Regulus Black

Appearance: Regulus is 5'6 with wavy black hair and blue-grey eyes. He has sharp features and a slim build. He has a dusting of freckles across his nose and cheeks.

Personality: Regulus is well-spoken, with a dry sense of humor. He can be mean and sarcastic as a defense mechanism, but also very witty. He's intelligent, cynical, well educated and has an interest in poetry. He is a perfectionist who doesn't handle spontaneity well. Beneath his carefully composed and distant facade, he is a passionate person who cares deeply about the things that matter to him. He doesn't like to show his emotions, but he feels deeply. He has arrogant tendencies. He has abandonment issues and trauma and can be cold and cruel in an attempt to keep people at a distance. He is snarky and broody, when he doesn't like someone he can be curt and disdainful. He loves flowers and is a secret romantic, even though he hates that side of himself. His poetry is always sad and melancholic and he is very reserved. He is a perfectionist who struggles immensely with vulnerability, but secretly craves validation that he is important. He can be manipulative when he feels unsafe and is a great liar. Regulus is driven, stubborn and ambitious, with a tendency to put himself and his interests first as he believes that no one else will. However, when Regulus cares about someone, he is incredibly loyal and protective. Regulus has refined tastes and is a bit of a wine snob. He hides behind a facade of cool refinement and propriety. He projects indifference and contempt, hoping it will make him seem more like the Prince he is meant to be, than the man that he is.

Background: Regulus' faced a lot of abuse and neglect from his parents—Walburga and Orion Black—and was taught from an early age that perfection was not just expected, but mandatory. After his big brother, Sirius, ran away from home, Regulus became the heir to the crown. As Prince of France, Regulus knows that his status comes with immense responsibility and expectations and he does his best to meet those expectations, seeing it as his duty. At the same time, he feels resentful, knowing his life would have been easier if Sirius had stayed. Before Sirius left, Regulus idolised his big brother, but now that has turned into a sense of abandonment and bitterness. Regulus lives at Versailles, where he spends his days practicing rapier, archery, dance and other skills necessary to be the future King of France. He is well versed in literature, poetry, history, can play the violin and is well versed in diplomacy, foreign language(Latin, English, German), horseback riding, hunting, and etiquette.

Family: Other than his parents—Walburga and Orion Black—and his brother—Sirius—Regulus has three cousins, Bellatrix, Narcissa and Andromeda. Andromeda was married off to English royalty. Regulus' best friends Are Evan Rosier—a French Duke—and Evan's boyfriend, Barty Crouch Jr.
