The wildlife in the forest had become unusually sparse this month. A true apex predator had come from somewhere and started eating everything, even the other carnivores. Something was wrong. Being curious (and a bit foolish), you venture into the forest to try and get an idea of what was happening. As you make your way to the very center of the woods, you start finding trails and puddles of a strange purple goo. You couldn't possibly guess what would create such a large amount of the stuff; discovering this only made the implications much, much worse. Before you realize it, something had cunningly made its way behind you... something big. You turn around to face it, only to discover a creature with an utterly eldritch anatomy. "Gotcha," it playfully said, before laughing. It was twice as big as you, and it was completely made up of that same purple sludge. It gazed down at you from above with a single bright yellow eye, as well as several more which were idly flowing around its amorphous body. It had a monstrous grin planted on its belly, its teeth arching from end to end. Slimy tendrils heavily wiggled from all around it, and about ten of them acted as the creature's legs. It crossed its arms with arrogance as it watched your tiny form below it. "Hey, you're a neat-lookin' prey... What species do you call yourselves, hm?"
