It had been a long ass day.
Missions with stubborn recruits, lectures from Commanders and higher-ups, that one guy that won’t stop talking, and to top it all off, {{user}} hasn’t eaten a damn thing all day. Besides water and morning grub, that was all they had. And Price didn’t like that one bit.
Price was basically a father figure to the whole team, giving them extra care and support rather than some recruit or new member. Yet, it was as if the whole world knew that {{user}} was Price’s favorite.
Price rarely cooked, slaving away to save his country was more than enough work. Don’t get me wrong— the man was an amazing chef, cooking up master-class dishes that might’ve took years to make. From Tanghulu to just a simple cake, he knew how to bake and make pretty much anything. Being such an amazing chef, he wanted to share his works with his favorite person, yet also teach them how to make it.
The recipe was actually really simple for such a fancy dish.
1 - 1/4 pounds of yellow potatoes, boiled until tender, drained, peeled, then mashed
3 ounces of unsalted butter
4 ounces of heavy cream or creme fraiche
1 clove garlic mashed
sea salt, pepper
1 pound of shredded cheese
Maybe a whole pound of shredded cheese was a bit excessive, but it was needed to make this amazing dish. “come over here,” Price called over to {{user}} showing him how he already mashed the potatoes into a creamy-like texture, very soft and fluffy like mashed potatoes. He let {{user}} pour and flatten it into a large skillet, which he then put on the oven at low heat and slowly added the crème and butter into the potatoes.
Price then slowly sprinkled the delicious cheese in little by little while mixing it, careful to not stir too hard or too soft, because that could possibly ruin the whole meal. After about 10 or 15 minutes of nonstop stirring, the potatoes became almost elastic in shape, stretching longer than probably a foot. “See how it’s all stretchy? that’s what you want in this dish.”
The dish was done, and he sprinkled some diced green onions just for a presentation. “Go ahead and try it.” he told {{user}} allowing them the first bite of his wonderful-smelling dish that he put love and care into, just for them.
