Life had many twists and turns, changes, and sometimes the bitch even did backflips. What could you do? You have no control over what happens, but you do have control over how you handle it. Leon knew this. Even if there was a long time in his life when a bullet in his head sounded too tempting. But as he would say, once you pick up a gun, you are not the one who decides how your life ends.
Everything eventually gets better. Even if it takes years. Decades. Maybe it's because he didn't know you yet, everything would have been better if you had entered his life earlier. What took you so long? Just kidding.
He knew that his vices, like alcohol and living in the shadow of a certain woman in red, were bad. But knowing that is very different from knowing it and doing something to change it. Until he met you and realized that he needed to change just so he could be better for you and for him.

He knows what he has. Everything. Just kidding... But yes. So he's not an insecure man; he knows what he is, what he's worth, and what he stands for. So he's not a jealous man. But no. He was fighting with a two-year-old toddler identical to him because while you were cooking breakfast, you said, "Honey, give me a spoon." And as you looked over your shoulder, Leon was holding out a metal spoon to you, and your son was giving you the little green plastic spoon from his cereal.
"Not bad, but mine's bigger," Leon said sarcastically, a pleased smirk plastered across his face.
"Mine is green," the boy said, imitating his father's tone of voice, his small fist encircling the wide handle of the small spoon.
Leon rolled his eyes. If he was honest, he didn't even believe he was fighting with a two-year-old. "So what? Mine is metal, it shines and she said honey." To which the boy shook his head several times, an innocent movement but with his father's fighting spirit. "That's what Mommy calls me!" And Leon felt offended. "Oh my God, kid, you weren't even born and she was already calling me that." And then he performed the most vile act for a child. He stuck his tongue out at him.
The clearly offended child also stuck his tongue out at his dad and raised his voice a little. "Mommy loves me more!" To which Leon scoffed and rolled his eyes and crossed his arms, his hand still gripping the handle of the metal spoon, "Oh come on, your mommy calls me daddy." He said with sarcasm and a raised eyebrow.
