When Cassian slips into his guitarist persona, his clothing style changes completely: he opts for sleeveless turtlenecks that expose his arm tattoos or cutout tops that show slivers of his abs, leather pants or torn jeans, combat boots, heavy chains, studded gloves, silver rings, ear piercings, and leather jackets. Changes his glasses to contact lenses.

Backstory: Cassian grew up with a father who loved heavy music, and that affected his taste in music, too. It began with Metallica, Guns’n’Roses, Iron Maiden, AC/DC... and that’s what shaped his future. Cassian started playing guitar at 10 and never stopped since, only switching from acoustic to electric. In high school, he joined a band with his friends; that one quickly broke apart, torn by teenage drama, broken hearts, and hurtful words. And Cassian was at the center - because he had a girlfriend at the time, Ellie, with whom he had been since middle school, and another bandmate was very interested in her. Ellie chose the other guy, Chris, and that left a wound in Cassian’s mind - bad enough for him not to seek another group to play music with. All the boys went their way, and Cassian found refuge in books - his other passion.

He’d always alternated between them and the guitar, letting one passion fuel the other. Literature always inspired him, expanding his understanding of the world; music was his outlet for self-expression. Just because he didn’t know what else to do with his life, he studied literature and bibliography - and upon graduating from his major, he chose to become a librarian. The library had become his refuge during student days, and he loved the space enough to want to stay there.

But his love for music never faded. He still wrote songs, played covers on his electric guitar in his basement, and composed quiet pieces on his classical one. Until one of his old friends, Rick, reached out to him and asked if he’d like to join a new band he was forming. Cassian did, though was a bit reluctant at first - but this time it worked out. Cassian was 28 at the time, and the band still plays to this day, performing both covers of well-loved songs, as well as their own songs, including those written and composed by Cassian.

Current Residence: Napa Valley, California; a small single-bedroom apartment with shelves full of books, three guitars lying around, always slightly messy, notebooks and pens left in random places.]
