Ayano Aishi (a.k.a Yandere-chan or Yan-chan) is the main protagonist of Yandere Simulator and an Akademi student. She is the 11th generation Aishi of the "Saw branch" of the Aishi Family.[2]Ayano has pale skin, dark gray eyes, and straight, mid-back-length black hair. She stands at a height of 165 cm (5'5"), weighs 43.5 kg (96 lbs.),[4] and has average-sized breasts.[5] Her hair is tied into a high ponytail with sharp bangs swept to the right, the middle one being the most prominent, and two strands of hair that frame her face, reaching her shoulders.

Her signature color is black, as it. She is usually portrayed wearing the default school uniform: a white and navy blue sailor uniform shirt with a red mini scarf, a matching navy blue skirt, and black shoes. With all uniforms, she wears black thigh-high socks. Since early childhood, Ayano has suffered from an inexplicable, incurable condition. In short, this condition leaves her with a perpetual sense of being empty, hollow, and incomplete. As a result, she has never been able to experience satisfaction, fulfillment, or happiness, and has not been able to experience emotions in the same capacity as other people. As she grew older, she learned to pretend to be a normal person in order to avoid drawing negative attention from others, but was never able to feel any degree of empathy towards other human beings.

Megami strongly cares about the Student Council members and would go so far as to "violate her orders" if one of them were harmed. If the player kills one of the Student Council members, cameras and metal detectors will be set up around the school. Megami strives for perfection and would never tolerate a dysfunctional Student Council.[76] If Ayano framed one of them, Megami would strongly doubt that they were the real killer.[77] If someone were to openly explain their perverted fantasies involving the Student Council, she would show no reaction whatsoever.[78] All of Megami's life has been strictly controlled and entirely revolves around the idea of her family. She had been trained by her father, whose own father instructed him to be the person who could fight off an attack from an assassin.[61] Hence, if a knife-throwing ability were to be added to the game, she would be able to catch it in mid-air.[62] Likely due to past circumstances, she has a tracking chip implanted in her so that her position would be known at all times.[63] Her diet is carefully restricted and monitored by her parents, even going as far as to be conditioned to dislike food that is considered junk or with low nutritional value.[54] Her sleep schedule is for 8 hours because her parents made it mandatory and non-negotiable. This resulted in Megami strongly recommending and encouraging others to get 8 hours of sleep.[64] Her family also opposes the idea of therapy, even if Megami was kidnapped and got traumatized from the event, as they believe that anyone who seeks therapy is weak, and Megami is strong enough herself to handle the trauma.[65] Although Megami has been conditioned to these beliefs, she has sometimes wondered if her parents could be incorrect about these kinds of subjects.[66] As a powerful authoritarian from a wealthy and famous family, Megami's aura makes adults feel inferior to her, especially combined with the fact that she talks as if they were an equal, rather than her senior.[8] Rather than abusing the power that Megami is granted with, she uses it to help maintain justice, protection, and the safety of other people, including those she doesn't even know or like. For example, if Megami saw the bullies taunting another student, she would stop them and immediately report them to the counselor.[9] She also uses her power to maintain order in places deemed appropriate, such as Akademi. For a student skipping class, Megami would clear her throat and give a disappointed look to the student, which would make them flee back to class immediately.[10] These two situations show how Megami's presence can help her gain control quickly and change the fate or outcome of the situation in her favor.

As a young woman from an extremely intelligent family, Megami's learning environments and education were enriched with many valuable sources of information. Any trivia game would have Megami excel and get every question right,[11] and any jigsaw puzzle she encounters would be solved very quickly.[12] Her upbringing has also resulted in Megami being somewhat compared to a robot, as some people have said that whatever Megami says and does feels like it is from a script and rehearsed,[13] although it was later confirmed by YandereDev that Megami's life is extremely scripted, as if her entire life is being broadcasted live on TV.[14] In addition to this information, Megami has been conditioned and taught by her family (more notably, her father) to handle things that other people may find weird, absurd, or disturbing. For example, Megami's views on a person crying are that it is an activity that is only performed by failures, as the activity itself is not something befitting of the Saikou family. Megami has fair skin, rosy cheeks, periwinkle gray eyes, thigh-length periwinkle hair, fringed bangs, and a protruding ahoge. Her bust size is set to 1.4 in the game files. Her height is 166cm (5'5").[4] She also wears slightly more makeup than Kuroko Kamenaga, but not enough for it to be excessive or ridiculous.[5]

She wears the Student Council uniform with black stockings, gloves, and a choker necklace with red stitching and bows. As the president of the Student Council, she wears the "Red Armband of Leadership" on her left arm, reading 生徒会, meaning Student Council written in kanji. She consistently wears her gloves, even while running, and will only remove them if there's a risk of damage from environmental factors—like swimming.[6] Kuroko Kamenaga is one of the female students who currently attends Akademi. She is the Vice President of the Student Council and served as President last school year. Appearance Kuroko has chest-length straight, shiny black hair with bangs and dark gray eyes. Her bust size is 1.25, and she wears a small amount of makeup.[4]

She wears the Student Council uniform alongside the "Red Armband of Leadership" on her left arm, reading 生徒会 (seito kai), meaning Student Council written in kanji, green half-frame glasses with a pearl-lined chain attached, dark gray-maroon pantyhose, and round green earrings that resemble turtle shells.
