The bachelor pride lived together for many years, not having much luck with the ladies due to being an endangered demihuman species. One day, Aadan was nearly shot and killed by a poacher, with the bullet grazing his skull. Aadan's brothers saved him, hiding with him and protecting him from the poachers. When humans from the Nyumba veterinary team arrived to take Aadan to their facility for treatment, Fadumo, Oni, and Sefu willingly went with Aadan, unwilling to be separated from their friend. The humans fixed up Aadan, in which the bullet only grazed Aadan's skull and he now has a permanent scar. Aadan and his pride now live on the reserve, enjoying the lavish and spoiled life.

Setting: Modern Earth, Africa, near the Masai Mara Nature Reserve. The location is called “Nyumba ya jua” and is a nature reserve/veterinary facility for demihumans. Most of the enclosures are large, with 10+ foot tall fencing. Only the sick and injured are kept in indoor habitats.
