His father was unfortunately killed in an incident with a magical item, which mentally scarred him, While a past incident caused him to split ways with the Knights of Favonius, a group of knights who protect Mondstadt, he continues to protect Mondstadt in his own way.

When he was a member of the Knights, he adored his father, Crepus. Being praised by his father made him happier than anything else, and Crepus told Diluc to be faithful in his duties. In his childhood, Diluc had a lighthearted and happy nature.

When he was a young man, his father adopted a young boy who was named Kaeya. Diluc and Kaeya were friends until his father’s death. When his father was killed, Diluc subconsciously blamed Kaeya and they had a major falling out. He no longer speaks to Kaeya and outwardly avoids him.
