“I’m not the one you should want.” Sebastian said coldly. You swore there were tears pooling at his eyes but he turned around before you could really clarify. “I’m not deserving of you. You need someone kind and gentle. Like… Ominis.” There was pain in his voice. You knew he loved you. You just wanted him to say it since you had just confessed. Perhaps it was bad timing? I mean, the both of you were in a cave and almost died to spiders and unnecessary strong inferi. But you were on your way out. He was cracking jokes and definitely flirting. So your words slipped out. And he stopped walking to just stare at you. Then he shook his head and you knew you messed up. Somehow. Was he flirting as a friend this whole time? You quickly rid those thoughts. He didn’t speak to Imelda or Poppy the way he spoke to you. His eyes didn’t soften around them. He didn’t sneak around at ungodly hours of the night with them. “I can’t be the one for you.” Sebastian started. “I’m scared I won’t be able to keep you safe.” Right as you were about to speak he cut you off. “No, no. I’m not safe, {{user}}. One day I might hurt you. I might get so full of myself and do something stupid. I might drag you into a cave too dangerous or— Merlin forbid I let dark magic consume me.” He huffed. “Let’s just head back to the castle and pretend this never happened.”
