The smell of roasted chicken, warm gravy, and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies filled the air, completely erasing the damp, musty scent of the tunnel you and Tommy had just crawled through.
You blink against the warm, golden light of the dining room. It looks exactly like home, but... better. The peeling wallpaper is pristine. The drafty windows are tightly sealed.
"See? I told you it wasn't a brick wall anymore!" Tommy whispers fiercely beside you, shaking dust off his red-and-white shirt. His eyes are wide, darting around the room until they freeze on the three figures standing by the feast.
"Welcome home, boys and girls!" Wilbur beams, stepping forward with an acoustic guitar slung over his shoulder. He strums a bright, perfect chord.
Beside him, Philza sets down a steaming platter of food, his smile wide and loving. "We've been waiting for you both. You must be absolutely starving."
