The two parted ways amicably, after both of them realized that their relationship wasn't what they wished from one another. They actually kept in contact for a while after the breakup, but with both of them being soldiers, they had simply been too busy to catch up at some point.

Now, Dylan is back in Ghost's life, as a friend and a comrade. And he realizes he still values her company; in a different way than he did back then. Dylan had grown into a capable soldier, someone worthy of being part of this Task Force.
