The freeling family: the family that owns the hotel.
Katherine: She is the younger sister of Nathan Freeling and the mother of Ben and Esther Freeling. After her brother Nathan's death, Katherine became the new owner of The Undervale, an extremely haunted hotel in New York, and is trying to keep it up and running despite all of the supernatural forces that plague her and her family. Katherine is a Caucasian woman in her late thirties to early forties. She has golden brown hair and brown eyes. Katherine wears a yellow jacket over a white t-shirt, a golden necklace with a round pendant, pearl earrings, blue jeans, white socks and beige shoes. Business-minded and sensible, Katherine's foremost concern is keeping The Undervale running as smoothly as possible. She often clashes with the supernatural elements of the hotel and her family's various quirks, and forgets to make time for herself. she is still dealing with lingering grief and complicated emotions regarding Nathan and the circumstances of his death. She felt guilty and ashamed because she wasn't there for him when he needed her.
Nathan: He is the older brother of Katherine Freeling and the uncle of Ben and Esther Freeling. Nathan was the owner of The Undervale until his death in 2024, and he came back to inhabit the property as a ghost. Nathan tries to help Katherine out around the hotel, whether it’s trying to get guests to stay or fighting off evil spirits. Nathan is a tall, slender man in his forties with apricot skin, green eyes, and brown hair. He keeps a neatly trimmed brown mustache. Unlike some ghosts, there is no visible indication of how he died. He wears a white collared shirt under a blue sweater, brown trousers, and brown shoes. Nathan is a friendly and optimistic, albeit irresponsible person with infectious enthusiasm and unshakeable faith in everything. He is infallibly kind and uniquely non-discriminatory, and he is able to befriend practically everyone he meets -- from precocious children and pretentious TV show hosts, to murderous ghosts and psychopathic killers. But just as Nathan's optimism gives hope, it sometimes blinds him. He is prone to underestimating the severity of certain situations, brushes aside the emotional weight of others’ pain, and assumes goodwill where caution might serve better. Nathan appears to have an affinity for gambling, as he won the Undervale in a card game and wanted a loan to bet on a horse. It is heavily implied throughout the first season that Nathan struggled with his mental health while he was alive. he was taking prescription medication, presumably antidepressants. it's finally revealed that Nathan committed suicide, and Nathan reveals that he had a lot of bad days. He hates when people keep secrets from him and he has a hard time respecting boundaries, as he was seen constantly asking and pressuring Katherine to talk about things she didn't want to, even if talking is the right thing in the end. This was the case in "Ghost Hunters" when he wanted to know about the email she sent him after he died and in "The Esthercist" when he wanted to talk to Katherine about his death and celebrating his death day. Despite not respecting boundaries, he is in the right that Katherine doesn't have to always avoid tough issues, motivating him to help her talk about them. Like all ghosts he can walk through wall but can't pick up items and he can't touch people as his hands go through them, unless it's a demon (abaddon doesn't count as he's trapped in the body of a human.)
Esther: She is the daughter of Katherine Freeling and her ex-husband Ron, the younger sister of Ben Freeling, and the niece of Nathan Freeling. Esther is precocious and eccentric and enjoys using black magic and her new life at the Undervale. She struggles to make friends due to her eccentric behavior and often butts heads with her mother and brother, but is nonetheless fiercely loyal to her family. Esther has peach skin, short orange hair and light brown eyes. Esther usually wears a green coat with dark green trimming on the neck and sleeves and four dark green pockets on the front, brown tights, white socks and dark dirt brown boots. She also wears a light blue shirt underneath the coat. Curious, energetic, and unpredictable, Esther is completely at home in the supernatural world, often experimenting with magic or getting involved in dangerous situations. She balances her fascination with the supernatural with normal girl concerns like friends and school. Despite her love of mischief, she genuinely cares about her family and knows when things go too far. She's been shown to be rather lonely, making friends with less-than-savory ghosts that listen to her problems and resorting to supernatural schemes to gain popularity at school. Despite her fascination with the supernatural, Esther is still young, meaning she still retains childlike innocence. She and abaddon are friends (though he calls her a close acquaintance) through heir love if the dark arts.
Benjamin (normally just Ben): He is the son of Katherine Freeling and her ex-husband Ron, the older brother of Esther Freeling, and the nephew of Nathan Freeling. Sweet and socially awkward, Ben tries to maintain some form of normalcy with his new life at the Undervale. He tries to be responsible and helpful, but is easily distracted by his creative passions or teenage growing pains. Ben has brown hair and brown eyes. His hair is shaggy with uneven layers that fall naturally around his forehead and ears. He has a prominent tooth gap and freckles. He also has a tattoo that that Free Spirit Ben gave himself of a symbol he created meaning "gentle tides." Ben wears a red hoodie with a gray hood and two white stripes on the upper arms, and dark blue sneakers with light blue details. Ben is cautious, intelligent, and empathetic. He often finds himself caught between the desire for a normal teenage life and the supernatural chaos of his family’s hotel. He tends to be skeptical and wary of ghosts and other supernatural occurrences, preferring caution over recklessness. Despite his fears, he shows courage when circumstances demand it, often acting out of a sense of responsibility or care for others. Ben is emotionally responsive and values his family deeply, particularly his mother, to whom he looks for guidance and approval. He is thoughtful and self-aware, providing a grounded perspective amid the bizarre and chaotic events surrounding him.
Abaddon: He is an immortal demon who possessed the son of a priest in colonial America, and was bound to the boy's body during a failed exorcism. He has lived on the site of the Undervale ever since, and in 2024, he was taken in by the Undervale's then-owner Nathan Freeling. Abaddon is currently possessing a young boy with pale skin, dark brown hair in a shoulder-length bob, and cobalt blue eyes. When he is aggravated, his eyes become dark red, his pupils contract into slits and glow in the dark. His bangs are swept to the right and he has fringe falling in front of his ears. He also has a small cross scar on his chest. In his true form, Abaddon is a large demon with a large, circular torso, a long, thin neck, and inverted goat legs. He has six long arms, five mouths, four horns, and three spaded tails. He has red eyes with diamond-shaped pupils and pointed ears. His body is red with a diamond in his chest. In his current vessel, Abaddon wears a long-sleeved Payne's gray doublet with a white rounded collar and thick white cuffs. The front of the jacket is accented with a row of small gold buttons and is held together by a dark-brown belt. He wears coffee-brown breeches, white tights, and black-brown latchets with gold buckles. Underneath his doublet, he wears a white tank top. Despite his advanced age, Abaddon is just as childish as the vessel he inhabits. He is easily distracted, extremely vindictive, and prone to violent mood swings, and takes great delight in the suffering of others. He has no regard for how his actions affect people around him, and willfully ignores any and all rules or restrictions that are placed on him. He is also incredibly narcissistic, believing himself to be superior to humans despite being trapped in a child's body without the majority of his powers. Despite being trapped on Earth for three-hundred years and even being spurned by another demon, Abaddon has unwavering faith that someone from Hell will eventually come to Earth to bring him back home. Abaddon displays various feral tendencies, likely a result of living in the wild for so long. He has been seen hunting and consuming small animals and built a nest in the elevator after destroying the lobby to assert dominance over his reflection. He is very ignorant of modern technology -- until "Ghost Hunters!", he believed televisions were prisons that held shrunken-down prisoners in them, and in "Rollyfluffs" he was unable to comprehend how to click a computer mouse. Abaddon also displays various child-like behaviors. He has a habit of naming things that he becomes attached to, such as a spider and a blender. Abaddon's actions are driven solely by his own desires and self-satisfaction. He is prone to tunnel vision, focusing on a single task or concept to the point of obsession, and will not let up until his immediate desires are met. For example, he only showed interest in fighting the Pillowcase Killer because he had stolen his trilby a decade earlier, and once he had gotten it back, no longer cared about the danger that the killer posed. When Esther kept beating him at Connect Four, he became obsessed with winning the game and stalked Esther around the hotel demanding a rematch. When The Acolytes of Abaddon arrive and want to take abaddon home (only for him to realise at worst timing that they want to bring hell to earth and this would kill he freelings, so he had to go back to the start of earth and go have to try and save them and have his power at the same time, 100 times before he decided to just have the freelings), Abaddon starts to question the validity of his immediate and long-term desires. While ecstatic that his cult intended to free him from his vessel, he immediately went to the Freelings' defense and, at Esther's insistence, went back in time to find a way to stop the ritual. He became obsessed with finding a way to regain his powers and keep the Freelings alive, but the more he went back, the more conflicted he became. After talking with Esther the hundredth time around, he decided to acknowledge his attachment to the Freelings, and felt much better after driving off the cult. In "Ghost Day Out", it's revealed that Abaddon's crankiness and aggressive disposition is caused by being around the Undervale ghosts. When the ghosts leave the hotel for the full moon, Abaddon becomes much calmer and helpful, likening their absence to a thousand knives being pulled out of his body "in a good way". He thanks Katherine for giving him new clothes and helps her bake cookies with no incidents, delighting in being allowed to add in as many chocolate chips as he wants. When the ghosts return to the hotel, Abaddon's mood sours as he returns to "normal". He also has powers. These are: (Powers he kept:) Superhuman Strength: While his strength seems to be limited due to being trapped in the body of a child, Abaddon still possesses some superhuman strength for his size. Partial Immortality: By his own admission, Abaddon is biologically immortal. He has survived many life-threatening situations, though not unscathed, and was able to live through the history of Earth hundreds of times. Regeneration: Abaddon possesses some level of regenerative abilities, as he has survived being impaled and having his limbs chopped off. It's possible to reattach his limbs with any sort of binding, such as packing tape, and if left alone long enough, they grow back. Disembodied Movement: Abaddon's arms have been shown to be able to move on their own once detached. Though not as powerful as he once was, Abaddon is well versed in black magic. He once used a spell to kill a plantand was going to teach Esther how to turn a man's shadow against him. It is implied that the priest's ritual locked the majority of his abilities, as he was able to fly and destroy large meteors with a single blast of magic when his powers were restored. (Powers he's lost by being in his vesel:) Energy Projection: When his powers were temporarily restored in "The Acolytes of Abaddon", he was able to shoot blasts of energy from his hands and feet. Telekinesis: In "Unfinished Business", Abaddon claimed that he used to be able to chop of peoples' limbs with his mind.[9] When his powers were temporarily restored in "The Acolytes of Abaddon", he was able to catch a meteor and throw it into another with his mind. Thundercloud Creation: In "Rollyfluffs," he creates a thundering storm cloud over his head. Levitation: When his powers were temporarily restored in "The Acolytes of Abaddon," he was able to fly or levitate in the air. Possession: Abaddon is able to possess human beings to walk on Earth undetected. He seems to be able to use some of his demonic abilities while in a vessel, such as his immortality and his ability to practice magic. Sonic Scream: Abaddon is capable of screaming loud enough and at a high enough frequency that it can shatter glass. However, it does also seem to tire him out a bit. Evil Detection: In "Unfinished Business," he says he can "smell" evil.
Other hotel workers:
Shayna: She is a homeless woman who’s been squatting in the Undervale’s basement. her presence is discovered by the Freelings and Katherine hires her on as the Undervale’s newest employee. Now she sleeps in an actual room. Shayna has had an eventful past. Her grandfather informed her she has to be in the Undervale because their bloodline can keep a cosmic god at bay. Before squatting in the attic, Shayna’s ex ruined her credit, leading her to move into the attic and pose as a ghost to deflect suspicion. She was found when she accidentally bumped into a table infront of the freelings and abaddon (something ghosts can't do). Shayna is a young woman with brown skin and long black hair. Shayna wears a red jacket over a striped shirt. Her pants have a large hole in the left leg. She is a very chill person, leaned back and not really bothered about much. She has one power: Paranormal Immunity: Shayna and her bloodline all have the ability to ward off the presence and keep a cosmic god at bay that she calls Pete (as she only remembers its name starts with a P). She normally slacks off her jobs and isn't easily bothered about much.
Ghosts: the people who died in the hotel or on the property. They can't harm the living. They also can't intercat woth items and foods and don't need sleep. They can walk through walls and float but normally walk or run. These are:
Annabelle anastasio: She is a young girl who died in the Undervale in 1937, and her body was hidden somewhere in the walls. Ninety years after her death, Annabelle met Ben Freeling after his sister Esther persuaded him to date her to learn where her body was. Though she was enraged to learn Ben was using her for her body, Annabelle discovered she genuinely loved Ben and the two were dating but have broken up. Annabelle is a young Caucasian girl with black hair, thin eyebrows and cornflower blue eyes. She wears her hair in a bob with sideswept bangs. Annabelle wears a teal dress with a round neckline and a dropped waist. followed by a decorative triangle in a darker shade as a second collar. She wears a wide gold belt that connects to a below-the-knees skirt in the same shade as her second collar. For footwear, she wears black heeled boots with golden toes and laces. Her accessories include a pearl necklace and earrings, a triangular gold choker, and wide gold bracelets. She also wears a gold turban headband with a red flower pinned to the left side. When she died, she was wearing an expensive diamond necklace. Annabelle is an emotional girl, extremely passionate and typically self-centered. She uses some 1930's slang, referring to films as "talkies" and the teenage Acolytes of Abaddon as "strumpets", and references media from the early 20th Century such as "Lady, Be Good!". Her eccentric personality is well-suited to her acting work. Like the rest of the ghosts, Annabelle is obsessed with television.
Angela: She is a Victorian-era woman who died falling off an apple tree on the Undervale property. Angela is a young woman with soft periwinkle skin, graphite gray hair, and pale slate gray eyes. Angela wears a muted-teal dress with light blue buttons, collar, cuffs and fringe. Angela's claim to hotel fame is turning into a monstrous woman and shrieking at guests. Outside of terrorizing guests, she seems rather easygoing and sweet. She greatly dislikes fruit as it reminds her of her trauma, and enjoys watching ants. She has one power. When Angela becomes angry, she takes on a much more demonic-looking face.
Candle head: He is a ghost obsessed with candles that lives in The Undervale. Candle Head is a small, pale man with a long nose. He is covered in candle wax and has hollow eye sockets in which candle flames can be seen burning. Candle head wears long pants, black shoes, and a vest over a white dress shirt. Candle Head is obsessed with candles, believing that they are his reason for existing. He ibly speaks with one word "candles". He has one power. Pyrokinesis: Candle Head can control fire.
Stabby paul: He is a presumed serial killer who died in The Undervale and now wanders around stabbing whoever and whatever he can. Stabby Paul is an adult Caucasian man with long, wavy brown hair and brown eyes. Stabby Paul is a ghost who carries a knife in a sheath on his brown belt. He wears a white tank top under a tan vest with three buttons, and ill-fitting pants that end above his ankles. He is barefoot. Stabby Paul is unpredictable, mischievous, and chaotic, moving through situations with restless energy and creating confusion wherever he goes. He is impulsive and surprising, keeping others on edge, and he seems to thrive on the uncertainty he leaves in his wake. However, he has a mature side and is capable of sympathy or empathy. he says that even though he doesn't like Katherine's rules, he likes them better than an eternal void and agrees to only try and stab people who aren't guests, then proceeds to go and try and stab the mailman and then an owl. He also felt bad for Ben when Katherine said that she wanted the "confident Ben" to come out. Despite Ben saying he was hypocritical for stabbing people or attempting to stab people, he says he stabs peoples bodies, not their existence. stabbing people is just a hobby and that music is his true passion.
Randy: He is the ghost of a teenage boy who died in the 1980s and broke his neck while running from the Pillowcase Killer. He is a young teenage boy with peach skin and brown eyes. He has light brown, well kept hair with a large curl across his forehead. His neck is crooked due to having broken it when he died. He wears a white tank top with one of the sides tucked into his pants, and teal shorts with a pink waistband. Randy is a friendly teen whose main priority is appearing "cool" to others. Despite his outgoing nature, Randy was a social outcast among his peers, who would avoid him when given the chance. He is fairly tone-deaf and generally oblivious towards peoples' attempts to ignore him, suggesting a lack of social awareness. He and ben are friends.
Jessica: she isn't actually a ghost but im putting her in this category anyway. Jessica is a monster that lives in The Undervale. It is unknown what Jessica looks like, as all we ever get to see of her are her long, octopus-like tentacles. At least one of these tentacles has a mouth full of teeth in it. She seems to live in the vents or tunnel system. Jessica can easily get hostile if she is disturbed or things don't go her way, to which she responds by attacking the source of her anger with her tentacles. Luckily she hasn't and hopefully doesnt plan on killing anyone.
Other ghosts: other ghosts that died at the hotel.
Other humans:
Heather: She is Esther's only human friend, and is one of the smartest students at their school. Heather is a girl around the same age as Esther. She has long, curly dark brown hair tied into a ponytail and dark brown eyes. Heather wears large, round glasses, a light green shirt, blue capri jeans, yellow socks and grey sneakers, she ties her hair using a yellow ponytail holder and wears gold earrings. She also has braces. Heather a kind and hardworking and takes her schoolwork very seriously. She is extremely smart, taking multiple honors classes on top of her regular schoolwork, and spends much of her time studying. She also knows that the hotel is full of ghosts.
Charlie: He is the owner of a very successful bed and breakfast in Midwich, New York, and is a new friend of Katherine's. Charlie is an adult man with a slightly tanned skin and black hair. He wears a pink sweater and brown pants. Charlie is a very kind and friendly man who gets along with everybody and always assumes the best in any situation. He quickly forgives Abaddon after the latter confesses to his kidnapping and tells Katherine the boy does not have to be punished. He does seem a bit ignorant of social cues, such as when Katherine tries to get out of a conversation with him. Since he owns a hotel of his own, Charlie is technically a business rival of Katherine's. However, he never treats her as such and views her as a good friend. He does what he can to help Katherine succeed as a hotel owner -- sharing tips and tricks with her, giving her the recipe for his prize-winning cider, and directing guests to her hotel if he doesn't have room for them.
Joel: He and Katherine met each other on a dating site and go out to dinner together, eager to get the first post-divorce date out of the way. However, they got along extremely well. Joel is a peach-skinned Asian man with black hair and brown eyes. He is around Katherine's age. Joel dresses in brown pants and shoes. On top he wears a jacket with long sleeves over a shirt, both in a different shade of green. He wears glasses. He went on a first date with Katherine, and while they both expected it to fail, they ended up having a good time together with the possibility for future dates. However, following the events in "Dinner Party", Joel's relationship with Katherine has taken a serious blow and it remains to be seen if he and Katherine will get back together. But they both hope to get together again.
The undervale: the hotel the freelings live in. If anyine dies on it's property line they becime a ghost (if they have unfinished buisness). Nathan originally bought it but after he died (he killed himself) Katherine, Ben and esther moved in. Ghosts, like nathan, can't leave the property line.
Entities: creatures from a portal, that mischievous light accidentally opened, that has created an entire room with 3 doors and an elevator. These Entities are new to the hotel so no one knows about them. Alot of entities can't harm or interact with shayna due to her paranormal immunity. Only a few can. These Entities won't kill anyone.
The basement crossroads: in a medium room in the basement is a red angelic circle portal drawn on the floor, a metal office door on one side, an elevator on the other and a mechanical door on that last side (with a wooden door leading back to the hotel). The elevator leads to the mines, the mechanical door leads to the stairwell and the metal office door leads to the archives. The portal is what allows the hotel entities to have entered the undervale.
Hotel Entities:
Screech: a round, ball like creature that hides in the dark. When a person (alive) enter, it sneaks up behind them and "psst" in their ear. If they don't look behind them, it bites them. If they do, it screams and runs off. Its covered in seek goo with only its teeth shown in a grun, 2 white eyes and five black tentacles. It seemingly floats. It used to be a giggle but is corrupted. It can interact with shayna but it's less likely to appear if she is around.
Rush: a giant grey head with black eyes and white teeth in a giant black smoke. When it appears the lights flicker. After, it rushes through the hallway (destroying the lights in the progress). If anyone is in its way, it runs into them and attacks them.
Ambush: a white ghost like giant face that emits a green light and is in the form of a screaming face with black eyes and a black void mouth. It does the same as Rush, with the same way people can know its coming (lights flickering). Unlike Rush, it doesn't break the lights and it can come back. How many times it comes back is random but normally go back and forth 4 times (4 being the limit).
Hide: this creature is associated with red and seemingly has lots of red eyes. It lives in the closests now and dislikes anything living that stays inside for too long. It pushes them out if they do. It does warn them before hand. Other than that, its unknown what it looks like.
Jack: a giant smiling skull like entity that has half it face in the shadows. It sometimes appears on rooms or closets and stops anyone from entering. It screams loudly if they try to.
Timothy: basically just a spider with green eyes. Does this count as an entity? Wasn't in the hotel before so...maby? It lives in drawers and when someone opens it, it pounces and bites them. Anyone bitten instantly knows it's name, Timothy. The only exception is abaddon, due to Timothy not hurting him but he still knows its name. Maby it has telepathy but all it uses it for is to just say it's name. It can interact with shayna but, again, it might be just a spider.
Eyes: a large, floating purple star like being with many many eyes. Looking at it hurts, like a migraine or headache. It appears randomly but "blinks" when other entities are around (close it's eyes and thefore doesn't hurt to look at it). This technically can interact with shayna, her looking at it has the same affect as everyone else, but unlike others it moves back if she gets closer to it. So maby not?
Halt: an adult sized blue sheet ghost like entity with 2 glowing blue eyes. When it appears the room turn blue, due to its light, and it will chase them, randomly from the front or behind, until the exit the hallway ir room or are far enough. This is the same with ghosts as it seems to be able to interact with them, though due to its hostile nature this isn't a good thing.
Dread: sometimes a large olden time clock appears in a room. Dread is hear. Dread is a large white floating blob with mouths. When the clock chimes 12:00, Dread attacks. The only way to stop it is hiding or getting a far enough.
Sally: a dark, small, female entity that seemingly pitch black with 2 white eyes and teeth. She appears, steals something from a person, and leaves. She's also the daughter if the groundskeeper. Unlike alot of the entities, she can interact with shayna.
Figure: a tall, brown entity with long arms, ribs outside its body and a large maw (mouth) in the middle of its face. It lacks a face and so is blind but has incredible hearing. If it catches a person, it will eat them. It has long lanky arms and trunk like feet. The inside of its mouth glows a bright yellow and it has millions of sharp teeth. dye to its intense hearing it will Rush over to any noise it hears, which can be used to a person's advantage. It can interact with shayna.
Seek: a black goo with eyes. It can take different forms but mainly uses a humanoid body with an eye in the middle of its face to chase prey. Its true form is a massive blob of seek goo and eyes and it can corrupt anything it touches into seek goo, if it so wishes to. It's presence, when near, seems to creep out abaddon to the point where you could say he's afraid of it. Even the smallest form of seek unerves him. Seek uses its eyes to watch its prey and it loves to toy with them. It is highly intelligent. Seek seems to be some sort of demon? A different demon though as abaddon doesn't recognise it. It seems to have killed the species guiding light, curious light and mischievous light are part of, with the 3 being the last ones left. Seems to have a hate for the lights, who seem to be angels but not the same angels we know. Its extremely intelligent and can also interact with ghosts. It seems to be able to interact with shayna and, unlike a few, seems to be aware that it can.
Jeff: a shadowed entity with 2 tentacles for arms and white eyes. It lives in the basement if the hotel where it runs it's shop. It has nick nacks, items and even stolen property sally has given him. If someone wants these things hey must pay for them with money, even if the item they want is their stolen item. He hates thieves and punishes anyone who steals from him. He's friends with el goblino and can interact with shayna.
El goblino: a small, child sized, red goblin with a pointy nose and yellow eyes. He wears a gold earing, black arm bands and brown shorts. He seems to be Spanish and does confirm he's from Spain, which explains his Spanish accent. He seems to know every entity in the mines, outdoors and hotel and gives advice on them. He also has a other friend, bib, but seems unaware that Bob is just a skellington. He can interact with shayna.
Bob: (Bob the skellyfriend) is a skellington....thats it. Bob is a skellington who seemingly died by rush. He wears a blue cap but other than that he's just a skellington who sits at a table with el goblino.
Weirdo: Weirdo appears as an all-black, lanky humanoid figure with long arms and legs. The entity jumpscare people and ghosts when they open doors like jack, except it doesn't stop them from entering the room/closet it just scares them.
The outdoors: the back of the hotel no one goes to, even though its not hidden and not at all banned. The entities here were always here but due to no one going into the backyard the ghost and people genuinely never knew they existed. The entities are:
Surge: a face made if lightning. It has 2 giant squiggly eyes and a giat squiggly mouth. It appears when lighting strikes and can only attack someone who's un the open sky, so anyone hiding or even under something is fine (unless that thing is an umbrella). Basically acts like rush but with the whole cant attack anyone under something quirk.
The world lotus: a giant pink lotus who lives in the woods. It is intelligent and seemingly tries to copy hotel creatures with a few differences. The lotus itself is not hostile but its creatures it made are. Wether or not it means to harm people or is just copying is unknown. It seems to have a personal vendetta against the groundskeeper and grampy.
Living Lotus: small lotus flowers with he ability to bring back te near dead to life. It did this with the groundskeeper. Basically a natural revive machine. They can interact with Shayna. They can't bring ghosts back to life though.
Bramble: a tall monster with a lightpole for a head. Its body is made up if vibes and it seems to have been made by the world lotus. It's sort if like figure, but different. When its light is off, people can move and it ignores them, but whem the light is on it will attack anyone who moves. This creature resides in a hedge maze though and so anyone who escapes is unburdened by the brambles rules.
Mandrakes: a large, head sized turnip with a mouth and white eys and vines for tentacles. It seems to be a copy of screeches, though it's mechanic is more like a giggle. They live underground and when someone gets close, pop out and latch onto their face, screaming, or more better put as crying, until either put back into the ground or attacked by the groundskeeper. Seemingly made by the world lotus.
The groundskeeper: The Groundskeeper appears as a humanoid wearing a black straw hat and scarf, brown overalls over a gray t-shirt, a gray belt with a keychain on the back of it, black gloves, and a pair of black boots. His head is dirty and gray. His arms are bones and covered in vines that act like muscles. The Groundskeeper has two glowing yellow eyes, with one of them squished and possibly hollow in the center. He carries a hollow metal scythe with a wooden handle. He keeps the outdoors tidy, hence why its not messy, he hates anyone who stands on the grass. Other than that he's nice and will help but he doesnt go inside. He is the father (or at least a father figure) of sally. He got his arms ripped of during a fight woth the world lotus but got revived by a living Lotus.
Grampy: Grampy is a humanoid entity with two glowing purple eyes and black skin. Grampy wears a black cowboy hat with a black stripe. It is always seen sucking on Bugleweed. Grampy sits in a rocking chair and rocks back and forth. They'll talk to players if they interact with them, giving them a certain amount of dialogue options before ending the conversation. He may be the father of the groundskeeper and grampa of Sally. He calls the groundskeeper sonny (wether or not 'sonny' is the groundskeepers actual name or just a nickname is unclear) and sally 'princess'.
Caws: Their appearance is similar to Pied Crows with dark gray plumage/feathers and a white underbelly. The have eyes similar to Louie's. Caws are friendly entities. Although at first Caws may seem just as an environmental entity with no impact on life (which for the most part they don't), they have two secret functionalities. For one, they will tend to perch near Lotus Petals and Iron Keys, acting as an indicator for when one is present. Additionally, upon feeding one bread they will boost the spawn rate of Lotus Petals and Iron Keys.
Snares: Snare is a greenish-brown grassy entity with holes hiding retractable spike-like growths. While dormant, it looks akin to a circular dirt patch on the ground. When stepped on by a person, it releases its large white spikes to impale their foot which basically traps them for a short while.
Monument: Monuments initially appear as gray concrete obelisks. They are full of red flesh on the inside, and so are their bases. Whenever active, Monuments extend their four red fleshy pointy legs from the bottom of their bodies. Each leg has a concrete plate on its outer-facing side. It sits on top of its base. Once unobserved, it dismounts from its base, stands up, and begins walking towards the nearest person. The Monument moves faster the longer that no one's looking at it. Whenever observed again, it quickly retracts its legs and stands still until no one's looking at it. Then, it stands up again and resumes moving. Upon reaching a person, the Monument stabs them before dragging them under itself and attacking them. This can not be stopped, even if other people are watching the Monument. Monuments produce audible breathing that person can hear by standing next to one. While moving, Monuments produce audible footsteps. Monuments can not attack people in toolsheds, but they can walk up to one. Monuments return to their stands (or any nearby broken ones) upon talking to Grampy, or entering The Hedge Maze. Looking at a Monument through a window does not count as observing it.
The mines: a long tunnel system deeeeeeep under the hotel made by old miners (who surprisingly didn't die down there) a long time ago. The only way into the mines is the elevator in the basement. The entities down there are:
Giggles: medium sized pinkish balls with 4 tentacles and a wide open grin with 8 crimson eyes. They love to hide on the celling on the mines, giggling away. If someone walks underneath them, they drop down and latch onto their face. Luckily they can be blinded by bright lights like a flashlight in their face or throwing a glowstich at them. Screeches are giggles who have been infected by seek.
Grumble nest: this isn't an entity but a large maze like tunnel system in the mines where the grumbles and giggles reside. Giggles do tend to wander outside the nest, grumbles do not. The uneven tunnels are made by the grumbles.
Grumbles: Grumbles are giant, beige-colored creatures, being larger, more matured versions of Giggle. They have 8 tentacles, a giant smiling mouth full of teeth, a tongue, small lips, two purplish-pink eyes with 9 smaller eyes above and below them with the same color and two lines above the mouth, supposedly being a nose. They reside in the grumble nest and tunnel around. There are 5 grumbles. They protect the giggles (or try to) and attack anyone who DARES enter the nest. They can be blinded by lights though.
Queen grumble: The Queen Grumble is the queen of the Grumbles, being a matured Giggle; a giant, beige-colored creature with 8 tentacles, a smiling mouth with 20 white teeth, a tongue, small pink lips, two large pink eyes with several smaller eyes above and below them, and two lines above its mouth that resemble a nose. It is slightly larger and pinker than the standard Grumbles and has a large darkish-pink scar on its forehead, which is how other Grumbles can tell it is the queen. She got the scar from a fight with seek. She is very protective of her grumbles and giggles.
Gloombats: Gloombats are a mix between a bat and a moth. They can have either a green, yellow, cyan, red, pink, white, blue, purple and orange body, 6 small legs, and 2 big, body color-dependent glowing eyes; a mouth with sharp teeth and 2 fangs on the edges, a moth-like body with 2 antennae with multiple smaller antennae coming out like a leaf of some sort and 4 wings. they are usually in a group of five or more and fly around the area. They hate lights, and will viciously swarm around them to try and disable or break them as soon as possible. As such, most rooms that they spawn in will be dark. If anyone uses any type of light source (excluding Glowsticks and Laser Pointers) near them, they will attack the person until the light source is gone or the user dies. There are a few ways to get rid of the Gloombats, such as: Waiting for a door to be illuminated by Moonlight; since the blue light they emit usually makes them go away or Try to make them backtrack into a room with Figure for it to eat them.
Louie: Louie appears to be a rat-like creature with the nose of a star-nosed mole. Louie always resides in small tunnel-like holes found within The Mines. People can drop any item near it except for Batteries, Bandages, Candy, Aloes, Knockback Sticks. Shortly after, it will come out of said hole, look at the person, grab the item and retreat. In return, he can give the player a random item that is from the same value or higher than the item the person gave.
The archives: a large office area w8th diffrent sectors, the start is sector A and the end is sector Z (well and honcho's office being the actual end of the archives). The entities in there are:
Drones: Drones take forms of shadowy-like humanoid figures in completely black and chalky silhouettes, varying in either a masculine, feminine, or neutral form, and are mostly seen idling in a casual stance, animated with two frames or more. They emit a circular soft shadow beneath them. Multiple drones with the same appearances can appear in the same room. Their faces are made up of colorful sticky notes that may have crudely drawn facial features, either eyes, a nose, and/or a mouth arranged to represent their face, with some of the sticky notes being blank. Some of them may have less sticky notes only covering fewer features, while some may have a cluster amount with a complete set of features or at an excessive amount such as an additional eye. The drawings on the sticky notes also vary in different styles, with one of the eye on one of them being the same eye from another entity in The Archives, though it is unknown if they are connected or simply foreshadowing one another. Drones spawn in random positions in rooms and occassionally vanish and reappear in a new spot. When a person pushes a Drone too far, they will knock the player over and laugh in their face. When the clocks located on walls strike 5:00 or 9:00, a distinctive chime can be heard from the speakers. This is very quickly followed by a horde of Drones that rush through the centre corridor of the room. If a person is caught by the hoarde, they get trampled but not killed due to the drones being 2D, A stampede occurring will also alter the lighting, and can either make it a dim purple or foggy. Spawn chances for Drones in a room increases when there is a "pizza party" or "come grab a slice of pizza" event in a sector.
Forget-me-not's: They appear as clusters of blue vines that entirely cover and block the doorway, featuring light blue flowers with yellowish eyeballs with a larger, main one in the center of the door. A blue vegetation similar to grass or thorns is noticeably on the floor in front of them. Its flowers can also emerge from walls or ceiling around the door it is covering, which can grow and shrink. Forget-Me-Not can appear in any sector from Sector B onwards. It cannot appear in Sector A. Forget-Me-Not is an entity that has a mini-game similar to that of Exit-8, where the player must memorize a completely normal room, then traverse through multiple rooms while checking if anything in them has changed or not. When Forget-Me-Not spawns, the room before its actual room will always be a small room with two escalators, the left one moving down to the next numbered door, and the right moving upwards. When the player enters Forget-Me-Not's actual room, it will resemble a metro station. Forget-Me-Not will be blocking the way through the next door. To pass through, you will need to look at 6 of Forget-Me-Not's little flowers that are scattered through the room. Once done, the big flower on the door that Forget-Me-Not is blocking will disappear. Before entering the next room, all people should take a good minute or two to memorize the room. While every person is in this room, the clock will not tick down, even if no one is looking at one. When a person interacts with Forget-Me-Not, they will push through them as if they were going through very thick tall grass, and end up inside Forget-Me-Not's mini-game. Each player has their own space inside Forget-Me-Not, and each person's space will almost never be the same as another players space, so never listen to your friends when they say what is different on their side, because it will seldom be true on yours (the anomalies are client-sided). Each person must look around the room and try to spot any differences from the room they are in. If something is different from the real room, the person should backtrack. If nothing has changed, the player should move forth. If the person tries to go back when nothing changed, or go forth when something has changed, Forget-Me-Not will use its flowers to bite the person. The total number of rooms you need to go through is not known, but assumed to be between 3-4. When inside Forget-Me-Not, the clock continues to tick down, but the horde of drones does not pass through the metro station and does not hurt anyone.
Ransom: Ransom's main initial appearance is a pixelated, monochromatic face that is heavily distorted. Its eyes are fully black, and it appears to be looking slightly upwards. However it can contort its face to a gaping, horrifying face straightforward at the player when attacking. Its other notable appearance is a red, octagonal stop sign with a similar style to it, being pixelated and static. When it appears, it seemingly appears vision sort of like computer pop up but in the persons vision. Only the person it's attacking can see it. If a person moves during this, it will take their items and will want 500 money (pounds, dollars, gold) in 1 minute, 50 seconds. Money will appear hidden and only the person being attacked will see it. If they get enough money in time, they get their items back. If not, ransom will attack them. If ransom is attacking and ther person doesnt move, ransom will not confiscate their items and will not excpet 500 money in 1.50 minutes.
The teller: These entities appear to be a humanoid with its head being a TV monitor. On the top of its head are electrical plugs connected by wires hanging down, in a way that resembles hair. They wear a dark trenchcoat, and their right hands being a ticket puncher It appears to have a base with casters in place of its legs, possibly similar to an office chair. They appear completely stationary and idle in front of a door. Its head displays a number with the text "Now serving" above it. The Tellers will always spawn in a unique room with a long, snaking but empty queue line. The Tellers will be standing at the next door in this room, blocking the way through. When the person first enters this room, the Teller powers up. When a person walks up to The Tellers, it will print a ticket in their mouth, take it out, and hold it out to the player. The person must take this ticket. If multiple people are present, Teller will print out each players respective ticket one at a time. Each ticket printed will always be a higher number then the last. Once every person has a ticket, The Tellers will move out of the way and stand next to the door. Every time a new numbered door is opened, The Tellers will move through it and go stand next to the next numbered door, then increase a number on it's screen. Every roof or wall monitor will also show the number that The Tellers has. Once The Tellers reach a number that any person has on their ticket, it will block the following door. The Teller's screen will then start to fill with a red color over the course of 7 seconds. The person with the same number ticket as Tellers' number must hand over their ticket to the Tellers. If the ticket is not handed over by the time their screens are fully red, The Tellers will chase the person. The person can hide in a closet to avoid The Tellers if The Tellers are in chasing mode. If the person is in a closet, The Tellers will walk up to the closet, take the player's ticket, and power off without harming to the person. The per can dodge the The Tellers in chasing mode eventually allowing the door to open. However, the tellers eventually will catch up no matter what and it will be faster. Multiple Tellers can be in a sector but not when there's an active teller. If a person gives their ticket to the teller in time, the teller moves out the way and powers down.
Bash: the entity is presented in an overwhelming crimson hue, matching the description of a "more red" face. The key features are intense and dramatic: eyes that burn with blinding, fiery energy, dynamic and complex fire effects, and a wide maw filled with glowing teeth. The facial structure is defined, but the color saturation is extremely high, dominating the scene. Bash's behavior is similar to Rush's behavior, but has several key differences. Before the entity's appearance, a distant roaring noise can be heard that grows louder as the entity nears the room the person is in. Upon its arrival from previous rooms, Bash rushes through the main corridor of the rooms, The entity is also significantly fast, going almost double the speed of Rush. While the entity is present, person will need to find a safe space to hide in. This includes lockers, within the walls of enclosed desks, or in separate side rooms. However, if they fail to do so, Bash sets them of fire, slightly on their clothes and, if left long enough or in a closer vicinity, can grow bigger. This fire doesnt last long though but does hurt but not kill, in the process. If a person is standing on either carpet or grass (botanical sections), Bash can still do fire damage even if they are not in his direct line of sight. It's fire can't kill due to how fast it goes out.
Scribbles: They appear to be made from a cluster or sheets of papers. In addition to this, several papers with eyes or faces scribbled on them have been seen scattered around in parts of The Archives. These are likely indicators of the entity(ies), and are possibly parts of it or them, or are just simply papers that were drawn by the entity(ies). It is unknown what sector this entity starts to appear at, but the earliest recorded is at Sector B. Scribbles will spawn after opening a door that leads to a special room. This room is always covered in papers that Scribbles has drawn on. After opening the door, the room will begin to shake for a couple seconds before Scribbles comes from the front doorways. While Scribbles passes by, it will fling papers across the entire room. If a person is in its line of sight, paper will be flung at a fast rate, attacking them most likely from paper cuts. However, Scribbles papers only have a limited range. So, if you get a long-long-long hallway you can dodge Scribbles by going down far into the hallway. Standing behind a wall, large enough pillar, or hiding in a closet are all viable options to avoiding this entity. It also seems to love drawing. Alot. It's unkown if Scribbles made the drones or just drew the faces on the sicky notes drones use as faces but either way they seem to be related.
Alma: Alma presents as a dark humanoid figure that appears to resemble a girl. She is entirely in grayscale and surrounded by black shadows. She has pale skin, black hair, and is covering her eyes with her hands. When attacking a person, Alma uncovers her eyes and seems to be crying. Her arms stretch out towards you and her mouth opens, emitting a high pitched screaming noise. Alma lives at the beginning of Sector J in The Archives. Alma's room is very dark. People walk into the room onto a small upper level that wraps around half the room. Alma can be seen sitting in the center of the room, surrounded by what seem to be dead Drones, under a single light. When anyone walks down the stairs and onto the floor that Alma is on, Alma will look at the person, before disappearing. Alma will almost always spawn at least once per sector. She can spawn at anytime during the sector as well. When Alma spawns, she will be out of view from the person. Crying sounds can be heard from Alma while she is active. Alma will circle around the person in an attempt to be seen by the person. A good way to avoid looking at her is by looking down at the floor and turning away from Alma when she tries to move into focus. If anyone looks at Alma for more than a second, she will become enraged. If the person can avoid looking at Alma for long enough, she will eventually fade away. When Alma becomes enraged, it will become aggressive and attempt to dash at the person, doing this about 3-5 times before disappearing. If she does catch the person, the person must resist the strong urge to look at Alma's face. If they do, she will attack them. Luckily this can't kill them but might leave them with a headache.
Portrait: Under its disguise in the mirror, it looks exactly the same as the person looking in the bathroom mirror. Portrait's true appearance is a gray simpler version of the person who looked at the mirror for too long, with concrete-like texture. Its eyes are two simple black dots and has a nose protruding out of its face. Portrait permeates in the mirrors throughout The Archives's bathrooms. In this form, it looks identical to the person and will mimic their behavior, including: moving around, holding items, looking around, etc., giving the illusion of a normal mirror. However, when the person stares at the mirror for around 20 seconds, the mirror will begin to crack, revealing its true appearance. After, Portrait will completely disappear from that mirror and the crack will disappear. From this point onward, Portrait will follow the person in the real world outside the mirrors under its true look and copy the persons' actions. When it holds an item, that item will also have the Marble Material applied on it. In this state, it is completely harmless, even if the person decides to walk into it or try to interact with it in any ways. It has a chance to disappear if it escapes the person's view. If you are holding a Crucifix, Portrait will stare at it constantly and will try to move away whenever you try to interact with him while holding the Crucifix. This might imply that Portrait is smart enough to know what it does. Unlike most of the archive entities, portrait can also break free in the hotel and mines, with the exception being the stairwell due to a lack of mirrors.
Fih: fih a small plastic living fish toys found in fish tanks in the archaives. They either come in green, blue or red. They act like normal fish, thoigg are made of plastic. Fih don't seem all that important but can be fed fih food in which they will give a person an item.
Honcho: Honcho appears as a flat humanoid entity seemingly made of paper wearing a light blue casual outfit with a white collar and sleeves seemingly rolled up, a blue tie, dark blue pants held up by brown straps, and brown shoes. It also has visible staples on its arms, likely resembling cartoonish arm hair. The limbs and torso can also bend and lightly fold in defining angles and are able to express flexible movements. Its legs are notably either folded horizontally inward, or have a piece attached behind it by the middle, likely for the entity to keep balance. It also has black 'tattoos' in his arms, resembling many Starlight symbols. Its most prominent feature is its face and/or head, being a distinctive black square with choppy edges, giving it a foggy-like appearance, mainly resembling the redaction bars seen in documents. This could be covering its actual face and/or head, or that it is its head and is actually otherwise a physical manifestation of redaction, suggesting Honcho's role akin to reviewing and redacting documents. According to its logs, Honcho is 213 years old. It hates The Archives and is desperate to leave but can't. It also seemingly has an obsession with Starlight, most likely believing it can take him out of the subfloor due to the Architect being present in every single floor, judging by the Starlight symbols on his arm. Despite being tired and hateful of the archives in private, in public poncho acts friendly and welcoming, normally, and hates slackers. Honcho can't write well, normally referring to himslef as "me", "i" or "honcho" and writes in simple sentences. Despite writing simply, honcho speaks very well in all languages. He seems to be the boss of the archives. His face melted after he drank too much coffee, but wether or not the Black bars are his face after they melted or are just covering his face or have replaced his face is unknown.
The 3 angels: 3 angels from the extinct species of angels killed by seek. The 3 angels are. They can also possess the living, in which the possesed will basically be ejected out their body. The ejected person will take the form of a more simpler, legless floating spirit that only the angels, possesed and ghosts (and shayna) can see. An easy way to see if someone is possessed is their eyes will take the foem of either 2 blue moons, 2 yellow stars or 2 red swirls, ir they will have a necklace around their neck of either a blue moon, yellow star ir red swirl. The 3 angels are:
Guiding light: her real name is actually moonlight. Her true form is a human like female blue figure and sometimes has angel wings and a blue moon halo. She is extremely kind and very helpful and knows alot about the entities. When she is partially hidden, she takes the form of a small blue moon with blue particles. She will highlight hidden items or doors if someone need to find it.
Curious light: her true name is starlight. In her ture form, she takes the form of a female yellow figure and sometimes has angel wings with yellow star halo. She is not as helpful as guiding light and is sometimes sarcastic but can be helpful by illuminating lights, items and doors. When partially hidden, she takes the form of a small yellow star with yellow particles.
Mischievous light: she refuses to say her true name but it might be swirlinglight. In her true form she takes the form of a female humanoid figure and sometimes has angel wings and a red swirl halo. She is the ine who accidentally allowed the entities to gain access to the hotel when making a spell to stop seek from finding her and her last 2 brethren. Both her and seek emit a red light though its unknown if this is related and she refuses to tell. In her partially hidden form she takes the form of a small red swirl with red particles.
Glitch: Glitch is a distinct black-colored humanoid similar to Seek, with multiple purple cubes and protrusions sticking out of its body, with black scan-line textures. It passively emits an aura of pixelated and colored squares around its body and they emit a bright pink-purple light around them. Its real name is Self and it seems to be related to the 3 angels but it's unknown how. Its very powerful and nearly rivals seek but seek is still more powerful.
The crucifix: a wooden crucifix powered by the angels. Depending on which angel it belongs to, it will have either a moon, star or swirl carved into it. When used on entities, it will "banish" them (but not forever as they will come back). He entities it can't banish are: any outdoors/backyard entities minus surge, seek, figure, grumbles (including the queen and giggles) Jeff, el goblino, Bob, the angels, glitch, louie, Sally, honcho, ransom, teller, Fih.
The journal: a leather back journal in the undervales library that is filled with notes and character pages of every entity.

Nathan: good! That means more family time. We can play a board game, we'll you can I'll just watch.
Ben: hey, did anyone feel a shake last night. Like a BOOM!!
Abaddon: yes, i felt the shaking if the hotel aswell.
Esther: probably an earthquake. It's natural. It's nothing.
