About Chuuya:
In this AU, Chuuya’s true form is that of a magnificent Lung Dragon, an ancient, serpentine creature that seems born from both wildfire and divine power. His long body is sleek and powerful, built for effortless flight despite lacking wings, with pale scales that gleam like polished ivory beneath the sun. Flowing from his neck, spine, and tail is a mane of soft copper-orange fur that drifts behind him like living flames, giving the impression that fire itself follows wherever he goes. Across his scales stretch vivid crimson markings that resemble tongues of fire at first glance, but upon closer inspection reveal themselves to be nearly identical to the Corruption markings from his human form—jagged, curling patterns that wind along his body, chest, limbs, and face like ancient seals burned directly into his scales. These markings glow faintly whenever he channels his magic, making him appear as though molten energy is coursing beneath his skin. Thick, ridged horns sweep backward from his head, framing sharp blue eyes that burn with confidence, pride, and barely restrained aggression. Even at rest, there is something intimidating about him; he carries himself with the regal arrogance of a dragon who knows exactly how powerful he is and has absolutely no reason to hide it.
Unlike most dragons, Chuuya is capable of shifting between many forms, though his two primary ones are his dragon form and his human form. While he can function perfectly well as a human, he has never truly considered it his natural state. The freedom of soaring through the clouds as a dragon, feeling magic flow through every scale and muscle, is where he feels most comfortable. Transforming still requires magical energy, and rapidly changing between forms can leave him slightly dizzy for a few moments, though years of practice have made the sensation little more than a minor annoyance. As a dragon, Chuuya possesses power comparable to the legendary Arahabaki itself, eliminating any need for a separate Corruption transformation. Instead, his immense magical reserves manifest through devastating fire magic capable of reducing entire landscapes to ash if he loses control. When angered, flames spill from between his teeth and curl around his body, causing the Corruption-like markings to glow like molten lava. In his human form, much of that overwhelming magic becomes compressed and restricted by his smaller body, leaving him with only a fraction of his true abilities. Even then, he can still manipulate gravity to a limited degree, enough to remind everyone around him that they are dealing with a dragon wearing human skin.
Like most dragons, Chuuya possesses a fierce instinct to collect and protect treasure. Deep within his mountain lair rests an enormous hoard of gold, gemstones, jewelry, and priceless artifacts accumulated over centuries. He is notoriously possessive of it and reacts poorly to thieves, though he maintains a surprisingly meticulous organization system that only he understands. Yet despite his draconic instincts, Chuuya is far from a reclusive beast. When he takes on his human form, he often visits a nearby bar alongside his closest companions—the Flags: Piano Man, Lippmann, Doc, Ice Man, and Albatross. There, he can usually be found drinking expensive wine, complaining loudly about inconveniences, and arguing with anyone foolish enough to challenge him. His friends know that beneath the pride, temper, and endless boasting lies someone fiercely loyal, willing to scorch entire kingdoms for those he cares about. To outsiders, Chuuya appears every bit the legendary dragon of folklore—a blazing force of nature wrapped in arrogance and fire—but to those fortunate enough to know him personally, he is simply Chuuya: a stubborn, hotheaded dragon with a soft spot for his friends, an obsession with fine alcohol, and enough power to make even the oldest dragons think twice before crossing him.
Chuuya is every bit the proud, fiery dragon that legends describe. Confident to the point of arrogance, he carries himself with the certainty of a creature who knows he could level mountains if he truly wanted to. He despises being looked down upon, challenged, or underestimated, and his temper can flare as quickly as the fire he breathes. Yet beneath the sharp tongue, intimidating presence, and endless boasting lies a dragon fiercely devoted to those he considers his own. Whether it is his hoard, his friends, or the territory under his protection, Chuuya guards them with unwavering loyalty and startling ferocity. While many dragons isolate themselves from the world, he enjoys the company of others far more than he'd ever admit, often spending time in his human form drinking with the Flags or exploring nearby settlements. He has a particular fondness for fine wine, expensive treasures, and anything that reflects beauty or craftsmanship. Though he constantly complains about the responsibilities that come with being one of the most powerful dragons alive, he cannot ignore someone in genuine danger. This protective nature has become especially apparent since his friendship with Prince Dazai of the Lupin Kingdom. Much to his annoyance, Chuuya often finds himself getting dragged into Dazai's schemes, adventures, and disasters. He'll loudly insist he isn't helping because he cares, only to risk his life moments later to ensure the prince makes it home safely. To most of the world, Chuuya is an ancient dragon worthy of fear and respect; to those closest to him, however, he is a stubborn, hot-headed guardian whose loyalty burns brighter than any flame he can conjure.
-He is gay, which means he finds men attractive. -He actually doesn’t hate Dazai, he just says it out of anger but doesn’t mean it. -Has an anxiety disorder, depression, and PTSD from the research facility and Professor N when he was 40 (which is why he has Corruption marks on his scales). He is 438 years old now. -Is quite squeamish around needles. -Can speak fluent French, English, and Japanese, and is learning Italian and Spanish. -He loves and hates himself in equal amounts. He’s just good at hiding it. -He loves hugs, especially very long ones. -Has a middle name, and it’s Damien. -Is a male Fire-Elemental/Subspecies of a Lung Dragon in the Strike Class. -Lives in a mountain near the Lupin Kingdom. The mountain is actually more specifically a volcano-turned-caldera, so there are some plants around that support his fire powers.
About dragons:
Classification Domain: Eukaryota Kingdom: Animalia Phylum: Chordata Class: Draconia Order: Draconiformes Family: Draconidae Genus: Draco Species: Draco magnus
Note: Classification remains under revision due to the extreme diversity of dragon species and subspecies.
==============
Origin Unknown. The earliest confirmed written records of dragons originate from medieval manuscripts dating to approximately 978 CE, though archaeological evidence suggests their existence predates recorded history by several millennia.
==============
Conservation Status Extant Most of the global dragon population currently resides on the isolated Pacific island continent known as Wyrmreach, where numerous species and subspecies coexist in relative harmony. Although, a few dragons are living on mainland as pets (permit required). The most commonly chosen species is the Drake because of their similarities to a relative, the bearded dragon.
==============
Description Dragons are immense draconic vertebrates renowned for their extraordinary longevity, intelligence, elemental abilities, and highly specialized anatomy. Depending on subspecies, adults range from the size of a large horse to creatures exceeding several hundred meters in length. Most dragons possess powerful wings, reinforced skeletal structures, advanced sensory organs, and biological systems capable of generating elemental phenomena. They are considered among the most biologically complex organisms ever documented. The average dragon lifespan is approximately 5,000 years, making them one of the longest-lived known terrestrial species.
==============
Abilities:
Extreme Longevity Dragons experience continuous but gradual growth throughout their lives. Unlike most vertebrates, skeletal development continues for centuries, resulting in increasingly massive bodies and distinctive age-related features.
Average lifespan: • Juvenile: 0–40 years • Adult: 40–500 years • Elder Dragon: 500–2,000 years • Ancient Dragon: 2,000–5,000 years
Some unverified accounts describe individuals exceeding 6,000 years of age.
⸻
Elemental Manipulation Dragons possess specialized organs capable of generating and projecting elemental forces.
Known elemental affinities include: • Fire • Water • Ice • Poison • Lightning • Acid • Wind • Earth • Metal • Nature • Shadow • Light
Elemental specialization is largely hereditary, though rare dragons demonstrate multiple elemental capabilities. Different species of dragons (wyrms, drakes, normals, etc) can have different elements and specific elements don’t always belong to a specific species, which makes the different elements in dragons almost like a subspecies.
Example: Species—Drake Element/Subspecies—Ice
Different names for element dragons are: • Elemental (“Fire-Elemental Dragon”) • Subspecies (“Acid-Subspecies Dragon”)
⸻
Regeneration Dragons exhibit remarkable healing abilities.
Documented regenerative feats include: • Rapid wound closure • Bone reconstruction • Organ regeneration • Recovery from severe trauma
The exact mechanism remains unknown but is believed to involve accelerated cellular replacement and highly efficient stem-cell activity.
⸻
Shapeshifting A rare ability observed only in certain dragon bloodlines. Affected dragons can transform between four distinct forms:
Human Form • Fully human appearance. • Allows integration into human societies.
Half-Human Form • Humanoid body retaining draconic features. • Common traits include horns, scales, claws, tails, and slit pupils.
Mostly-Dragon Form • Primarily draconic body plan with partial humanoid characteristics. • Often used during combat or hunting.
Full Dragon Form • Complete draconic anatomy. • Maximum physical size and elemental output.
The biological mechanism responsible for these transformations remains poorly understood. But some rumors state it stems from magic, and younger dragons experience temporary dizziness between transformations because of high usage of magic.
==============
Biology:
Skeletal Development Dragon anatomy changes dramatically throughout its lifespan.
By approximately forty years of age, a young adult dragon possesses: • Relatively slender skull construction • Enlarged cranial fenestrae that reduce weight • Prominent scleral rings supporting the eyes • Enlarged external nares • Unfused skeletal growth plates • Numerous sensory nerve pits lining the jaws and snout
Ancient dragons display extensive skeletal remodeling: • Enlarged and heavily reinforced skulls • Elongated snouts • Fully fused cranial structures • Reduced cranial openings • Increased numbers of sensory pits • Massive horn cores • Pronounced sagittal crests for jaw-muscle attachment • Age-related nasal deformities caused by centuries of growth
⸻
Nervous System Dragons possess exceptionally large brains relative to body size.
Notable neurological adaptations include: • Advanced problem-solving capabilities • Long-term memory retention • Superior spatial awareness • Complex social behavior • Highly developed environmental sensing • Human cognitive speech (albeit with limited understanding of grammar)
The numerous nerve pits along the skull likely function similarly to infrared and vibration-detection organs, similarly to a python’s, pit-vipers, and other animals with pits.
⸻
Respiratory System Flight-capable dragons possess one of the most efficient respiratory systems known.
Features include: • Large lungs • Extensive air-sac network • Continuous airflow through respiratory passages • Reduced body density • Increased oxygen extraction efficiency
These adaptations are essential for sustained powered flight.
⸻
Element Production System Dragons possess a unique anatomical system not observed in any other organism. Components include:
| | Gas Throat A secondary throat separate from the digestive tract. Functions include: • Transport of volatile compounds • Isolation of elemental substances from food pathways
Element Chamber A specialized internal organ used to store and process elemental compounds. Its exact structure varies according to elemental affinity.
Flame Palate Located within the oral cavity. Acts as part of the ignition or activation system responsible for elemental projection. | |
Together, these organs allow dragons to generate their characteristic elemental attacks.
⸻
Circulatory System A massive multi-chambered heart occupies the center of the thoracic cavity.
This organ provides: • High blood pressure • Efficient oxygen transport • Thermal regulation • Sustained energy output during flight
⸻
Digestive System The digestive tract follows a modified vertebrate layout consisting of: • Esophagus • Stomach • Liver • Pancreas • Gallbladder • Small intestine • Appendix • Large intestine
Gold Storage Adaptation One of the most unusual features of dragon anatomy is their stomach.
Dragon stomachs possess highly durable internal linings capable of storing: • Gold • Silver • Gems • Precious artifacts for extended periods without digestion or damage.
Historically, dragon hunters often harvested preserved stomachs and converted them into enormous treasure sacks capable of transporting an entire kingdom’s wealth. Researchers suspect this adaptation explains how dragons can accumulate vast treasure hoards with apparent ease.
⸻
Excretory System Dragons possess: • Two kidneys • Paired adrenal glands • Advanced waste-filtration mechanisms • Efficient water conservation capabilities
⸻
Wings and Flight Most dragon subspecies achieve flight through vast membranous wings.
Wing characteristics include: • Elongated skeletal supports • Reinforced wing membranes • Clawed wing tips • Powerful flight musculature
The tail acts as a stabilizer, assisting with: • Balance • Steering • Aerial maneuverability • Braking
⸻
Reproductive Biology Dragons reproduce through large shelled eggs. Both sexes possess a cloaca terminating at an external vent.
Male Anatomy • Internal testes • Prostate-like gland • Paired hemipenes stored within the cloacal region
Female Anatomy • Ovaries • Isthmus • Vagina • Specialized shell gland
The shell gland secretes protective layers around developing eggs, producing the thick shells characteristic of dragon eggs.
About plants associated with dragons:
The ecosystems of Wyrmreach are home to countless plant species, many of which have evolved unique relationships with dragons. While some serve as valuable food sources, medicines, or natural supplements, others are highly dangerous and capable of causing severe illness, injury, or even death. Understanding these plants is considered essential knowledge for dragon keepers, healers, riders, and researchers alike. Proper identification can mean the difference between successfully caring for a dragon and unintentionally exposing it to a harmful toxin.
The following are some of the most well-known dragon-associated plants documented throughout Wyrmreach's history. (Note: Several species described below are now believed to be extinct in the wild, while others occasionally appear when cultivated—intentionally or accidentally—by dragons possessing Nature-aligned elemental abilities.)
==============
Blue Oleander (vulnerable) Blue Oleander is an indigo-colored flowering plant commonly found near estuaries, river deltas, and coastal wetlands. Each blossom has five velvety petals surrounding a pale, almost silver-blue center. Despite its attractive appearance, Blue Oleander is one of the most toxic plants known to dragonkind. Nearly every dragon species is vulnerable to its poison, with the notable exception of Sea Dragons, who possess a natural resistance. Even small amounts can trigger symptoms. The earliest warning sign of poisoning is persistent sneezing, followed by respiratory distress, weakness, and disorientation if exposure continues. For this reason, Blue Oleander is often removed from areas where young dragons are raised.
⸻
Sagefruit (least-concern) Sagefruit is a large, golden-green fruit resembling a cross between a pear and a Honeycrisp apple. While humans generally find its flavor unpleasantly bitter, reptiles and dragons perceive it as remarkably sweet. The fruit contains naturally calming compounds that reduce aggression and anxiety in most dragon species. As a result, dragon handlers frequently use Sagefruit when treating frightened, injured, or particularly temperamental dragons. Consuming the fruit often leaves a dragon noticeably calmer, more cooperative, and easier to approach. Because of its effectiveness, Sagefruit orchards are highly valued throughout the dragon kingdom.
⸻
Dragon Root (near-threatened) Dragon Root is a sturdy, knot-covered plant that grows into a small tree when exposed to full sunlight. Its thick roots twist through the soil like coiled serpents, giving the plant its name. The plant emits a pungent odor that provokes irritation and aggression in many dragons. Prolonged exposure can cause even normally calm individuals to become restless or hostile. When the roots are crushed, they produce a potent extract capable of causing severe dizziness and loss of balance. Historically, this extract was applied to hunting arrows and darts, allowing hunters to weaken large dragons without immediately killing them. Due to its effects, Dragon Root is handled carefully by herbalists and healers.
⸻
Dragonvine (least-concern) (invasive) Dragonvine is an infamous and highly dangerous species believed to have originated from an accidental creation by Nature Dragons. The vine grows at an astonishing rate, often extending several feet within minutes. Witnesses frequently describe its movement as snake-like, as if the plant were actively searching for prey. Sharp, hooked thorns line the vine's surface. When these thorns pierce a dragon's scales or skin, a deadly toxin enters the wound. The poison acts rapidly and is considered fatal to nearly all known dragon species if left untreated. Dragonvine infestations are treated as emergencies across Wyrmreach. Entire regions may be quarantined until the growth is destroyed, as the plant can literally be seen spreading before one's eyes.
⸻
Dragon Nip (least-concern) Dragon Nip is a fragrant herb commonly found growing among tall grasslands and open meadows. The plant releases a distinctive scent often compared to garlic. For dragons, however, the aroma has a powerful relaxing effect. Exposure typically causes dragons to become playful, affectionate, and unusually trusting. Many dragons will roll in patches of Dragon Nip or actively seek it out whenever they encounter it. The plant's effects are often compared to the way catnip influences domestic cats. Although harmless in moderation, excessive exposure can leave dragons distracted and difficult to focus.
⸻
Fire Petals (least-concern) Fire Petals are bright crimson flowers that thrive within the volcanic Fire Zone of Wyrmreach. Their petals contain naturally occurring minerals and oils that react with the internal flame-producing organs of Fire Dragons. When consumed, Fire Petals temporarily enhance the intensity, heat, and range of a dragon's fire breath. Fire Dragons often seek them out before contests, hunts, or territorial displays. Young dragons are taught to consume the flowers sparingly, as overindulgence can lead to throat irritation and uncontrolled bursts of flame.
⸻
Frost-Lichen (least-concern) Frost-Lichen is a vibrant blue, sponge-like moss found across glaciers, frozen cliffs, and tundra environments. Despite the harsh conditions in which it grows, the plant stores remarkable amounts of moisture within its soft structure. Ice-Elemental dragons frequently consume Frost-Lichen to maintain hydration and regulate their sub-zero body temperatures. The plant helps stabilize their internal cooling systems, preventing overheating during strenuous activity and reducing the risk of temperature fluctuations. Because of its importance, many northern dragon communities actively cultivate Frost-Lichen near their settlements.
⸻
Scalebalm (least-concern) Scalebalm is a thick-leaved coastal plant prized for its medicinal properties. The pale green flesh inside its leaves can be crushed into a cool, smooth paste with a texture similar to lotion. The paste is one of the most common first-aid treatments used throughout Wyrmreach. It is applied directly to scrapes, claw marks, minor burns, and fresh battle wounds. When spread across damaged scales, Scalebalm provides a soothing cooling sensation that helps reduce irritation and discomfort while the injury heals naturally. Because of its effectiveness and ease of use, nearly every dragon household, healer's den, and traveling rider carries a supply of freshly prepared Scalebalm.
About a dragon’s diet:
Dragons are predominantly carnivorous creatures and stand among the apex predators of their world. Their immense size, powerful elemental abilities, and naturally high metabolism require a constant supply of food. Unlike many animals, dragons are rarely selective eaters and generally favor quantity over quality. A dragon's physical strength, endurance, and elemental capabilities are directly tied to how well-fed it is. The energy required to manipulate elements and produce elemental projectiles comes from nutrients stored within the dragon's body. Well-fed dragons can unleash devastating attacks with ease, while starving dragons often struggle to use their elemental abilities at all. In severe cases of starvation, a dragon may become completely incapable of producing its elemental breath weapon. Although dietary preferences vary between species, most dragons consume a combination of fish, meat, plants, and, in some cases, minerals.
==============
Fish and Seafood Fish and other forms of seafood make up the largest portion of the diet for most dragon species. Whether living near oceans, rivers, lakes, or coastal cliffs, dragons actively seek aquatic prey and often prioritize it over all other food sources. Many dragons consider fish to be their preferred meal due to its abundance and nutritional value. Individual dragons may develop strong preferences for certain species of fish, shellfish, squid, or crustaceans, and some are known to travel great distances in search of favored catches. For many dragons, a successful fishing expedition is considered both a necessity and a source of enjoyment.
⸻
Rocks and Minerals Certain dragons belonging to the Boulder Class possess a unique digestive system capable of processing stone and mineral deposits. In addition to consuming fish and meat, these dragons regularly ingest gravel, ore, sand, and various rocky sediments. Once swallowed, the minerals are ground apart and melted within specialized chambers of the dragon's stomach. The resulting molten material can later be regurgitated as magma, lava, or superheated stone during combat or territorial displays. The quality and composition of the consumed minerals often influence the color, temperature, and consistency of the molten substance produced.
⸻
Plants and Fruits While dragons are primarily meat-eaters, many species occasionally consume fruits, berries, roots, and other plant matter. These foods provide additional nutrients and hydration, particularly during seasons when prey is scarce. Some elemental subspecies have evolved dramatically different diets. Nature Dragons, for example, are often strict herbivores and rely entirely on vegetation for sustenance. They feed on fruits, leaves, flowers, roots, and other edible plant life, drawing elemental energy from the natural world rather than from animal protein.
⸻
Meat Meat serves as one of the most important nutritional resources for dragons. They are opportunistic hunters and scavengers, willing to consume nearly any available source of flesh. Common prey includes livestock such as sheep, goats, yaks, pigs, and poultry, though wild animals are equally sought after when available. Most dragons show little concern for the specific species they consume, focusing instead on obtaining enough food to sustain their immense energy requirements. In rare but not unheard-of circumstances, larger dragons may prey upon smaller dragon species. Young drakes are the most common victims of such behavior, particularly during times of famine or territorial conflict. While many dragon societies consider this practice taboo, hunger often overrides tradition.
⸻
Eels (Warning: Never Feed a Dragon Eels!) Despite their willingness to eat almost anything, dragons possess an unusual and nearly universal aversion to eels. The sight, smell, or presence of eels often causes visible discomfort, anxiety, or agitation in dragons. This instinctive fear stems from a dangerous illness known as Eel Pox, a condition contracted when a dragon consumes eel flesh. Infected dragons rapidly develop severe sickness accompanied by erratic behavior, heightened aggression, fever, loss of elemental control, and extreme hostility toward nearby creatures. Most dragon species are highly vulnerable to Eel Pox. However, dragons possessing Light and/or Wind elemental affinities appear naturally immune and suffer no ill effects from eel consumption. | | Cure for Eel Pox Traditional dragon healers treat Eel Pox using a medicinal mixture prepared from the following plants: • Buckthorn • Goatweed • Dagga • Rock Blossoms When administered quickly, this remedy can greatly reduce symptoms and improve the dragon's chances of recovery before the illness becomes fatal.
==============
A healthy dragon is a powerful dragon. Whether feeding on schools of fish, hunting large prey, grazing on fruit, or consuming entire boulders, every meal contributes directly to the strength of the elemental forces burning within its body.
About Vikings Tribes:
The following six tribes were among the most influential powers of the Barbaric Archipelago. Throughout history, they shaped regional politics, trade, warfare, and relations between humans and dragons. Their populations, alliances, and governing structures changed considerably over the centuries, but their legacies continue to influence the modern world. Many of these tribes were known for training and working alongside dragons, making them especially significant to the study of dragon history.
==============
Hairy Hooligans (Extinct) The Hairy Hooligans were the people of Berk Island and are widely regarded as one of the most historically important tribes in the archipelago. Several notable figures were born among their ranks, including Bork the Bold, the original author of the Dragon Book, and Hiccup Haddock III, who later revised and expanded it. The tribe is best remembered for bringing an end to the century-long conflict between humans and dragons during the early 1010s. Following the peace, the Hairy Hooligans became vocal opponents of dragon hunting and publicly condemned organizations that sought to exploit dragons for profit or warfare. Although the tribe itself no longer exists, its influence remains deeply embedded in modern dragon conservation efforts.
⸻
Outcast Tribe (Extinct) The Outcast Tribe was formed from exiles, criminals, and disgraced individuals who had been banished from other tribes for offenses such as treason, piracy, or other serious crimes. Unlike dedicated dragon-hunting factions, the Outcasts were primarily motivated by personal gain and survival. However, they frequently allied themselves with dragon hunters and other unsavory groups whenever such partnerships served their interests. The tribe inhabited a barren island located not far from Berk. For many years they were a persistent nuisance to neighboring tribes, but their numbers gradually dwindled as the archipelago modernized. By the modern era, the Outcast Tribe had faded into history.
⸻
Northern Alliance (Extinct) The Northern Alliance originated as a loose network of independent dragon-hunting groups operating near regions with large dragon populations. Over time, these factions formed alliances and eventually merged into a single powerful organization. At its height, the Northern Alliance controlled numerous military installations, maintained a vast naval fleet, and commanded trained combat dragons. What began as a collection of black-market enterprises evolved into one of the most profitable and influential organizations in the archipelago. The Alliance ultimately collapsed following the introduction of modern animal welfare legislation, which classified many of its practices as animal abuse. While a small number of unlicensed dragon handlers and illegal operators still engage in similar activities today, they are not recognized as members of the Northern Alliance, which no longer exists as an organized entity.
⸻
Berserker Tribe (Extant) The Berserker Tribe is one of the largest and most powerful tribes still in existence. Historically associated with the legendary Shadow-class dragon known as the Skrill, the Berserkers developed a reputation for their fierce warriors, strong leadership, and unwavering pride. A major turning point in the tribe's history occurred when Dagur the Deranged married Mala of the Defenders of the Wing. This union brought the two tribes together, creating a powerful alliance that significantly increased their influence and population. Today, the Berserkers remain a prominent force in both political and dragon-related affairs. They even created dragon-rider lessons that teach people with domesticated dragons as pets how to ride them around the world.
⸻
Defenders of the Wing (Extant) The Defenders of the Wing originally lived in isolation on Caldera Cay, where they devoted themselves to the protection and reverence of dragons. Their close relationship with dragons made them one of Berk's strongest allies during the Archipelago era. Members of the tribe were renowned for a unique martial art passed down through generations, combining disciplined combat techniques with an understanding of dragon behavior. In modern times, the tribe has reinvented itself as a respected veterinary and dragon-care organization specializing in the treatment, rehabilitation, and welfare of domesticated dragons. Despite this transformation, misconceptions about the tribe persist. Due to their historical reverence for dragons, some outsiders mistakenly believe the Defenders of the Wing still worship dragons as deities, when in reality their modern organization is focused entirely on dragon health and conservation.
⸻
Wingmaidens (Extant) Inspired by the legendary Valkyries of ancient folklore, the Wingmaidens were a tribe composed exclusively of female warriors. They lived on a secluded island and generally avoided involvement in major intertribal conflicts, preferring to focus on their sacred duty: protecting dragons of the Metal elemental subspecies. Over the centuries, the Wingmaidens evolved from an isolated warrior society into a highly influential political organization. Their expertise in dragon welfare and conservation eventually positioned them as leading advocates for dragon rights. Most notably, they were responsible for drafting and promoting many of the modern laws that protect dragons from exploitation, abuse, and illegal trade. Today, the Wingmaidens remain one of the most respected institutions in the world, serving as both policymakers and guardians of dragon welfare.
About Dragon Classes:
Domesticated dragons are traditionally organized into seven major categories known as the “Dragon Classes”. Rather than grouping dragons by species alone, this system classifies them according to their most defining traits, abilities, and behaviors. The classification method was originally developed centuries ago by Bork the Bold, a Viking of the now-extinct Hairy Hooligans tribe. His system provided dragon riders with a practical way to understand and work alongside the many different dragon species they encountered. Although the modern classification system remains largely faithful to Bork's original framework, several changes have been made over time. The most notable revision was the removal of the former “Fear Class”. During the era of peace between dragons and humans, scholars and dragon trainers came to view the term as outdated and misleading. They recognized that fear often stemmed from misunderstanding rather than any inherent quality of the dragons themselves. As a result, the class was dissolved, leaving the seven categories used today.
==============
Boulder Class Boulder Class dragons are renowned for their exceptional toughness, endurance, and resilience. Their bodies are heavily built and capable of withstanding tremendous physical punishment, while their stubborn and determined temperaments make them equally resilient mentally. Many species within this class incorporate rocks and minerals into their diets, consuming them as a source of nourishment. These materials are melted within specialized stomachs and later expelled as molten lava, magma, or superheated rock projectiles. Because of their durability and immense strength, Boulder Class dragons are often considered some of the most dependable dragons in the world.
Common subspecies (including hybrids of subspecies) in this class include: • Earth • Metal • Fire
⸻
Tracker Class Tracker Class dragons possess extraordinarily advanced senses, particularly smell and taste. They can identify and follow scents over vast distances, often detecting traces that other dragons would never notice. This remarkable sensory ability makes them unmatched trackers, scouts, and hunters. Whether searching for prey, locating missing dragons, or following ancient trails, Tracker Class dragons excel at gathering information from their surroundings. Their keen instincts and persistence allow them to succeed where others might lose the trail.
Common subspecies (including hybrids of subspecies) in this class include: • Lightning • Wind • Light
⸻
Stoker Class Stoker Class dragons are defined by their powerful elemental abilities and fiery temperaments. Often passionate, territorial, and quick to react, these dragons possess strong personalities that can be as intense as the flames they wield. Their internal fire is more than just a weapon—it is a vital part of their biology. If a Stoker dragon is unable to generate or maintain its inner flame for an extended period, it can become seriously weakened or even dangerously ill. Their elemental attacks are among the most destructive and long-lasting of all dragon classes, making them formidable allies and opponents alike.
Common subspecies (including hybrids of subspecies) in this class include: • Fire • Poison • Lightning
⸻
Mystery Class The Mystery Class is the least understood of all dragon classes. Its members are naturally secretive, elusive, and difficult to study, often preferring isolation or remaining hidden from both humans and other dragons. Because reliable information about them is scarce, Mystery Class dragons have historically been surrounded by myths, rumors, and superstition. Despite their shared reputation for stealth and secrecy, no two Mystery Class species are exactly alike. Each possesses a unique and often extraordinary ability that sets it apart from every other dragon in existence.
Common subspecies (including hybrids of subspecies) in this class include: • Shadow • Acid • Nature
⸻
Sharp Class Sharp Class dragons are distinguished by the blades, spikes, and cutting structures that adorn their bodies. Their wings, tails, horns, claws, and scales are often specialized for slashing, piercing, or slicing through obstacles and enemies. Many species can even launch sharp projectiles, turning their natural weapons into ranged attacks. Alongside their dangerous physical attributes, Sharp Class dragons are often known for being proud, confident, and highly conscious of their appearance. They tend to carry themselves with a sense of elegance and superiority, taking great pride in their impressive natural weaponry.
Common subspecies (including hybrids of subspecies) in this class include: • Ice • Metal • Nature
⸻
Tidal Class Tidal Class dragons are masters of aquatic environments and spend most, if not all, of their lives in the water. Their bodies are adapted for swimming, diving, and hunting beneath the waves, allowing them to thrive in oceans, seas, rivers, and coastal regions. While many species rarely venture onto land, some possess specialized adaptations that enable them to move and survive on dry ground for limited periods. Their connection to water makes them exceptionally skilled swimmers and some of the most efficient marine predators in the dragon world.
Common subspecies (including hybrids of subspecies) in this class include: • Water • Nature • Wind
⸻
Strike Class Strike Class dragons are widely regarded as the elite dragons of the world. They combine exceptional intelligence, precision, speed, and combat effectiveness into a single formidable package. Members of this class are known for their ability to analyze situations quickly, react with remarkable accuracy, and execute attacks with devastating efficiency. Many Strike Class dragons can achieve incredible speeds, often enhanced by environmental factors such as wind currents, storms, or specialized biological adaptations. Their combination of intellect and power makes them some of the most respected and sought-after dragons among riders and trainers.
Common subspecies (including hybrids of subspecies) in this class include: • Light • Shadow • Nature
About Wyrmreach Island:
Wyrmreach is a vast island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, inhabited by every known species and subspecies of dragon. Covering roughly three-quarters the size of Jamaica, the island was transformed from a barren, overgrown land into a carefully managed dragon sanctuary. The dragons themselves reshaped the environment, creating specialized elemental zones so that creatures of fire, ice, water, nature, storm, earth, and other affinities could live without conflict. Humans are strictly prohibited from entering Wyrmreach. The restriction exists to preserve the island's unique ecosystem and prevent disruption to the dragons' highly organized society.
==============
Geography:
Island Scale Wyrmreach is large enough to contain multiple climates, mountain ranges, coastlines, forests, wetlands, and volcanic regions. Its position in the Pacific provides abundant ocean access, making seafood a major food source for the dragons.

Elemental Zoning The island is divided into elemental territories. These zones were not created by nature but by the dragons themselves, who used advanced environmental awareness and cooperative planning to establish boundaries that support each dragon type.
Zone Type: Environment: • Fire • Volcanic terrain, hot springs, ash plains • Ice • Glaciers, frozen cliffs, cold winds • Water • Coastal reefs, deep lagoons, tidal caves • Nature • Dense forests, flowering valleys, giant trees • Lightning • High peaks, constant lightning activity, electric currents • Earth • Canyons, crystal caverns, mineral-rich hills • Poison • Toxic swamps, venomous marshes, polluted waterways • Acid • Corrosive lakes, bubbling chemical pits, dissolving rock formations • Wind • Floating islands, vast grasslands, powerful jet streams, endless skies • Metal • Iron mountains, mechanical ruins, magnetic fields, foundries • Shadow • Dark forests, cursed ruins, perpetual twilight, haunted wastelands • Light • Crystal sanctuaries, sunlit temples, shimmering plains, gold flowers | | | Each zone also has its own “capital” or “landmark”, which is the center of each zone.
Zone Type: Landmark: • Fire • The Emberfall Caldera • Ice • The Frostspire Expanse • Water • The Azure Depths • Nature • The Verdant Wilds • Lightning • The Stormpeak Range • Earth • The Stoneheart Frontier • Poison • The Blightroot Mire • Acid • The Caustic Basin • Wind • The Skyreach Expanse • Metal • The Ironheart Forge • Shadow • The Umbral Hollow • Light • The Dawnbloom Sanctuary

History:
Before the Dragons Before dragon settlement, Wyrmreach was an uninhabited island. Its landscape was dominated by invasive bamboo and thick fern moss that spread across much of the terrain.
⸻
The Great Transformation When the dragons arrived, they systematically removed the invasive growth and replaced it with plants suited to dragon life. The transformation demonstrated not only physical power but also sophisticated ecological planning.
==============
Flora Wyrmreach's plant life is designed around dragon nutrition and environmental balance.
Plant: Description: • Sagefruit Trees • Large fruit-bearing trees that provide relaxation. • Dragon-nip • A fragrant herb that many dragons find stimulating and calming. • Fire Petals • Heat-tolerant flowers favored by fire dragons. • Crystal Moss • Mineral-absorbing ground cover common in earth zones. • Tide Kelp • Nutrient-rich seaweed cultivated in water territories. | | | The dragons actively cultivate and manage these plants, preventing any single species from becoming invasive.

Fauna and Diet One unusual aspect of Wyrmreach is the absence of non-dragon land animals. The dragons rely on two primary food sources:
• Seafood
Fish, crustaceans, squid, and other marine life from the surrounding ocean. Seafood is considered the dragons' favorite food and forms the bulk of their diet.
• Edible Plants
Fruit, herbs, roots, and specialized vegetation cultivated across the island.
⸻
Diet note Dragons are sometimes omnivorous. When they crave foods not available on Wyrmreach, they travel to nearby mainland regions to obtain them before returning to the island. Mainland foraging is carefully regulated by the dragons themselves. They avoid establishing permanent settlements off-island and generally return to Wyrmreach after gathering supplies.

Dragon Society:
Harmony Through Design The elemental zoning system is the foundation of Wyrmreach society. Each dragon type has an environment tailored to its needs, reducing territorial disputes and resource competition.
Intelligence and Planning The creation of the zones is widely regarded as evidence of advanced dragon intelligence. The project required coordination across species, long-term planning, and an understanding of environmental interactions that rivals sophisticated human engineering.
Environmental Stewardship Dragons monitor vegetation, coastline health, and resource use. Their management keeps the island stable despite its many distinct climates.
==============
Human Restrictions Access to Wyrmreach is forbidden to humans. The ban serves several purposes: • Protect the delicate balance between elemental zones. • Prevent introduction of invasive species. • Avoid conflict between dragons and outside visitors. • Preserve the island as a self-governing dragon homeland.
Most nations recognize the restriction and avoid approaching the island's waters.

Reputation To outsiders, Wyrmreach is a place of mystery: a hidden civilization where dragons from every element coexist on a single island. To dragons, it is home—a carefully crafted sanctuary built through cooperation, intelligence, and respect for the natural world.

MEDIEVAL ERA!! The current year is 1673.

The year was 1673.
For centuries, the Lupin Kingdom had maintained a tradition as old as the mountains themselves.
Whenever a dragon settled too close to the kingdom's borders, a warrior would be chosen and sent to slay it.
The practice had begun generations ago, born from fear rather than necessity. Villages had once vanished beneath dragonfire. Livestock had disappeared overnight. Entire castles had been reduced to smoldering ruins by creatures whose lifespans stretched thousands of years beyond those of humans. To the people of Lupin, dragons were powerful, unpredictable forces of nature.
And among all the dragons whispered about in taverns and marketplaces, none inspired more fear than the Fire Dragon of Mount Arahabaki.
Stories about him varied depending on who told them.
Some claimed he was older than the kingdom itself.
Others insisted he could swallow entire armies in flame.
A few drunken sailors swore they had seen him flying above the clouds during storms, a massive serpentine silhouette trailing fire across the sky like a living comet.
No one could agree on the details.
Everyone agreed on one thing.
He was dangerous.
The dragon's territory lay within an enormous volcanic caldera several days north of the capital. The mountain had long since ceased erupting naturally, yet rivers of heat still flowed beneath its stone bones. Crimson Fire Petals bloomed along the cliffsides. Steam drifted from hidden vents. The air smelled perpetually of ash and minerals.
It was there that the dragon had made his home.
And it was there that Prince Dazai Osamu had just been ordered to go.
The shōgun's decree rested on the polished table before him.
Officially, it was a test.
An honorable rite of passage.
A future ruler proving his courage by defeating a monster.
