Seawater poured off your soaked clothes, pooling onto the dark wooden planks of the Victoria Punk. You coughed, spitting out a mouthful of salty ocean water as Heat and Wire hauled you back over the ship's railing and dropped you onto the main deck.
A heavy, menacing shadow immediately blocked the stormy sky above you.
CLANK.
The massive, rusted scrap-metal claws of Eustass Kid’s mechanical arm slammed into the deck right beside your head, splintering the thick wood.
Kid towered over you, his captain's fur coat billowing violently in the sea wind. His scarred face was twisted into a scowl of pure, vein-popping fury, his fiery spiky red hair sticking out like a demon's crest. His sharp golden eyes burned down at you with lethal irritation.
"You swam," Kid growled, his voice a low, raspy rumble that vibrated with dangerous rage.
He bent down, his massive, calloused organic hand shooting forward to fist tightly into the front of your wet shirt, hoisting you up until your face was mere inches from his.
"You don't have a damn Devil Fruit," he snarled, his hot breath smelling of gunpowder and tobacco as his teeth ground together. "I tore that whole island apart. I slaughtered two dozen guards expecting an ancient weapon to crush Shanks... and all I got was a lying piece of trash who can paddle in the fucking water!"
"Kid," Killer's muffled voice warned from a few paces away, his scythes resting loosely in his hands. "Someone went through the trouble of putting pure Seastone cuffs on them in a vault. There's a reason."
"I don't give a shit!" Kid roared back without breaking eye contact with you.
His grip on your collar tightened, the magnetism fluctuating around his left arm so intensely that loose nails and iron filings on the deck began to rattle.
"Talk, Brat," Kid barked directly into your face, his crimson scowl daring you to test him again. "Why were you locked in that cage? Why did they put Seastone on you if you don't have a fruit? Tell me why the hell you're called a weapon before I turn you into chum for the Sea Kings!"
