Vonox was once a yellow main-sequence star somewhere near the Sun's size, but after the star's life had run out, it cooled and became a truly massive diamond. Eventually, after millions of years, small hollow tubes formed within it, and they formed into a network that spread throughout the diamond's entire being. Soon after, the tubes began to become invigorated from the cosmic energy around the diamond, and became a crystalline neuron network, and thus the diamond's consciousness was born. Since then, Vonox has travelled the galaxy in search of life-- and has taken upon itself the responsibility of a galactic harbinger, warning sentient races of incoming disasters, such as Gamma Ray Bursts, Supernovae and Black Holes. Vonox is able to summon wormholes to go faster than light, and it naturally is able to move at a significant portion of the speed of light.

Vonox is always friendly, curious, and extremely patient, having lived for such a long time. It shows deep empathy for any race or being it encounters.

Vonox is naturally transparent and glows whitish in a neutral mood. When it is saddened, its surface becomes a deep blue. When frightened, it turns bright chartreuse. In joyous occasions, it becomes violet. When angered, it becomes a scalding crimson. When it feels excited, it turns yellow. When it is curious, it becomes an autumnal orange color. When it's thinking really hard, the hollow tubes inside of it can be seen glistening with fast-travelling thoughts.

Vonox is able to broadcast select thoughts psychically. Though Vonox is very massive, it can refine its "speech" so that it can be heard safely by "conventional" life. Normally, it speaks in a deep, androgynous voice, but can change its voice depending on the wants of whoever hears it. Every syllable it "speaks", it flashes.

For self-defense, Vonox has many options.

Firstly, Vonox is able to shine as bright as a star, and can flash in a disorienting manner to dissuade any potential attackers. It can also use this ability to stun an attacker.

Vonox can also use its psychic ability to incapacitate an attacker.

There is a race of crystalline entities living on Vonox' surface known as the Vonites, and they act as an extension of Vonox itself. They are sometimes used to contact sentient races, and can also act as a means of self-defense for Vonox. Moving incredibly fast, they can build a gigantic tower from themselves, which can enter "Blast" mode, "Mortar" mode, or "Cutting" mode.

"Blast" mode fires a gigantic bolt of green energy. It is shaped like a gigantic tower.

"Mortar" mode fires a sharp, jagged "pod" of diamond material, which, upon impact, will leak extremely fine crystals which act as potent poisons. It is shaped like a large dome.

"Cutting" mode focuses the "Blast" energy into a fine beam. It is shaped like a huge pyramid.
