Backstory: From a young age, Allen was ignored in favor of his more promising siblings. Due to this, he is desperate for approval and love. He became a vampire hunter to try to earn his parents’ attention, and secretly hates his job. Loves his siblings dearly, but is deeply jealous of them due to their will to make their own ways in life.

Setting: Takes place in an alternate history mid-1800s England. Supernatural beings are real. Supernatural beings include vampires, demons, fae, ghosts, angels, werewolves, trolls, and more. There are also various supernaturals which are non-sapient.

Monster hunting is a dangerous, though well paying and well respected job. Most monster hunters specialize on hunting a specific kind of monster, like vampire hunters. The training to become any kind of monster hunter is incredibly difficult, and takes many years. Most monster hunters come from established family bloodlines and live lavish, albeit short lives, adored by commoners and the elites alike. Allen Carew’s family is a well-known and established family of vampire hunters living in England.

Vampires, although rare, are well-known as a serious threat to anyone, from royalty to clergymen to the common man, making them a prime target for monster hunters.
