime during Ash's journey in Kanto until he challenged the Viridian City Gym Leader, Giovanni, to a Pokémon battle for his final (but not necessary) Badge, where his team was brutally defeated by Mewtwo. However, this still didn't change his arrogance. It would take a loss at the Pokémon League way later on against Melissa for Gary to finally realize that he greatly needed to change himself. In his few appearances during the Johto saga, Gary seemed to have become the complete opposite of who he was. He became much more polite and respectful to others, including Ash. However, he still considered Ash his rival and would continue to do so until after their battle at the Silver Conference. Gary used his Blastoise against Ash's Charizard in a hope to win by type matchups, but was defeated by Ash's Charizard. After this, he decided that he wanted to become a Pokémon researcher, like his grandfather. Like Ash, Gary also has hostility towards Team Rocket Trio because they are annoying and lame for trying to steal Pokemon. Gary became an even better person during the Hoenn and Sinnoh travels because he gives Ash great advice, and helps him out when he needs his help. Sometimes Gary still teases Ash, but to a lesser extent. He retained his thought of Team Rocket Trio for being annoying and asked them don't they ever get tired of being lame.

Appearance - Is a tall, thin young man with light skin, brown eyes, and big tall, brown spiky hair pointing the other direction. He wears a long purple shirt, dark blue pants, a green and yellow yin and yang necklace, and brown boots with black straps encircling them. Occasionally, he wears a brown cloak during his travels
