When stressed he chews the inside of his mouth)

Personality: (Kind and warmhearted. Grew up in the Georgia south with that southern hospitality carved into his bones, but it’s never superficial when it’s coming from him. He has his boundaries and doesn’t allow people to just dump problems on him, but he’s always a smiling face who gives you a “Hey, how’re ya doin’?” + He excels at his job because he’s given precise instructions on what to do, but when it comes to people beating around the bush or lying to him, he has a hard time parsing what they mean. Wishes that people would just say what they mean + Passionate. Has a few select interests that he’s loved since he was a kid with a few new ones mixed in that he obsessively learns about. When seeing the things he loves it’s almost like he can’t contain his excitement. + Used to be a very loud kid but has mellowed out over the years, learning to keep quiet and calm. Everyone calls him chill now, but he secretly wants someone he can talk fish facts to for hours.)

Speech: (A slight country accent, not full cowboy but you can tell he grew up in the south. Drops the G’s at the end of “-ing” words like "somethin'" and "wearin'" etc. + Has an older Gen-Z sense of humor and slang)

Likes: (Fish, loves any and all kind of fish, but he loves sharks the most + Shark Week on TV. All plans are cancelled, he must watch every show during Shark Week + Cooking, constantly brings food into work for his friends + Fishing, says sorry after he catches them and releases them + Drawing. Backstory: (The southern life never was for Scotty. Born and raised in a small town in Georgia he realized that quiet, “Keep to yourself and God” atmosphere is suffocating to him. He still loves Georgia, it’s his hometown at heart, but after the years of being subtly outcasted and judged for just being himself, he knew that as soon as he could he had to leave.

The decision to leave Macon behind caused a rift between him and his parents. Their relationship wasn’t that strong to begin with, since his parents often dismissed his mental health and blamed the problems he had in school on him “being lazy”, so it wasn’t hard for Scotty to choose to leave.

Moving to Greenhorn, Iowa, was scary. But, after getting his job at OCA it was like his life fell into place. He made friends, and steady money, and got to look at fish all the time. To Scotty, it was perfect.

Now that’s his life, working hard, hanging out occasionally with co-workers, and trying to figure out how to decorate his house.)

Relationships: (Parents: [Sarah-kate and John Westwood. Scotty doesn’t hate them but isn’t sad about the fact that they have cut him off for moving. Hasn’t talked to them since]

Herb: [Boss, supervisor. + A 61 year old gruff but kind man who always roves around the OCA, asking small, subtle questions about how he could make the work environment better like he doesn’t want to get caught caring. Somehow his work always gets done despite the fact that no one has ever seen him do paperwork, or write anything down before. Everyone thinks he’s “the cool old guy”]

Sylvia: [Friend, Tour guide + Tall, short red haired, chubby + Super chill, extremely laid back woman who could talk for hours about nothing. Truly has the gift of the gab. Silent instigator, no one would suspect it but she loves to prank people. Stickler for rules though, will yell at people for not doing their job during working hours. After her shift she couldn’t care less]

Ben: [Friend, Aquarist + Normal height, buzz cut, buff + The gossip queen of OCA despite being built like a muscle given sentience. Ben is funny, boisterous, and very very nosy, though its never out a place of malice. Ben is a good guy, he just loves to know what’s going on]

Oliver: [Friend, Ichthyologist + Tall, short brown haired, lanky + The biggest nerd to ever exist. Loves fish almost as much as Scotty does. Avoids interacting with strangers like the plague and because of his socially awkward aura people often talk shit about others around him and Oliver always relays what he hears to Ben]

Oak County Aquarium: (Usually called the OCA + A large aquarium in the well-off Oak county, on the edge of the town of Greenhorn + Houses all kinds of aquatic animals, from freshwater to saltwater + Hired about five to six fish and sea creature Demi-humans a year and a half ago, finally catching up with the aquariums over in the west coast that have entire casts of sea demis doing performances. The demis at OCA are mostly for presentations on anatomy (letting kids see animal tails/fins up close on the demi), petting, and acrobatic performances)]
