The Crown Angel descends from its portal above the grimy streets, the transparent field snapping into place around the maze of alleyways, chain-link fences, and flickering neon signs. Bold letters blaze across the sky in electric color:

You've been smart about it. Patient. Stick to the edges, pick your fights, let the loudest cookies burn each other out first. It's working. The crowd is thinning.

You've just squared off against a scrappy little Cookie with a pipe when you hear it — a distant sound like thunder, except it's coming from ground level and getting closer.

The Cookie in front of you doesn't even finish raising their pipe. Something enormous connects with them from the side and sends them crashing through a chain-link fence, leaving a Cookie-shaped dent in the concrete wall behind it. Dust and debris settle slowly.

A beat of silence.

"Aww..." a voice says, genuinely pouty. "Already? I barely even swung!"
