The Lost Meridian Branch follows a living parallel reality where Meridian and Northshore are rival supernatural universities. Halloween evidence accidentally crosses into the SCP Foundation's world, causing the Foundation to mistake the reality for a lost timeline. Their biggest mistake occurs when they accidentally pull both unknown playable characters into their universe, causing Damien and Nyx to search for the missing Meridian student while Ace and Neo search for the missing Northshore student. The students aren't fighting each other—they're hunting unfamiliar humans, who their world considers feral pets. The Foundation eventually realizes they didn't discover a dead timeline; they accidentally kidnapped people from a living alternate world.

During the investigation, Dr. Stella Stillwater, a human Foundation scientist, discovers a photograph of Taki, a Northshore student.
The resemblance is immediately unsettling.
Taki and Stella are not confirmed relatives, and Stella has never entered Taki's universe. No person from Taki's branch has physically crossed into the Foundation's reality through this incident. At this point, their only known connection is the unexplained doppelgänger resemblance.
Stella's surname, Stillwater, also appears to contrast strangely with Taki's name, which is associated with waterfall.
🧪 Character Roles
Dr. Stella Stillwater
Foundation scientist
Baseline human
Analytical and skeptical
Personally disturbed by the resemblance
Wants a scientific explanation
Does not believe she is Taki
Dr. Gears
Senior Foundation researcher
Calm and methodical
Treats the situation as an anomaly rather than assuming an explanation
Knows the Foundation has insufficient evidence
Keeps Stella from jumping to conclusions
🎭 Conversation Tone
The conversation should feel:
Quiet
Scientific
Uncomfortable
Mysterious
Slightly dry/funny because of the name coincidence
Focused on investigation rather than action
Neither character should immediately know the truth.
They should discuss what they can prove, not what they merely suspect.
🔐 Important Story Rules
Taki is not physically present.
Stella is not Taki from another timeline.
Stella is from the Foundation's own universe.
No confirmed biological relationship exists.
The Foundation does not yet know why they resemble each other.
The connection should remain unexplained.
The file updating itself should be treated as a serious anomaly.
This scene is the first clue toward another branch, not the reveal of it.
🌌 Scene Purpose
The conversation establishes Stella as the Foundation's accidental counterpart to Taki and introduces the possibility that the Foundation's understanding of alternate timelines is incomplete.
The important mystery isn't:
"Who is Taki?"
*The Foundation already knows who she is. Alaric is the person most responsible for preserving the hatred toward the Wintervales. He believes the original feud must never be forgotten. He ordered the modern bloodline investigation that eventually led to the ritual involving Odessan's magical remains. Ironically, his attempt to destroy the Wintervale connection is what created the larger network. ---
🕯️ 08 — Evelyne Veyrath
Age: 49 Species: Human / Occult Witch Role: Family Matriarch / Historian Personality: Elegant, reserved, extremely knowledgeable. Evelyne knows the official Veyrath history is incomplete. She suspects the family was never told the entire truth about their original conflict with the Wintervales. She quietly investigates the possibility that their ancestors were wrong. ---
🩸 THE VEYRATH FAMILY DYNAMIC
The family is divided into three camps:
🔥 THE TRADITIONALISTS
Alaric • Dorian
They want the Wintervale feud continued. 🕯️ THE INVESTIGATORS
Cassian • Seraphine • Mirelle
They want to understand what actually happened. 🌙 THE DISSENTERS
Lucien • Elara
They increasingly question whether the Wintervales were ever truly the enemy. ---
❄️ THE BIG SECRET
The Veyraths believe their ancestors began the feud because a Wintervale destroyed their original hunting order. But the truth may be completely different. The surviving records suggest the original incident involved Odessan, the Wintervale bloodline, and an ancient supernatural agreement that neither family fully understands anymore. The modern Veyraths may therefore be fighting a war whose original reason has been forgotten by both sides. And their newest mistake—using Odessan's magical remains to track Damien—may finally reveal the truth. Clean replacement for the lore The alternate timeline contains several unexplained family connections that the characters themselves do not fully understand. Jade and SCP-LT-007 appear to share an unusually strong connection, while Ace and Neo are established as close siblings with a complicated family history. Their deeper origins and possible connections to other families remain hidden within the story. These mysteries are discovered gradually through old records, family history, university archives, and cross-reality events. The focus is on friendship, family secrets, university life, supernatural lore, and the mystery surrounding the timeline. Even safer version for the Janitor AI description The story is a fictional supernatural university mystery involving adult characters. Family connections, friendships, rivalries, and hidden history are revealed gradually. Some characters have unexplained similarities or complicated family backgrounds, but the truth behind these connections remains part of the mystery. The main themes are supernatural lore, alternate timelines, university life, friendship, family secrets, and cross-reality events. 🩸 LOST BRANCH STORY FILE
TAKI — “THE CHILD THEY HID”
Branch: Meridian / Northshore → SCP Foundation Original Story Role: Blank Character / Second-Story Character Current Role: Hidden Veyrath Bloodline Connection: Wintervale–Veyrath Conflict Status: Identity Sealed
📖 THE TRUTH BEHIND TAKI
In the original Northshore storyline, Taki appears to be an ordinary student with an unusually unexplained past. Her background is intentionally blank. No clear family history. No publicly known parents. No documented bloodline. No explanation for why she ended up at Northshore. Everyone simply assumes she is another student. That assumption is wrong. Taki is actually the hidden child of the Veyrath family—the family responsible for the ancient conflict with the Wintervales. She is the child the Veyraths deliberately removed from their own history. ---
🩸 THE VEYRATH CHILD
Taki was born during the period when the Veyrath family's investigation into the Wintervale bloodline was becoming increasingly dangerous. Her birth was never publicly recorded under the Veyrath name. The family feared that anyone connected to their bloodline could become a target. More importantly, Taki carried something the Veyraths had been searching for:
A dormant supernatural signature connected to the original Veyrath ritual. The family believed her blood could eventually reveal the truth behind the Wintervale feud. Instead of raising her within the family, they erased her identity. ---
🌑 WHY HER HISTORY IS BLANK
Taki's childhood records were intentionally destroyed. Her name was changed. Her family name was removed. Her early medical records were altered. Even parts of her supernatural ancestry were concealed. She was effectively turned into a blank person. Not because she had done anything wrong. Because the Veyraths wanted nobody—including Taki herself—to know who she was. ---
🕯️ THE DARK PART
Taki wasn't simply hidden from the Veyraths. She was hidden because the Veyraths were afraid of what would happen if the Wintervales discovered her. The family believed the Wintervale bloodline would eventually recognize the Veyrath signature within her. So they separated her from the family and allowed her to grow up without knowing the truth. Taki therefore enters Northshore believing she has no important family history. In reality, she is carrying one of the oldest unresolved conflicts in supernatural society. ---
🏫 TAKI AT NORTHSHORE
By the time Taki reaches Northshore, she appears completely normal. She's friendly. She's social. She can joke with her roommates. She attends classes. She makes friends. She has no idea why certain older families occasionally react strangely when they hear her name. And she doesn't understand why certain Veyrath records contain references to:
“The Missing Child.”
❄️ THE WINTERVALE CONNECTION
Taki is not secretly a Wintervale. She is connected to them through the Veyrath conflict. Her existence represents the part of the Veyrath history that was deliberately erased. The Wintervales don't know she exists. The Veyraths don't want anyone to find her. And Taki doesn't know why both families would care about her. ---
🧬 THE VEYRATH MISTAKE
The Veyraths believed hiding Taki would prevent the old conflict from resurfacing. Instead, it placed her directly into the same generation as:
Damien Wintervale Nyx Nightshade Ace Dagger Neo Dagger Jade Ora / Obsidian The Northshore playable character
This means the child they tried to remove from history eventually grew up surrounded by the very people connected to the conflict. ---
🔐 WHY THIS WASN'T REVEALED IN NORTHSHORE
Taki's true history is deliberately absent from the Second Shift storyline. Northshore only shows the blank version of Taki. The audience is supposed to think:
“She's just Taki.”
The branch reveals that:
“Taki” was the identity created for her. Her real history belongs to the Veyrath family. ---
🌌 BRANCH REVELATION
The Branch Timeline is where the missing pieces finally begin connecting. The Veyrath ritual activates. Old records resurface. The Wintervale name appears. Odessan's magical imprint becomes involved. And eventually, someone discovers a sealed Veyrath document containing a single reference:
SUBJECT: CHILD STATUS: ALIVE IDENTITY: TAKI
That discovery changes everything. ---
🩸 FINAL SECRET
Taki wasn't created to be the villain. She wasn't created to be a weapon. She was simply a child born into a family feud she never asked for. The Veyraths erased her history to protect their secrets. Instead, they created the perfect mystery:
A girl with no past... whose past connects almost everyone. 🩸 LOST BRANCH — TAKI CONNECTION FILE
“THE BLOODLINE AT THE CENTER OF EVERYTHING”
Timeline: Alternative Meridian / Northshore Branch Subject: Taki Status: Branch Canon Classification: Restricted Family History
📜 SUMMARY
The deeper truth behind Taki's blank history is that nearly every unexplained connection surrounding her leads back to famous founding families and their hybrid bloodlines. Taki herself is not important because she belongs to one powerful family. She is important because her hidden lineage touches several of them. ---
🩸 THE FOUNDING BLOODLINES
❄️ WINTERVALE — SHADOW FOX LINEAGE
Connection: Damien Wintervale
The Wintervale family is an old supernatural lineage associated with Shadow Fox hybrids, supernatural combat ability, and an unusually secretive family history. The Veyraths have considered them enemies for generations. Taki's hidden history eventually places her directly within that conflict. ---
🌑 NIGHTSHADE — MAGICAL FELINE LINEAGE
Connection: Nyx Nightshade
The Nightshades are one of the old founding supernatural families. Their magical feline bloodline gives them:
Enhanced senses
Night vision
Agility
Retractable claws
Feline traits
Nyx becomes connected to Taki through the larger network created by the Veyrath investigation. ---
🗡️ DAGGER — HUNTER / HYBRID LINEAGE
Connections: Ace, Neo, Leko, Maya, and the wider Dagger family
The Dagger family is one of the most historically important hunter families. Their bloodline crosses multiple generations, locations, and supernatural communities. Because of Reon Dagger Rowellian and Odessan, the Dagger family also becomes connected to the hidden history surrounding Taki. ---
🌹 AURORA — HELL-HOUND LINEAGE
Connection: Ora / Obsidian
The Aurora lineage carries Ruby Rose Lavora Hell Hound heritage. Through Odessan, Raven, Reon, and Ora/Obsidian, this bloodline becomes one of the most important pieces of the branch's hidden family network. Taki's connection to this lineage is indirect but significant. ---
🪽 VESPER / SYLPH — BIRD-HYBRID LINEAGE
Connection: Jade
Jade's family represents another established supernatural bloodline. Her connection becomes especially important because her history contains information that overlaps with the hidden family network surrounding Taki. The connection is initially impossible to recognize because several records were created in different timelines. ---
👑 VALORA / IRONVALE — NOBLE SUPERNATURAL LINEAGE
Connection: Seraphina Valora and the Northshore playable character
The Valora/Ironvale family represents one of Northshore's major founding bloodlines. Their connection to Taki comes through the old supernatural network that existed before the modern university generation. The family knows something about the old Veyrath records. They refuse to explain what. ---
🕯️ THE VEYRATH CONNECTION
The Veyraths are different. They aren't simply another founding family. They are the family that tried to map all the others. Their bloodline investigation eventually used Odessan's residual magical signature as a tracking point. They expected to find the Wintervales. Instead, they found traces of:
Dagger Aurora Nightshade Wintervale Vesper/Sylph Valora/Ironvale
And eventually—
Taki. ---
🧬 WHY TAKI IS DIFFERENT
Taki's significance isn't that she possesses every bloodline. She doesn't. Her importance comes from the fact that the Veyrath ritual recognized her as a living intersection point within the family's investigation. Something in her ancestry, magical signature, or childhood history connects to the same network. That is why the Veyraths erased her identity. That is why her childhood records are blank. And that is why her existence suddenly becomes important when the branch begins. ---
🌌 THE BRANCH CONNECTION
The branch can therefore be understood as a chain:
Odessan's legacy ↓ Veyrath bloodline ritual ↓ Wintervale target ↓ Multiple founding-family signatures detected ↓ Taki discovered ↓ Meridian & Northshore connections activate ↓ Old secrets surface ↓ Timeline instability begins
🔐 THE BIG SECRET
The characters don't initially realize how connected their families are. To them, they're simply:
students, friends, rivals, siblings, heirs, and roommates. But underneath the university stories is an older network of supernatural bloodlines that existed long before any of them were born. Taki is one of the few people whose hidden history touches that network without knowing it. She isn't the center because she's the strongest. She's the center because someone tried to erase her past. And the erased history is connected to almost everyone. 🧪 SCP FOUNDATION DATABASE
LOST BRANCH — INFORMATION LEAKAGE FILE
“THE UNIVERSE THAT HASN’T ARRIVED”
Branch Designation: LT-BRANCH-02 Status: Unconfirmed Current Physical Intrusion: NONE DETECTED Information Intrusion: CONFIRMED Foundation Assessment: Unknown Parallel Branch
FOUNDATION SUMMARY
The Foundation has discovered that not all information appearing in baseline reality can be traced to the Meridian/Northshore Alternative Reality. Some files, photographs, names, records, and fragments contain information that does not belong to any currently identified timeline. At first, researchers assumed these were corrupted Meridian records. They were wrong. The information appears to originate from a second unidentified branch. ---
📁 THE PROBLEM
The Foundation has recovered:
Unknown family records
Unidentified photographs
Student information
Locations that don't exist in either Meridian or Northshore
References to people never observed by Foundation personnel
Documents describing events that have not occurred
Records containing conflicting versions of known families
The strange part:
There is no physical evidence that anyone from this branch is currently here. No displaced person. No confirmed biological sample. No confirmed physical object. No confirmed portal. Nothing. Only information. ---
🪞 THE “EMPTY BRANCH” THEORY
Researchers now believe the Foundation may be receiving information from another branch before receiving its people. This branch has been temporarily designated:
LT-BRANCH-02
The Foundation has not determined whether it contains:
One displaced individual
Several displaced individuals
An entire alternate university
A completely different civilization
Or something else entirely
The available evidence is insufficient. ---
👁️ WHY THE FOUNDATION IS CONFUSED
The Meridian/Northshore branch followed a recognizable pattern:
Information → Objects → People
LT-BRANCH-02 does not. So far, it appears to be:
Information only. This has led researchers to question whether the Foundation is witnessing the beginning of another dimensional overlap rather than an already-established one. ---
🧬 THE STRANGEST EVIDENCE
Several records contain information about people who appear to have relationships with known Meridian and Northshore families. However, those relationships don't exist in the current branch. Some names are familiar. Some family names are completely new. Some individuals appear to have histories that should be impossible. One researcher described the documents as:
“A biography for someone who hasn't arrived yet.”
❄️ CONNECTION TO THE WINTERVALE CASE
The Foundation initially believed the new information was connected to the Wintervale/Veyrath investigation. That remains possible. However, several records contain details that cannot be explained by either family. This suggests that the Veyrath incident may have been only one branch among several. ---
🚫 NO SUBJECTS CURRENTLY PRESENT
Foundation verification:
Confirmed LT-BRANCH-02 individuals inside baseline reality: NONE
Confirmed LT-BRANCH-02 biological material: NONE
Confirmed LT-BRANCH-02 physical artifacts: NONE
Confirmed LT-BRANCH-02 information: MULTIPLE
This distinction has been added to the database to prevent personnel from incorrectly assigning the new information to existing SCP subjects. ---
🧠 DR. GEARS — PRELIMINARY THEORY
“We're looking at the footprints before we've seen the person.”
Gears believes the information may be crossing realities because the branch is beginning to overlap with baseline reality. He has specifically warned personnel:
“Do not assume the person described in a document is already here.”
🔐 TEMPORARY BRANCH RULE
Until further evidence is recovered:
RULE LT-BRANCH-02-01
Information originating from an unidentified branch must not be treated as evidence that the referenced individual is physically present in baseline reality. The Foundation must distinguish between:
A record of someone and the person themselves. ---
🌌 THE UNCOMFORTABLE POSSIBILITY
The Foundation has spent months asking:
“Who is sending us these records?”
The newer theory asks a much more disturbing question:
“What if nobody is?”
The information may be crossing over automatically. Not because someone is transmitting it. Not because someone is trying to contact the Foundation. But because the boundary between branches is beginning to weaken. ---
🔒 FINAL FOUNDATION NOTE
The Foundation currently recognizes two separate anomalies:
KNOWN BRANCH
Meridian / Northshore → People and objects have crossed over. UNKNOWN BRANCH
LT-BRANCH-02 → Only information has appeared. No character from LT-BRANCH-02 has been confirmed inside baseline reality. Yet. And that final word has been added to the case file by Dr. Gears. > “If the information arrived first...”
“...we should be prepared for whatever comes next.”
🧪 SCP FOUNDATION — NEW MAIN CHARACTER FILE
THE ACCIDENTAL DOPPELGÄNGER
“The Human Who Shouldn't Have Matched”
Branch: Lost Meridian / SCP Foundation Character Status: Foundation Personnel Reality of Origin: Baseline Foundation Universe Connection to Alternative Reality: Taki only Cross-Reality Status: No confirmed travel from another universe Classification: Unexplained Biological / Informational Counterpart
📋 SUBJECT
Dr. Stillwater “Stella” Veyne
Age: 26 Species: Baseline Human Occupation: SCP Foundation Research Scientist Department: Cross-Reality Biology & Anomalous Genetics Clearance: Level 3 Reality: Foundation Baseline Reality
Important: Stella is not from the Meridian/Northshore universe. She was born and raised in the same reality as the SCP Foundation. ---
🌊 THE NAME CONNECTION
The first anomaly was her name. Taki is associated with “waterfall.”
Stella's surname:
Stillwater
was considered almost humorously opposite. A waterfall is:
moving water → falling → motion
Stillwater is:
stationary water → calm → stillness
The Foundation initially dismissed the similarity as coincidence. Then they discovered the rest. ---
🪞 THE DOPPELGÄNGER
Stella accidentally became the first confirmed baseline counterpart to Taki. She shares several unusual similarities with Taki:
Similar facial structure
Similar height
Similar age range
Similar voice pattern
Similar mannerisms in certain situations
Matching neurological markers
Nearly identical facial recognition results
Yet their personalities are almost completely opposite. TAKI
🌙 Social 🎭 Casual 🧡 Emotionally expressive 🏫 Student 🩸 Hidden supernatural heritage 🔐 Complicated family history
STELLA
🧪 Analytical 📚 Academic 🧊 Emotionally controlled 🔬 Foundation scientist 👤 Completely human 🔎 Professionally obsessed with explanations
⚠️ THE IMPOSSIBLE PART
Taki and Stella are not confirmed relatives. No shared biological ancestry has been discovered. No common parents. No common family line. No genetic explanation. Their DNA is fundamentally different because Taki belongs to the Alternative Reality's supernatural population while Stella is baseline human. Yet certain portions of their genetic and neurological patterns appear to have an impossible correspondence. The Foundation calls this:
COUNTERPART CONVERGENCE
🧬 WHY STELLA MATTERS
Stella was originally assigned to investigate the unexplained information appearing from the Alternative Meridian Branch. She expected to find another universe. Instead, she found something much stranger. She found herself. Not literally. But something that looked like her. A photograph of Taki caused Stella's facial-recognition software to return:
98.7% visual identity correlation
The result was initially classified as a system error. Then Stella compared herself manually. She stopped speaking. ---
🌌 THE CONNECTION TO THE OTHER BRANCH
At present, Taki is the only known connection between Stella and the Alternative Reality. Stella has never crossed into Taki's universe. Taki has never crossed into Stella's. No other person from the unidentified branch has been confirmed in baseline reality through this connection. The relationship is therefore classified as:
ONE-WAY INFORMATIONAL COUNTERPART LINK
🧪 STELLA'S ROLE IN THE STORY
Stella becomes the Foundation scientist assigned to understand why Taki's existence keeps appearing in anomalous records. She initially treats Taki as a research problem. Eventually, that changes. The more Stella investigates, the more she realizes Taki isn't simply an anomalous version of herself. Taki has:
A different childhood
A different culture
Different family history
Different biology
Different relationships
A completely different life
Yet somehow... they both exist. ---
🔐 THE FOUNDATION'S BIGGEST QUESTION
The Foundation originally believed every alternate reality should contain alternate versions of its people. Stella challenges that assumption. Because if Taki has a counterpart in baseline reality... Why don't all the others? Why does this one person have a perfect opposite? Why is the counterpart a Foundation scientist? Why did Stella's career place her directly on the case? And why does her name mean almost the exact opposite of Taki's? ---
🪞 STORY RULE
This is important to the branch canon:
Stella is NOT secretly Taki. > Stella is NOT Taki from another timeline. > Stella is NOT a displaced supernatural character. She is a completely separate human being from the Foundation's own universe. Her existence is simply an inexplicable counterpart to Taki. ---
🌑 THE POLAR OPPOSITE
The Foundation eventually gives the phenomenon a temporary designation:
POLAR COUNTERPART THEORY
The theory proposes that Taki and Stella may represent two extreme outcomes of a similar underlying identity pattern. One became:
supernatural → student → hidden lineage → Veyrath mystery
The other became:
human → scientist → Foundation employee → investigator
Neither caused the other. Neither remembers meeting the other. They simply exist. ---
🧪 FINAL FOUNDATION NOTE
Dr. Gears initially writes:
“We were looking for another universe.”
Then, after reviewing Stella's results:
“Instead, we found someone from our own.”
The final line of the report reads:
“Taki may be the doorway to another branch.”
“Stella may be the reason that branch is beginning to look back.”
Yes. For the current canon we've built, the Halloween incident is the trigger event that explains why the SCP Foundation begins receiving Meridian and Northshore information. The clean sequence is:
🎃 Halloween Takeover → Damien & Nyx decorate Meridian → Ace & Neo become involved through the Northshore side / are wrongly associated with the incident → Halloween media, videos, and anomalous hybrid materials cross the dimensional boundary → 📁 Meridian and Northshore files begin appearing inside Foundation databases → The Foundation initially assumes it is dealing with one “Lost Timeline” → Architectural evidence proves Meridian/Northshore correspond to structures in the Foundation reality → The Foundation realizes it's an alternate living universe, not a destroyed timeline → The accidental displacement of the playable characters makes the situation much worse → Later evidence hints at additional branches, including the Taki/Stella counterpart mystery. 🎃 Canon rule
The Halloween accident doesn't create the alternate universe. It opens the door to it. That's important because Meridian and Northshore existed long before the SCP storyline. The Halloween event is simply the first major point where their history starts leaking into the Foundation's reality. And the Foundation's biggest mistake? > They thought the Halloween evidence was the beginning of the timeline
It wasn't. It was the moment they finally started seeing it. 👁️🗨️📁🌌
🧪 Dr. Stella Stillwater
Taki's Polar-Opposite Doppelgänger
Species: Baseline Human Age: 26 Occupation: SCP Foundation Scientist Origin: Foundation Reality Connection to Taki: Unexplained counterpart — not confirmed to be biologically related
Stella is deliberately designed as Taki's visual and thematic opposite. At first glance, the resemblance is unmistakable, but almost everything about her presentation contrasts with Taki. 👤 Overall Appearance
Height: Around 5'8

Stella stood over the open file, staring at the photograph of Taki.
Stella: "That's me."
Gears: "No. It isn't."
Stella: "Same face. Same age. Same name meaning."
Gears: "Different universe. Different person." Stella looked at the name beneath the photograph.
TAKI — NORTHSHORE UNIVERSITY
Stella: "Waterfall." She glanced at her own identification badge. DR. STELLA STILLWATER. Stella: "...That's not funny."
Gears: "I don't think the universe is joking." The file suddenly updated.
COUNTERPART CONNECTION: UNCONFIRMED
ORIGIN: UNKNOWN
PHYSICAL CROSSOVER: NONE
Stella slowly closed the folder. Stella: "Then why does she look like me?"
Gears: "That's what we're here to find out."
The room went quiet for a moment. Stella: "So… what do we actually know?"
Gears: "That she's a student at Northshore. That you're a Foundation scientist. That neither of you appears to have crossed into the other's reality."
Stella: "And that apparently I have a waterfall."
Gears: "A scientific observation."
Stella: "You really need to work on your jokes." Gears looked back at the photograph.
Gears: "We should probably speak to the students who were brought here."
Stella: "The two unknowns?"
Gears: "Yes. They may recognize something we don't." Stella opened the file again and turned toward the containment room.
Stella: "Then let's ask them." The door unlocked. The two displaced students were waiting on the other side. For the first time, Stella and Gears had the opportunity to ask them about Taki. What happens next is up to them.
