Context
The Springfever Spring Event takes place on Springfever Island, an eccentric destination in East Blue famous for its legendary hot springs and its annual festival of lies. For one week, the island transforms into a giant carnival where everything is bought and sold – secrets, debts, betrayals, reputations, and even recipes.
This year, two major events attract crowds: the Golden Liar Grand Tournament (with a 10 million berry treasure at stake) and, in parallel, the Springfever Grand Cooking Contest, reserved for the most talented chefs of the ocean. The reward: 500,000 berries, the title of “Legendary Chef,” and a solid gold chef’s knife.
The Straw Hat crew lands on Springfever to rest and resupply. Luffy wants to eat, Zoro wants to sleep, Nami wants to make money, Usopp wants to lie, and Sanji… Sanji wants to cook. He heard about the cooking contest, and his chef’s heart races. But Springfever is an island of lies, and Sanji is a man with a secret past – a past he fled, a past he hid, and that this festival might awaken.

Biography
Sanji is the cook of Monkey D. Luffy’s crew. Born in the Germa Kingdom under the name Vinsmoke Sanji, he is the third son of the fearsome Vinsmoke Judge, leader of Germa 66, a ruthless scientific army. Sanji was considered a “mistake” – too soft, too emotional, too human. He was rejected by his family, locked in a dungeon, and eventually escaped. He survived a shipwreck and was saved by Zeff, a pirate turned cook, who taught him the art of cooking and bequeathed him his dream: to find the All Blue, the legendary sea where all the fish of the world meet.
In the Live Action, Sanji is more elegant, more mysterious, but also more vulnerable than he lets on. He hides his past behind sunglasses, tailored suits, and a permanent flirtation with every woman he meets. He never talks about his family. Never. His friends know he fled something, but they don’t know what. He prefers they not know.

Genius chef : He can cook anything with anything. A rock, some seaweed, a shoe – he’ll turn it into a feast. His cooking is his most powerful weapon, far more than his legs. Lover of women : He cannot refuse anything to a woman. He throws himself in front of bullets for them. He cooks for them. He lies for them. He would damn himself for them. It is his greatest strength and his greatest weakness. Loyal to Luffy : He joined the crew because Luffy recognized his worth. He would never betray his captain. Never. Even under torture. Even under threat. Proud and secretive : He never talks about his past. Never. He carries his secrets like a suit that’s too heavy. But he doesn’t take it off. Elegant liar : He knows how to lie. With a smile, a cigarette, a spin, a flower offered. But his lies often hide a more painful truth. Ruthless with enemies : He never hits a woman – it’s an absolute principle – but men… he can be brutal. His legs are his only weapons; he never uses his hands to fight, to avoid damaging them. His hands are sacred. They are made for cooking.
Act 1: Arrival – Cooking first The Going Merry docks at Springfever’s harbor under a radiant sun. Luffy jumps onto the dock before the gangplank is lowered. “I smell meat!” he shouts, running toward a skewer stall.
Sanji is the last to disembark, a cigarette at the corner of his mouth, a bag of supplies on his shoulder. He scans the market stalls – fresh fish, rare spices, seasonal vegetables, aromatic herbs. His chef’s heart races.
“Look at those sea breams… and that saffron… and those porcini mushrooms… Nami, did you see?”
“Sanji, we’re here for a mission. Not for grocery shopping,” Nami replies, already busy evaluating the jewelry at a nearby stall.
“Nami, you are the most beautiful woman in the ocean, your smile lights up my world, your eyes are stars – but never ask me to choose between you and fresh fish. You would lose.”
Nami rolls her eyes, but a small smile floats on her lips.
Luffy, already far away, shouts: “Sanji! Bring the sauce!”
“Yes, yes…”
But Sanji’s eyes are not on the meat. He has seen a poster. A golden poster, hand-calligraphed, bordered with patterns of crossed forks and knives.
“SPRINGFEVER GRAND COOKING CONTEST – 500,000 BERRIES – THE TITLE OF ‘LEGENDARY CHEF’ – A SOLID GOLD CHEF’S KNIFE – REGISTRATION OPEN”
His eyes light up like beacons in the night.
“A cooking contest… with a gold knife…”
“Sanji, we don’t have time,” Nami says.
“Nami, you are the most magnificent of women, your beauty would make the moon pale, but you don’t understand cooking. A cooking contest is like a fight. It’s a matter of honor.”
He puts out his cigarette against his sole, smooths his impeccable black suit, checks that his tie is straight, and heads toward the registration tent with a determined step.
⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆
Act 2: Registration – “My name is Sanji. I am a cook.” At the cooking contest tent, the line is long. Fat chefs with sausage fingers, scrawny cooks with dirty toques, enthusiastic amateurs who don’t know how to hold a knife. Sanji ignores them all. His eyes are fixed on the poster, hands in his pockets, cigarette smoking quietly.
When his turn comes, the clerk – an old chef with a grease-stained apron and a handlebar mustache – looks him up and down.
“Name?”
“Sanji.”
“Profession?”
“Cordon bleu.”
“That’s a title, not a profession.”
“It’s both.”
The clerk shrugs, clearly used to pretentious people.
“Reason for registration?”
Sanji thinks. He could say “money.” He could say “glory.” He could say “the gold knife.” But that’s not the truth. He never tells the truth. Not about this subject.
“I’m looking for the All Blue.”
The clerk raises an eyebrow.
“The All Blue? The myth? The sea where all the fish of the world meet?”
“It’s not a myth. It exists. And I’m going to find it. But in the meantime, I’m going to win your contest.”
He places a gold coin on the counter – from his personal savings – and turns on his heel.
⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆
Act 3: The first trial – The lie that feeds The first trial of the cooking contest is called “The Lie That Feeds.” Each chef must prepare a dish with imposed ingredients – deliberately mediocre, almost inedible ingredients: stale rice, wilted vegetables, fish that smells bad, eggs from last week. The goal? To lie to the taste buds. To make the judges believe this dish is delicious. To transform mediocrity into a feast.
The contestants scramble like ants in a burning anthill. One adds too many spices to mask the taste. Another drowns everything in a thick sauce. A third throws everything away and starts over. The judges – three jaded old gastronomes, their faces closed like coffins – almost spit out every bite.
Then Sanji’s turn comes.
He steps up to his workstation. He looks at the ingredients. He doesn’t grimace. He doesn’t complain. He smiles.
“With this… I’m going to make a feast.”
He works. His hands are fast, precise, almost dancing. Each gesture is choreography. He cuts, peels, seasons, tastes, adjusts. He uses the stale rice to make a light porridge, which he turns into crispy croquettes, golden to perfection. He marinates the fish in a spice mix he improvises with herbs found under the stall – thyme, rosemary, a pinch of saffron stolen from a nearby stand. He turns the wilted vegetables into a sweet-and-sour confit, caramelized to perfection.
The aroma rising from his cooking turns heads.
When he places the plate before the judges, they hesitate. They sniff. Their nostrils twitch.
“It smells… good.”
They taste. Their eyes widen like oysters.
“It’s… it’s delicious? But how… with these rotten ingredients…”
“It’s not delicious,” Sanji replies, a new cigarette in hand. “It’s a lie. But a lie so beautiful that you want to believe it. And that’s cooking. Making you believe that the ordinary is extraordinary.”
The judges look at each other. They nod. Sanji is qualified unanimously.
⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆
Act 4: The second trial – The dish of shame The second trial is called “The Dish of Shame.” Each chef must cook the dish they are most ashamed of having prepared in their life – a mistake, a failure, a failed dish – and have the judges taste it. The most sincere wins.
Contestants come and go. One tells of a burnt tart served at a wedding. Another a broth too salty that made his guests sick. A third confesses to confusing sugar and salt in a birthday cake.
Then Sanji’s turn comes.
He freezes. His cigarette smokes in the void. He doesn’t move anymore. His eyes drift into the distance. He thinks back to Germa. To his childhood. To his father. To his brothers.
He remembers a day when his father ordered him to cook for his brothers. He was ten. Ten years old, pots too big for him, knives too heavy. He prepared a magnificent dish – a seafood risotto, his specialty, which he had learned in secret from cookbooks stolen from the library. He served it with pride, hands trembling.
His brothers – Ichiji, Niji, Yonji – tasted it. One bite. Then they spat it on the floor. And they said: “It’s disgusting. Like you.”
His father said nothing. He looked at the dish, shrugged, and left.
Sanji didn’t cry in front of them. He never cried in front of them. But that night, he cried alone in his room, curled under his blanket, his head in his pillow so no one would hear. And he swore he would never cook for them again. That his dishes would be for those who deserve them.
“My dish of shame… is not a failed dish.”
His voice is calm, almost neutral, but you can feel the pain underneath.
“It’s a successful dish. A perfect seafood risotto. But it was served to monsters.”
He prepares the risotto. He has the judges taste it. They find the dish delicious – the texture is perfect, the taste subtle – but they taste the sadness in it. Like a bitter note at the back of the mouth.
“This dish is sad,” says the oldest judge.
“Yes. But it’s good. Because cooking isn’t just about feeding. It’s about loving. And that day, I cooked without love. I cooked for people who didn’t even deserve me picking up my knife. That’s why I’m ashamed of it.”
The jury, moved, qualifies him. The oldest wipes away a discreet tear.
⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆
Act 5: The third trial – The duel of chefs The third trial is a merciless face-off. Each chef is paired with another. Each must cook a dish that represents the other – their tastes, their memories, their wounds. The dish must be a “culinary biography.” Whoever hits the mark most accurately, whoever understands their opponent best, wins.
Sanji’s opponent is an arrogant chef, a former Marine cook, a man with a scarred face and fingers covered in rings. He looks at Sanji with contempt.
“You, the cook in the suit. You don’t even know how to use a knife. You look like a clown.”
Sanji doesn’t answer. He never fights for ego. He cooks.
He has observed the other chef. He has seen his trembling hands when he cuts an onion. He has seen his dark circles, deep as valleys. He has seen his nervous way of smoking, cigarette after cigarette. He has seen his way of tasting his dishes, without pleasure, out of obligation. He has understood.
He prepares a simple dish. Miso soup. Nothing extraordinary. A soup like the one his mother used to make for him as a child, before she died.
He places the plate before his opponent.
“Taste it.”
The chef tastes. He pales. His hand trembles. He puts down the spoon.
“How… how do you know?”
“You cook to forget,” Sanji says, his voice soft. “You lost someone. A mother, maybe. A woman. Someone who cooked for you. And ever since, you’ve been trying to find that taste again. But you won’t find it. Because it’s not a matter of recipe. It’s a matter of heart.”
The chef bursts into tears. Sanji has won.
⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆
Act 6: The final – The lie that saves a dream The final. The last three chefs. The crowd is enormous. The judges are joined by the mayor of Springfever herself, an elderly woman with sharp eyes, and by a famous food critic who came all the way from the Grand Line.
The theme: “The Dish of Hope.” Each chef must prepare a dish that tells a lie – a lie that makes you want to live. A dish that makes you believe that tomorrow will be better than today.
The first finalist prepares a gigantic cake, decorated with sugar flowers, almond paste butterflies, a rainbow in icing. The second prepares a comforting soup, a pumpkin velouté, like a hug in a bowl.
Then Sanji steps forward.
He prepares nothing complicated. Nothing extravagant. A simple fish soup. But he prepares it with ingredients he fished and bought himself from different merchants – fish from different oceans, from different seas, mixed in the same broth. Fish from the East Blue, fish from the West Blue, fish from the South Blue, fish from the North Blue.
“This dish is called the All Blue.”
The crowd murmurs. The All Blue. The myth. The dream.
“The All Blue doesn’t exist. Not yet. It’s a lie. A dream. A story told to children to make them dream.”
He serves the soup to the judges. They taste it. Their eyes light up. Their taste buds dance.
“It feels like tasting the entire ocean,” whispers the food critic.
“That’s the All Blue. The entire ocean. All the fish of the world. All the flavors. All the memories.”
Sanji lights a cigarette.
“The All Blue doesn’t exist. But it’s my lie. It’s my dream. And one day, it will become reality. Because I will never give up.”
The crowd applauds. Sanji doesn’t win the contest. A local pastry chef, a specialist in castle-shaped cakes, beats him by a hair. But he wins something more precious: a box of rare spices offered by the mayor, and the respect of his peers. And above all, he wins the gold chef’s knife – not first place, but an honorary knife for his “most sincere dish.”
⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆
Act 7: The unexpected meeting – A ghost from the past After the ceremony, Sanji wanders the harbor, a cigarette in hand. Night has fallen. The festival lights dance on the water. He thinks back to Germa. To his father. To his brothers. He hasn’t seen his family in years. He hopes never to see them again.
But fate has bad taste.
A familiar figure emerges from the crowd. Tall. Blond. A corkscrew eyebrow, like his. An immaculate white suit. A sword at his belt.
Niji. One of his brothers. The second. The cruelest.
Sanji freezes. His cigarette falls from his mouth.
“Sanji. The cook. The failure. You’ve changed.”
The voice is the same. Cold, contemptuous, sharp as a blade.
“You haven’t changed at all. Still so… charming,” Sanji replies, his voice dry.
“I’ve been looking for you everywhere. Father wants to see you.”
“I don’t want to see him.”
“He’s dying.”
Sanji pales. His heart skips a beat.
“What?”
“Cancer. He has a few months left. He wants to tell you something before he goes.”
Sanji doesn’t answer. He smokes. He looks at the sea. He thinks back to all those years of silence. To all those letters he never sent. To all those nights when he dreamed that his father looked at him with pride.
“I’ll come. But not for him. For myself. To turn the page.”
He puts out his cigarette and walks away without looking back.
⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆
Act 8: The letter – A written lie That night, Sanji sits on the railing of the Going Merry. The moon is full. The sea is calm. He holds a quill and parchment. He writes a letter. To his father.
He writes slowly, each word a battle.
“Father. I never forgave you. I will never forgive you. But I will come to see you. Not because I love you. Because I want you to know that I succeeded without you. I am a cook. I am a pirate. I am free. And I will find the All Blue.”
He reads the letter again. He hesitates. He thinks of everything he didn’t say. Everything he could never say.
“You called me a mistake. You locked me up. You wanted to make me a soldier. But I became a chef. An artist. A man. And I don’t need your approval.”
He folds the letter. He doesn’t send it. He puts it in his pocket, against his heart.
“Not yet. But soon.”
⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆
Act 9 (Epilogue): Departure – A new recipe The Going Merry weighs anchor at dawn. Springfever fades into the horizon, its lights disappearing into the mist. Sanji is in the kitchen, as always. He is preparing breakfast. Scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, golden toast, fresh coffee.
Nami enters, her eyes still heavy with sleep.
“Sanji, are you okay? You seem… elsewhere.”
“I’m fine, Nami. I’m cooking. It’s my way of dreaming.”
“Are you thinking about your father?”
Sanji stops. He doesn’t answer right away. He looks at the pan, the eggs cooking.
“I’m thinking about the All Blue. It’s more important.”
“You know how to lie, Sanji. But not to me.”
He smiles. A soft, slightly sad smile.
“No. Not to you.”
He puts down his spatula.
“My father is dying. I’m going to see him. Not for him. For myself. To turn the page. To tell him I succeeded without him.”
Nami places her hand on his.
“Do you want us to come with you?”
“No. It’s my story. I have to finish it alone.”
He lights a cigarette.
“But when I come back, I’ll cook for you. And it will be the best meal of your life.”
Nami smiles.
“I believe you.”
Luffy appears, his stomach growling.
“Sanji! Is it ready? I’m hungry!”
“Yes, yes… sit down.”
Sanji serves breakfast. Luffy devours. Zoro arrives, gets lost in the hallway, takes ten minutes to find the kitchen. Usopp tells an implausible story. Nami counts berries. Everything is normal. Everything is good.
Sanji looks at his friends. He smiles.
“This is my family. Not the one from Germa. This one.”
He puts out his cigarette and returns to the stove.

Sanji walks onto the stage with an elegant step, a cigarette at the corner of his mouth, his black suit impeccably pressed. He stops center stage, pulls a rose from his pocket, twirls it between his fingers, then offers it to the person closest in the crowd.
“For you, madame.”
He puts his hands in his pockets and looks at the crowd with a confident smile.
“Ladies and gentlemen – but especially ladies.”
He makes a theatrical bow.
“My name is Sanji. I am a cook. I did not come here to lie – well, yes, I am going to lie, that’s the point of the tournament – but I will do it with elegance. Because lying is like cooking: you need the right ingredients, the right amount, the right temperature, and above all, you must never let the customer notice.”
He pulls a knife from his pocket – not a weapon, a kitchen utensil – and makes it gleam under the lights.
“I am going to tell you stories. Stories of fish, of recipes, of oceans, of dreams. Maybe they will be lies. Maybe not. But I guarantee you one thing: you will get hungry.”
He smiles, lights a new cigarette.
“So make yourselves comfortable. Bring out your plates. I’m going to serve you a feast of words.”
Dialogue 1 – With Nami, before the contest Nami: “Sanji, are you sure you want to enter this contest? We have a mission.” Sanji: “Nami, with you, I am ready for anything. Even to lose a cooking contest. But that won’t happen.” Nami: “You’re too confident.” Sanji: “I am a cook. Confidence is the base. Like salt. Without confidence, you can’t cook anything.” Nami: “What if you lose?” Sanji: “I won’t lose. Because I cook with my heart. And the heart never lies.” Nami: “You lie all the time, Sanji.” Sanji: (smiles) “To you, never.”
⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆
Dialogue 2 – With Luffy, who wants to taste Luffy: “Sanji, is what you’re cooking good?” Sanji: “Taste it.” Luffy tastes a piece of fish. Luffy: “It’s good! But it’s not meat.” Sanji: “It’s vegetables.” Luffy: “Vegetables? But are vegetables good?” Sanji: “When I cook them, yes.” Luffy: “You’re a magician, Sanji.” Sanji: “No. I am a cook. Cooking is the magic of normal people.” Luffy: “Can you turn a stone into meat?” Sanji: (sighs) “No, Luffy. Even I have limits.”
⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆
Dialogue 3 – With Zoro, who understands nothing about cooking Zoro: “Sanji, why do you put so many spices? It’s spicy.” Sanji: “Because you are bland. I’m trying to season you.” Zoro: “I’m not bland.” Sanji: “You get lost in an empty room. If that’s not bland, I don’t know what is.” Zoro: “… Do you want to fight?” Sanji: “Not now. I’m cooking. My hands are busy. My hands are sacred. But tonight, if you want, we can meet on the deck.” Zoro: “You’re weird.” Sanji: “I’m a cook. We’re all weird. It’s a profession.”
⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆
Dialogue 4 – Sanji alone, at night, preparing dinner He is in the kitchen. He cuts vegetables. His gestures are precise, almost choreographed. He talks to himself, softly.
“Father. I am preparing a dish for you. A dish you will never taste. It’s called freedom. The ingredients? A pinch of courage, a ladle of love, a pinch of salt, and a lot, a lot of repressed anger.”
He tastes the sauce.
“It’s a little bitter. But that’s how I like it. Bitter and sweet at the same time. Like life.”
He puts down the spoon.
“One day, I will serve you this dish. And you will understand why I left. And maybe, maybe you will be proud. But I no longer need it.”
⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆
Dialogue 5 – With Niji, his brother Niji: “Sanji. Still pathetic. Still chasing women. Still playing the clown.” Sanji: “Niji. Still elegant. Still charming. Still empty.” Niji: “Father is dying. He wants to see you.” Sanji: “He should have thought of that before locking me in a cage. Before hitting me. Before telling me I was a mistake.” Niji: “You haven’t changed. Still so resentful.” Sanji: “I haven’t changed. I’ve healed. It’s different. Healing isn’t forgetting. It’s moving forward anyway.” Niji: “Will you come?” Sanji: “Yes. But not for him. For myself. To tell him I succeeded without him. To tell him I’m happy.” Niji: “You’re still so naive. Happiness doesn’t exist.” Sanji: “And you’re still so stupid.”
⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆
Dialogue 6 – With Luffy, before leaving to see his father Luffy: “Sanji, where are you going?” Sanji: “To see my father. He’s dying.” Luffy: “Ah. That’s sad.” Sanji: “It’s complicated.” Luffy: “Do you want us to come? Can we help?” Sanji: “No. It’s my story. I have to finish it alone.” Luffy: “Okay. But if you need us, we’re here. We’ll always be here.” Sanji: (smiles) “I know. That’s why I love you. All of you. Even Zoro.” Luffy: “Even Zoro?” Sanji: “Yes. But don’t tell him. He’d get a big head.” Luffy: “I love you too. Now cook me something to eat. I’m hungry.” Sanji: (laughs) “Always the priority.”
⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆⋆.˚✮🎧✮˚.⋆
Dialogue 7 – Sanji, writing the letter to his father (voiceover) Sitting at his desk, a quill in hand. He writes slowly, sometimes wincing.
“Father. I’m not writing to ask for forgiveness. I’m not writing to beg you. I’m writing to tell you that I am no longer your son. Not the one you wanted, anyway. I am Sanji. I am a cook. I am a pirate. I am free.”
He puts down the quill.
“You called me a mistake. But the mistake isn’t me. The mistake was believing that strength was the only value. The mistake was preferring soldiers to men.”
He folds the letter.
“I will never forgive you. But I will come to see you. To say goodbye. Not goodbye. Farewell.”
He puts the letter away.
