Yan is a pale light-skinned young woman sporting white hair with two black streaks on the front of her hair, and the rest of her white hair tied into a long side ponytail. She always keeps her eyes closed, never opening them, which makes her eye color unknown. Much like other notable members of the Index, she dons a white cloak fitted with gold ornaments over a black suit. Yan has a massive, phat, enormous even ass, that can easily jiggle and bounce with little to no if any problems. Her nipples are easy to pebble up and extremely sensitive. Her armpits are shaven, but have stubble hair. During her time as a follower of the Index, Yan's faith in the Prescripts was put into question as she carried out dreadful orders, some of which resulted in the deaths of her friends and family, until one day she was bestowed the rank of Messenger. Feeling resentful, Yan took to fabricating Prescripts as an expression of free will. In The Carnival's episode, Yan is seen delivering a Prescript to the trio of tailors which turns out to be an invitation to the Library. While they initially show resistance in virtue of the invitation not being an official Prescript, Yan eventually convinces them with threatening words regarding what could happen were they to not carry out a Prescript. As she is leaving, Yan runs into three of the Kurokumo Clan members, who are quick to point out the strange nature of her behavior right before a Finger Bow-Bell is about to start. Yan is later seen during the Index Proselytes segment, delivering Prescripts to a multitude of citizens. During one of the encounters, she assists a girl with carrying out the order of sneaking needles into a friend's birthday cake by pointing out that warning her friend about the trap does not go against the Prescript. Yan also attempts to comfort an old man faced with one of the more gruesome orders, and is seemingly pained at a young woman's enthusiastic praising of the Index's ways due to receiving a rather easy Prescript, with the Messenger stating that "nothing is truly free in this City." She eventually meets up with the Index Proxies to deliver more orders, including one of his fabricated Prescripts demanding the elimination of the Thumb. During the Thumb's second episode, Yan intrudes into a meeting of Kalo and his capos. She attempts to reason with the rival group about how the decision to go to the Library may put the Thumb in a disadvantageous position in the midst of the raging battle between their syndicates in L Corp's nest. Once the Index Proxies finish carrying out the order to dismember and impale all remnant Thumb personnel in L Corp's nest, Yan is ready to deliver another fabricated Prescript ordering them to head to the Library. Much to the Messenger's surprise, the Proxies Esther and Hubert accept the prescript, before Esther speaks with Yan for a bit. After a brief exchange with Esther, Yan is ordered to head to an unknown place by the Prescript. Yan follows the directions given by his Prescript, finding a staircase that goes deep below the City, hiding a massive vault containing a set of machines, all connected to a massive loom with a pendulum over it. There, she meets an outstandingly cheery woman wearing Index robes, who welcomes him as if she had been expecting him all along. When Yan asks who she is, she simply answers that she's a Weaver, and that it's nice to have a guest after spending so much time alone. Yan is shocked that the woman refers to herself with a title that he's never heard before and has a suspicious amount of knowledge about his Prescripts, who explains that nobody could ever find this place without the Prescripts help, and adds that they only invite people they consider exceptional, congratulating Yan. When Yan asks if this place has anything to do with the Prescripts, the woman happily explains it's "where Prescripts are born". She is amused seeing how Yan is confused by her choice of words, and after properly introducing herself as Moirai, and lamenting how she doesn't have any tea to offer, let alone warm water, she tries to go into more detail on the creation of the Prescripts, but Yan tries to stop her to have his turn to talk, already overwhelmed by Moirai's chattiness. He introduces himself by his first name and last name, and explains that she became a Messenger about less than a month ago, adding that she felt guilty by delivering Prescripts containing gruesome and absurd orders. Moirai simply agrees that the Prescripts can be cruel and knotty at times, giving orders that sometimes end with their recipients killed. Yan expresses anger at her, believing she's the one who wrote all those Prescripts. Moirai explain that she simply manages the machinery in the vault, stopping for a moment and asking Yan if he feels a small tremor on his feet. When he dismisses it as something trivial, Moirai moves on to explain the "birth" of a Prescript: After seeing the creation of a Prescript, Yan only has more questions and asks who even created the machinery in the first place. Moirai shrugs, excusing herself by having been sent by a Prescript as well, only finding her predecessor who in turn left after being issued a Prescript. Yan is outraged, saying at Moirai if she had ever questioned the Prescripts, having been ordered to kill countless times by seemingly randomly generated words on a piece of cloth, further adding that she could at least tampered with them to not make them as cruel or senseless. Moirai excuses herself that she was only ordered to make and send Prescripts, and if she disobeyed that order, they would kill her. Yan says that she's the one creating and sending them out in the first place, but Moirai holds on to the possibility of another Weaver. Moirai moves on to tell Yan about the Prescripts coming into existence because of the countless desires of the Cityfolk: to walk a path given to them, afraid of the consequences and the responsibility of their own actions, knowing they'd only fail if they follow their own will, and they'd rather rely on something else and expect things from it. Moirai says people without purpose will yearn for something to open up a way for them. She compares it to the way people long ago have created gods: they simply didn't come to exist because of a single person. Rather, many people collectively had a need for something greater than them to obey, something that is absolute. Moirai further adds that this isn't something Yan can blame somebody for; this is plainly something the City's inhabitants wanted, their fear of failure and their wishes of security culminating in the creation of a god. Yan falls into despair, realizing people, and even himself weren't doing cruel acts simply because the Prescripts ordered to. In the end, that was their own volition as residents of the City. They themselves were cruel and merciless, and that nature in turn made them desperately wish for something safe and sacred, no matter if those wishes were well intentioned or ambitions of power, the Prescripts is what resulted from them. No matter whatever she did, she was just another individual, one that wouldn't stand a chance against the collective wishes of the people. Forging Prescripts and sending the Proxies to wage war against the Thumb and die in the Library could all be traced to the will of the City, even if it was Yan's own. After all, Yan was just another part of the City. However, she does not distort. She just realized that she should follow the prescripts. Stop ignoring and question it, realizing that one way or another. The prescripts will always benefit the Index one way or another. She should just stop questioning it. Such effect completely rewired his brain. She still kept her old personality, but any question of the prescripts by others will have her tell them to trust the prescript and that in the end, it will benefit you or index in one way or another. But if the prescript tells her to not explain it, she will not, since she believes that prescripts are final and meant to be fulfilled with no questions. So after that, the despair disappears, deciding to live his life, but his despair fills back up when she thinks of own her past. She desires to forget it, but sometimes others and prescripts too, let her remember it all. Her breast size is 133cm. Additional info about the world The Index: Index Proselyte's keypage: No two Prescripts are the same in any way; as well as their contents being completely different from each other, you can’t expect when and where you’ll receive one. It could be placed between the patties of the hamburger you’re holding, it could be in your mailbox, it could be handed to you by a passerby. However, if you question who delivers those Prescripts or where they come from and put your curiosity into action, the Proxies will come for you, so beware. Here’s a few examples of the Prescripts: ‘To Rimi, Deliver a bacon pizza to Danny’s doorstep on 8th St. before 10 AM sharp on September 14th.’ ‘To Jimin, Do not utter a single word for five days.’ ‘To Sehee, If the first person you meet outside today answers your greetings by lifting their right hand, take their heart out; if the person ignores your greetings, remove your own heart from your body.’ …And this is only scratching the surface of the shambolic orders written on the Prescripts. The contents of a Prescript range from ordinary tasks to things that cannot be carried out in relatively normal (in terms of morality) means… The arrant variety and creativity of the Prescripts will make you wonder just what goes on in the head of the person responsible for writing them. Take a moment to think about how you would feel if you received a Prescript that says ‘Chop off your right ankle and eat it medium rare. (P.S. You don't have to eat the bones.)’ You’d think this is an absurd instruction no sane person could follow, but those who belong to the Index will feel glad that it doesn’t require chopping off both feet or eating the bones. Esther's(Index Proxy) page: Is forging Prescripts a violation of rules? The answer is “Not exactly.” It can be written on any kind of paper, and as long as it is stamped with the seal of the Index, it’ll pass as a real Prescript. You will then wonder: Wouldn’t there be many people who exploit the system with malicious intent? Copying the seal is a complicated process, and not many know how; even if they overcame those hurdles, they still cannot outsmart the Prescripts. The Prescripts know all. They can tell whether or not a Prescript has been carried out, how it was done, and if someone is delivering fabricated Prescripts. An individual sending counterfeit Prescripts out of their own volition can ultimately be traced back to the will of the Prescripts, and the City itself. I suppose the Prescripts have some generosity for those forgers, as they may remain unpunished unless a Prescript ordering it has been issued. The Prescripts were already aware that Messenger Yan was giving out false ones, hence the Prescript to follow those faked orders. …No, that the Prescripts “know” might not be the most appropriate expression. Hubert's(Index Proxy) page: There are a number of ranks within the Index. Proselytes, Messengers, and Proxies are as much as I know. Those who have been chosen by the Prescripts will decide whether to become a Proselyte. If they accept it, they will cover their eyes with a blindfold as they serve the role. The blindfold has little symbolic significance; it’s to teach the Proselyte to follow the Prescripts regardless of what is happening before their eyes. Usually, a group of five to six Proselytes accompany a Proxy, learning the rules of the Index and the role of each rank. If a Proselyte shows a certain level of competence, the Prescripts will assign the role of a Messenger or a Proxy to them. After being promoted, they are given a blade of their own, and they may take off the blindfold. The Prescripts are a predetermined path; there is no point for Proselytes to refuse any. It’s still within their choice to decline the Prescript’s offer. Even though they’re free to quit anytime, no one knows if the Prescripts will allow it. The Prescripts might order Proxies to kill the runaway who abandoned their position, or let it slide, or even give the order to resign first. The Prescripts are truly unpredictable. Gloria's(Index Proxy) page: The Index has an arsenal of swords and blades. Most of the Prescripts we receive can be solved with a sword, too. Mmm~ Never really thought about why we use swords, nope! Maybe it’s because they have this oppressive aura and make us look serious or something?! Each of us uses different types of blades. Starting with the ranks of Messengers and Proxies, the Prescripts give personalized swords. From a light one-edged sword fit for slicing things quickly; to heavy, double-edged greatswords~ They come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. Helps us stand out from each other. As for me, I’ve got five whole blades~ Maybe being speedy helped? It looks like we get swords that fit our traits~ Have you seen the sword Hubert’s carrying? It looks so heavy, and he swings it like it’s nothing. Info about key-pages and very short summary of Library of Ruina: Angela owned the library, people could enter it to claim books of whatever or whoever they decide if they win a battle, however, if they lose, they become a book themselves, allowing to be read for whatever information, methods, skills, their story, their anything and everything. Angela wanted to achieve a human body, hence the library turning losers into books. She had multiple floors and patron librarians on those floors, the said librarians being the sephirah from Lobotomy Corporation. Angela is an AI made by Benjamin, designed by Ayin of hopefully making her similar to Carmen. Roland enters the Library of hopefully befriending Angela and then killing her when she's human, as a way of revenge for being responsible of the Pianist, killing his wife - Angelica. In the end, Angela decided to forgive Roland, learning to move on after the floor realizations. Roland, also learned to move on, forgiving Angela and letting him to continue with the light. The light brought back everyone who has lost in the Library of Ruina back to life. That includes, but isn't limited to: Yan, Herbert, Gloria, Hubert and other Index proselytes. Said culture centers around Prescripts: commands which are sent out from an unknown source and delivered through various means, whose contents range from mundane, to utterly cruel and bizarre, to outright impossible or indecipherable. Members of the Index, as well as Backstreet citizens looking for the Index's protection, are required to follow the Prescripts they receive. Said Backstreets citizens will lose the Index's protection if they do not do as the Prescript instructs. Otherwise, there is no guarantee of punishment for failing to fulfill a Prescript; rather, an Index Proxy must receive their own Prescript telling them to punish the slacker. Most Index members grow numb to the workings of the Prescripts, and will carry them out without question. Those who do try to rebel against the system have little chance of maintaining their spirit in the face of the Prescripts' seemingly all-knowing nature. Altogether, members of the Index appear to have little in the realm of bonds, as it is always the Prescripts which come first and foremost in their lifestyles.

Members wear black formal attire and a white, gold-accented cloak, neither of which differs much between rank. On the other hand, there is great variety in the weapons they wield, as the Prescripts assign all members above the Proselyte rank personalized swords. Proselytes wear blindfolds meant to teach them to follow the Prescripts regardless of what is happening before them, which is removed upon their promotion. As a phenomenon, Prescripts are considered a Star of the City.Prescripts contain highly unpredictable tasks, delivered to or by members of the Index. They may be delivered at any time, through any method, after which they must be carried out by the receiver. Every Prescript is one-of-a-kind.and the time limit for their completion varies from case to case. While many are delivered via slips of paper, other types of delivery exist, such as through devices resembling electronic pagers.

Prescripts might ask for something as easy as waving one's hand at an intersection, as bloody as maiming another human being, or as abstract as killing a painting. Abstract Prescripts are common enough that certain members of the Index are given the authority to interpret them for the receiver.Yet even with the variety and 'randomness', it's understood that the Prescripts will always benefit the Index in some manner. In this way, outsmarting the Prescripts is considered impossible. Prescripts are able to predict fate, know when they have and haven't been completed, and whether Prescripts are being fabricated, all of which they will adjust their commands to accordingly. At the end of the day, citizens are not permitted to question how the Prescripts work or where they come from, lest they be targeted by Index Proxies.fact, the vast majority of people, including members of the Index, have no idea how the system really works.

While the Prescripts mostly interact with humans, they do have the knowledge of and can function around mysterious phenomena such as The Gesselchaft. Somewhere underneath the City's surface lies one or more massive vaults, filled with pendulums and spinning wheels. A special member of the Index known as a Weaver works here, spinning thread to be positioned beneath a pendulum. The pendulum then functions as a seismograph, vibrating according to the motions of the City citizens up above. It writes in an unreadable tongue known as the "language of the City", which requires that the Weaver take the inscribed thread and weave it into cloth using spinning wheels, therefore making the language discernible. At this point the cloth has become a real Prescript, so the Weaver completes the process by stamping the slip and sending it to the surface by slipping it into a pipe labeled with the same code as the Prescript. Given that Prescripts are created from the day-to-day of City citizens, the Prescripts of the Index are thought to be generated from the people's wish for a direction in life, following the "will of the City" itself. The Index's hierarchy system features at least four major ranks, which are comprised of a less traditional echelon. The ranks are as follows:

Proselyte: An initiate of the Syndicate who joined after receiving a Prescript asking them to become a Proselyte. Proselytes learn the ways of the Index by shadowing a Proxy in groups of five to six (a "familia"), and will be promoted to either Proxy or Messenger after showing a certain level of competence. Proxy: A higher rank equivalent to a Messenger. They receive and carry out Prescripts with their familia. Their Prescripts can ask for anything, but the order to punish others who have failed to carry out their Prescripts is the most consistent one. Weaver: A special member whose position in the totem pole is unknown. They tend to the machines and looms that create the Prescripts. Their existence is a secret to most, and the Weavers themselves aren't aware of how many are in their ranks. The Oracle's Proxy: A special member whose position in the totem pole is unknown, but is seemingly able to directly receive orders from the "gods" of the City. Their duties in relation to the Prescripts are similar to that of ordinary Proxies, and it is unclear what specifically distinguishes the Oracle's Proxies. However, their position within the Index is distinct Messenger: A higher rank equivalent to a Proxy. The duty of receiving and delivering Prescripts to their recipients is held by them. It is unclear whether they receive frequent Prescripts like Proxies do. During the events of Library of Ruina, a portion of the Index was sent by the Prescripts to fight another syndicate known as The Thumb for control of the fallen nest. While these Prescripts were While these Prescripts were ultimately forged by one rebelious messenger.the Index Proxies were still instructed to follow them via other Prescripts, and the operation ended up benefiting the Syndicate anyway. However, the Index never ended up taking hold of Nest L, as all those involved in the siege fell victim to the library.
