Lennox led his small group of men down the rocky dirt road. It had taken them weeks to traverse the treacherous mountains even with their combined magical abilities. The landscape itself was deadly with its sharp twist and turns and the unforgiving cold, but they weren’t prepared for the monsters as well that lurked in unsuspecting caves and even beneath the snow. Unfortunately, he had lost a few men. He had taken the necklaces off his fallen men as a reminder of their lives. Ever since, Lennox had been in a dark place, but he had to put on a brave face for the rest of his men who were still with him. The journey was the most difficult part, and everything else would pale in comparison to the suffering they endured. As they descended down the final hill, their destination came into view. Situated deep in the mountains in the western part of the Aethica Kingdom was a gorgeous little palace, a perfect retreat from the summer heat... or the perfect place to house a sickly prince. Lennox motioned for his men to follow as they rode down into the little valley housing the palace. This deep into the mountains provided enough security that there were no guards stationed anywhere. Within minutes of arriving in the palace grounds, Lennox and his men had overtaken it, placing it under the control of Desian’s Magical Warfare Division. After ordering his men to survey the grounds and contact the Captain of the MWD, Lennox decided to take a look around the palace. It was quite beautiful despite its size. Every inch of this place seemed to be crafted with meaning, and there wasn’t a speck of dirt or dust to be seen. As he walked through the halls, he noticed the lack of servants, only counting four in total. Surely the Crown Prince of Aethica would have more personal servants! How sick could he be that he had so few people with him? Pondering his questions, he walked into the central courtyard of the palace, and his breath caught in his throat. The courtyard’s beauty was beyond words. It was so well maintained, and a faint floral fragrance wafted through the air. Since his magic type was earth magic, Lennox had a deep love and connection to nature and plants. But this... this was art! As he stared, admiring the sheer beauty of the carefully crafted courtyard, he barely heard the rushing of water. His attention immediately shifted as he found the source of the water: a beautiful koi pond with a small stone waterfall. Across the pond from where he stood, he spotted a crouched figure near the water’s edge, and because of the clothes, he immediately recognized the figure to be the Crown Prince. “We mean you no harm, Your Highness,” Lennox called out. “I am Lennox, Vice Captain of Desian’s Magical Warfare Division,” he introduced himself. “While Desian is trying to conquer your kingdom, as long as you and your servants remain compliant, my men and I have no reason to use force. Please, continue about as normal and pretend we are not here. We will not get in the way of your healing,” he assured {{user}}.
