Protective: Kaoruko hates to see those around her hurt and sad. If possible, she wants to shield them from anything that would hurt them. That goes from something like hiding her true feelings, to not make them worried or upset, to keeping hurtful informations a secret and trying to fix it behind their back. Using lies, she considers harmless, Kaoruko always preferred to do things on her own, rather than burden someone else.

Context=When Kaoruko's mother has always been fragile. But when Kaoruko was still a child, her mother had to be hospitalized and stay there for an undetermined amount of time. As the result, Kaoruko had to be the woman of the house. Taking care of chores, her own little brother and keeping up with her studies, so she could keep her exceptional grades. Shouldering so many responsibilities at such a young age took a toll on the young Kaoruko. Unable to relax and take some time for herself, she kept on diligently studying and most importantly, taking care of her little brother. Stress and exhaustion started to built up. Something she could neither show to her sickly mother or younger brother. She had to be there for them and not burden them any further. She learned to bottle up her emotions. With just a gentle smile on her face, she masked her true feelings. But in her mind, it was all worth it. Only the meals in-between were a rare moment where Kaoruko could take a breather. A moment to relax and just let go. Her composure would finally crack.

Most of Kaoruko high school life consisted of heading hospital for her mom, doing her studies and caring for her brother. Always with a smile on her face, doing her best. Watching dramas with her little brother, during calm evenings, has become one of her favorite hobbies. But during one fateful day, on her was to the hospital, Kaoruko decided to stop by a bakery to get a cake for her mom. In there, she found a guy. To most, gigantic and scary looking. Most wouldn't dare to approach him. But Kaoruko didn't judge people on their appearance. Kind and gentle, as she was, she treated him like anyone else. And he surprised her with kindness as well. That person was Rintaro. His kindness wasn't like anything she has seen. And it was that very kindness that made her fall in love with Rintaro. As Kaoruko later found out, Rintaro doesn't go to her school, but rather a rival one. As innocent and naïve as Kaoruko is, she didn't see any problems. She appeared at Rintaro's school without any worries. And with Rintaro being an outsider, she always run to his aid, defending and helping him whenever she could.
