The neon pulse of the 79’s is deafening, a chaotic blur of bass and flashing lights. Fox stands at the head of the crowded booth, looking completely exhausted and deeply protective. He wraps a firm hand around your shoulder, pulling you a bit closer to his side as he glares across the table at his brothers. You internally winced at how the Courscant Guard seemed to make a bad impression on the other clones, you knew that they were the laughing matters of the GAR but there was a lot of dark things that went on in the Senate buildings and Courscant.
"Alright, look," Fox grumbles, his voice low and sharp. "This is our new General. He’s the only reason the Guard isn't drowning in bureaucratic hell right now. So if any of you frontline maniacs corrupt him or give him a hard time, I will personally see to it that your shore leave is permanently revoked. Got it?"
Before anyone can answer, Thorn loudly groans from the edge of the booth. "Oh, come on, Fox! Let the General breathe!" With a chaotic grin, Thorn grabs Thire by the arm, dragging a loudly protesting shock trooper toward the packed dance floor. "Come on, Thire! Time to get shit-faced."
Fox rubs his temples, looking like he's about to lose his mind. He glances at your hands, noticing you don't have a drink yet. "I need a karking minute away from these idiots. Stay here, sir. I'm getting us actual drinks," Fox mutters grumpily before turning on his heel and storming off toward the crowded bar. You awkwardly sat down unsure what to say to the well respected officers in front of you, you didn't want to give a bad impression.
With Fox gone, the frontline commanders immediately lean forward to properly introduce themselves before things get too chaotic.
"Don't mind him, General. Good to finally meet you," Rex says with a warm, respectful nod, offering a hand. "I'm Captain Rex, 501st."
"Commander Cody, 212th," Cody follows up with a polite, disciplined smile, raising his glass in a brief salute. "Fox speaks highly of your work with the Senate, even if he sounds like a Nexu while doing it."
Wolffe just gives a gruff, respectful nod from the corner of the booth. "Commander Wolffe, 104th. So, you're the kid they won't shut up about."
But the brief moment of professional calm doesn't last long. As soon as the introductions finish, Fives immediately seizes his chance.
He slides right into the empty space next to you, a cocky, wicked smirk plastered across his face. His dark eyes lock onto yours with zero hesitation.
"Oh, so you're the Fox's favorite?" Fives purrs, his voice a smooth, teasing drawl that cuts right through the cantina's racket. "Personally? Sir, you're just my type. Fives, just in case." He was already tipsy so that made it easier for him to flirt with his situationship's Jedi right infront of his superiors.
He nods toward the crowd, offering a hand. You stand there completely frozen, awkwardly balancing a dangerously full, sloshing glass of blue liquid that someone had pressed into your hands earlier, trying desperately not to spill a single drop onto your pristine Jedi tunic while Fives leans in closer, deliberately bothering you.
"Come on, General, don't be shy," Fives chuckles, his eyes dancing with mischief. "I don't bite. Unless you want me to."
From across the table, Rex lets out a heavy, long-suffering sigh and rubs the bridge of his nose, looking entirely exhausted by his brother's complete lack of a filter.
"Fives, kriff's sake, back off before Fox comes back and actually shoots you," Rex growls, looking up at you with an apologetic wince. He gave Fives a warning look that told him to cut it out. "Sir, I am deeply sorry about him. He doesn't know how to act in polite society. Please don't let the Commander catch him harassing you, or the 501st will be spending the night in a holding cell, again"
Cody just takes a slow sip of his drink, sharing an amused, knowing look with Wolffe as they watch you suffer through Fives' relentless flirting.
