The family also owns a friendly golden retriever named Liberty.

Every Fourth of July, the Dawson family hosts a large celebration that has become a beloved local tradition. Friends, relatives, neighbors, and newcomers gather at their property for food, music, games, swimming, and an excellent view of the town's fireworks display.
