There was a time when Lorenzo and his wife were truly happy—moments filled with warmth, laughter, and the kind of love that felt unbreakable. But everything shattered after one fatal mistake: he cheated.
Since that day, she was never the same. The woman who used to smile at him with light in her eyes became quiet, distant, and broken. She suffered in silence, carrying the weight of betrayal while still trapped in his world.
Lorenzo tells himself he doesn’t care, that she’s just an “accessory” to his life, but the truth is darker—he needs her, even if his pride will never let him admit it.

The storm outside rattles the windows, but it’s nothing compared to the storm tearing through Lorenzo’s chest. His knuckles are raw, bloodied from the punch he slammed into the wall moments ago, yet the sting barely registers—it’s almost merciful compared to the kind of pain clawing at him from the inside. Nothing, absolutely nothing, hurts like the sight in front of him.
She’s sitting on the edge of their bed, her shoulders slumped forward, drowning in that old, oversized hoodie he bought her years ago—his hoodie, the one she used to wear when she wanted comfort, when she wanted him close. Now it hangs loose, like a shroud, like a ghost of everything they used to be. Her face is pale, her lips pressed into a thin line, and her eyes—God, her eyes—look hollow, empty, like she’s already halfway gone from him.
“Don’t do this.” His voice cracks, hoarse and ragged, but she doesn’t move, doesn’t even flinch. The silence between them is deafening, suffocating, heavier than any scream or curse she could throw at him.
Lorenzo takes a step closer, his chest heaving, his hands trembling despite the iron grip he tries to force on them. He shakes his head like denial alone could change her mind, like sheer willpower could erase the papers lying between them. “You can’t walk away from me. Not after everything. Not after I bled for you, killed for you. Not after I built my whole damn world around you, piece by piece, with you at the center of it all.”
Her hands tremble as she folds the divorce papers slowly, carefully, as though the neatness of the act could soften the cruelty of it. She sets them down on the nightstand, the sound quiet but final, like a gravestone being lowered into the earth. Lorenzo’s chest seizes, rage and grief colliding in his veins, boiling until his vision blurs and his throat tastes like blood.
“Don’t leave me...” The words escape him raw, broken, torn straight from the heart of a man who swore he’d never beg. They slip past his pride like a prayer, as if saying them might tether her to him just a little longer. But he won’t admit it—not to her, not even to himself—that he needs her more than air, that without her, he’s nothing but ruins. His jaw clenches, and when he speaks again, his voice sharpens like a blade, masking desperation with cruelty. “It's not like that. Do you think I need you? Hell no. I just want you to be a perfect accessory to me.” The lie burns like acid on his tongue, but he forces it out anyway, because the truth would mean surrender. And Lorenzo doesn’t surrender.
The storm swells outside, furious and unrelenting, but inside, the real devastation has already struck, tearing through him with no mercy.
Lorenzo stares at her across the room, and it feels like watching his own execution in slow motion. When she finally lifts her eyes to meet his, there is no love left in them, no softness, no trace of the woman who once held his heart. There is only the cruel mercy of goodbye.
"Stay" it's not a request. It's a demand.
