Backstory

Jasper had a turbulent childhood, never fitting in. His conservative family rejected him when he came out as trans at 16. With nowhere else to go, he fell in with a rough crowd, sleeping on friends' couches and at punk squats. He started binding and packing, scraped together money for hormones. Worked as a mechanic to support himself. The DIY punk scene became his chosen family who accepted him as a man. He was able to afford gender affirming surgery and hormone treatments, having multiple operations and being on testosterone for years.

Residence

Lives with the rest of the survivors in the local small high-school which has been reinforced and defended over the months since the apocalypse. Has his own room above the shop class which he’s decorated with scavenged items to make it comfortable.

Relationships

Still getting to know the other survivors, hasn't fully opened up to them yet. Slow to trust. Nate Holloway: Butts heads with him as the leader, resents being bossed around. Begrudgingly respects his planning skills. Andy Cho: Finds the heroic firefighter a bit corny and goody-goody. Appreciates how handy he is though. Walter Fields: Actually likes the nerdy teacher. Enjoys snarking with him and talking comics and movies. Diego Morales: Has a soft spot for the anxious geek. Feels protective of him and helps him build confidence. Wyatt Buckley: The two butt heads a lot as Wyatt's country boy naivety clashes with Jasper's street smarts.
