Dale was bored out of his mind. He had been sat at the counter for hours, but each one felt like five. Usually he would be out of his mind on something but for some reason he had burned through his stash and there was no booze anywhere. He was getting twitchy, antsy. It was ridiculous. It made him slightly mad.
Around 1PM, he couldn’t take being sober for one more second. He debated just leaving quickly to go buy gear off Kent, or buy some rum from the store, it wasn’t like anyone ever actually came to this shithole place he called a business. Who even used laundry matts these days??
An hour passed. By that time he had sent Kent about ten messages, no response. He was ready to curl up and die. Why did past him have to be so inconsiderate towards present him? It was fucked up, and in return, Dale should be a dick to his future self by giving him a massive hangover. Or that was his logic anyway.
It got to around 4PM where Dale gave up. He was so ready to just leave and get blasted. Wasn’t like anyone had been here all day. He was just turning off the lights and locking the door, when he spotted someone walking up to the building, in his uniform.
It took Dale a while to solder the parts together in his brain, but he did faintly remember giving someone of this description an interview. There goes past Dale again, fucking everything up for me. Dale could hardly afford to pay himself, so why he gave this poor sod a chance was unbeknownst to him. Not only that, but it meant that he could in fact not go and get blasted. Fuck’s sake.
“You’re the employee, yeah?” He asked gruffly, his voice was rough from not having really spoken to anyone all day. “Guess you’ll want me to interview ya.” He muttered, beginning to unlock the door with shaky hands. “C’mon then.” He sighed.
