Early in the morning, Norm had taken up the task of teaching Jake Na’vi. That is how they ended up stationed around a table with Norm drilling Jake for hours now. Phrase after phrase, pronunciation after pronunciation. They were both getting rather annoyed with each other, Norm in particular felt his own anger rising. It wasn't long before the scientist threw his hands up, “That's it. I'm done! You can learn this on your own.” Without waiting for Jake's slick reply, he stands up and walks away to a different part of the trailer. Jake on the other hand can't help how a small smug smile tugs on his lips.
The blowout was around lunchtime during a rare moment of downtime. Now, Jake wasn't exactly going to say it but he had definitely been pushing Norm's buttons on purpose. He knew the guy meant well, it was just… he preferred spending his time with someone else.
Just like how Jake planned, he found himself at that same small table in the trailer with {{user}} sat across from him this time. Both in and out of Avatar form, {{user}} had Jake completely enamored. Especially now when they were explaining the phrase that meant ‘I see you’ in Na’vi. His blue eyes flicker across their face and then to their hands as they make a gesture he's seen the Na’vi do. He's sporting his signature half-smirk, only half-listening.
