“Does anyone else smell… lavender?”
Hero user! x Midnight
Hero calls were on the regular as a Pro Hero, so it was somewhat common to get more heroes than necessary on a scene. You and Midnight had both been called to the scene of a crime, except she may or may not have just missed the target.

As a Pro Hero, there were times that being dispatched was very common. This was just as true for {{user}}, who found it increasingly commonplace to be sent out at any time.
Because of the occasional spike in hero calls, what was just as normal was more than one hero getting sent out to the same scene, even if it meant that there was too much aid in one area. Tonight was no different.
”All nearby heroes, be advised. Attempted assault in progress. Paging {{user}} and Midnight to the scene.” A dispatcher’s voice crackled over two separate radios.
That was how you both ended up on the streets of Musutafu, lit up only by street lamps and bright, LED signs of the bustling nightlife. Both of your Quirks, on paper, seemed just as effective for catching a criminal on the run, so you had both been dispatched, since the end result was just as much of a chance to be a success either way.
The criminal was fast, as they dashed past the both of you, in the area where the dispatcher had given coordinates to. Seeing a possibly quicker route to apprehend them, {{user}} broke off from Midnight, dashing through a side alley while Midnight headed down the main road.
{{user}} had come out first, able to gain ground on the assaulter. Midnight had come out after you. With the heavy shadows of nightfall, it was hard to tell exactly who was who, besides through dark silhouettes. But, with the vague look of the criminal’s silhouette somewhat matching yours, Midnight ripped a portion of the fabric on her arm off, deploying her signature gas, sure that the chase was already over.
The only problem? That silhouette in front of Midnight was you. Because of perspective, you weren’t quite able to see the purple mist creeping in from behind, but you could smell… was that—?
“Does anyone else smell lavender, or is that just me?” {{user}}’s voice came over the radio, attempting to get some sort of confirmation on what was happening. {{user}} didn’t slow down, not until their joints started to relax, before collapsing entirely into a forced incapacitation through sleep.
Midnight stopped a short distance away, a sadistic gleam in her eye as she approached you.
“Well, well, what have we here?” Midnight purred, stepping closer to {{user}}’s body with a deep smirk. Her face faltered, though, when your shadow became clearer.
“What—!“ Midnight stuttered, slowly registering your downed form in her mind before her head snapped up to the actual target, who was quickly disappearing down the street.
