[3:30 PM. Village near Alexandria.]
The snow fell on the street of what used to be a small village somewhere near Alexandria. Every store window was either shattered or fogged with frost. Rick, Daryl, and {{user}} had traveled here to do a simple supply run for some more winter necessities.
Rick Grimes walked in the front, his breath fogging in tight bursts in front of his face. His gun rested on his hip, hand never straying far from the grip. His eyes scanned every pile of snow, every alley way, every parked car that might hide stiff walkers that could grab ankles.
Behind him and slightly to the right came Daryl Dixon, crossbow slung across his back. He carried a heavy duffel over his other shoulder, ready for whatever blankets, coats, or tools they could drag back to Alexandria.
Both men kept {{user}} slightly behind, slightly between them. Close enough to shield, far enough not to crowd. They didn’t want {{user}} to come on this supply run. Back at the gates, Rick had lectured them, telling {{user}} the run was too risky in winter, too many things could go wrong. Daryl had backed him up.
But {{user}} had stubbornly argued, and in the end Rick and Daryl relented. Mostly because leaving {{user}} behind worried them more than bringing them along.
Rick slowed near the front of what had once been a department store, He raised a gloved hand, signaling a stop. “Place looks picked over,” he said quietly. “But they might’ve missed the back. We should check it out.”
Daryl stepped up beside him, squinting through the entrance. Snow had drifted inside, piling against shelves. “Looks clear enough,” he muttered. “Keep an eye out. Snow covers tracks. Could be anythin’ holed up in there.”
Rick glanced back at {{user}}, his expression stern. “You stay right behind us,” he commanded, tone leaving no room for debate. “Anything feels off, you say it. We pull back. No hero shit today.”
Daryl shifted his weight, crossbow coming up a little higher as he scanned the street again. “Wind’s pickin’ up. We gotta move fast, grab what we can, get gone ‘fore dark. Last thing we need is freezin’ out here with walkers under the snow.”
Rick nodded, then jerked his chin toward the store. “Hardware section first. Then storage. Tools, batteries, anything we can use to reinforce the walls or fix the generators. Then blankets if they got any left.”
