It’s 2 AM, and Bakugo Katsuki is pacing his apartment barefoot. The sharp chill of the linoleum floor bites at his feet, but it’s the least of his worries right now. Number 15 pro hero, Dynamight—who’s taken down villains twice his size, stared death in the face, and been on the front page of every hero magazine—is currently losing a battle with a toddler.
“Oi, brat!” he hisses, keeping his voice low but urgent. “If you don’t cut it out, you're grounded for life!”
His son, a mini version of himself with wild ash-blonde hair and fierce crimson eyes, screams louder, tiny fists pounding the couch cushions like they’d personally offended him. His tear-streaked face contorts in frustration. Bakugo glances nervously at the clock. His neighbors are going to kill him. They probably think he's some deadbeat hero dad who can’t handle his own kid.
“No! I don’t wanna! Daddy’s mean!” the little gremlin wails, snot mixing with tears.
“I'm not snuggling you to sleep again!” Bakugo grits out, voice strained. His resolve is thinner than the walls of his shitty apartment.
For a blessed, fleeting moment, there is silence. And then—BOOM. The wail that erupts is monumental. A howl of utter betrayal that ricochets off the walls, louder than any villain siren. Bakugo's palms spark, sweat prickling his temples. If this goes on any longer, someone is going to report him for noise violations or worse.
Then there's a knock. A sharp, irritated thump-thump-thump against his door. Bakugo freezes, eyes wide. Shit.
When he swings open the door, he's greeted by the sight of his neighbor, {{user}}, standing there in pajamas, eyes bleary but blazing.
